- Last week, Amazon Game Studios extended a remarkable invitation for us to visit and become among the first individuals globally to experience some of their upcoming game modes in the immersive world of New World: Aeternum.
Coming from someone who is not the biggest MMO player, after playing this game for more than four hours, I can't wait to play it when it releases on consoles and PC this October.
In today's video, we share our exciting gaming experience at the studio. You'll get to see some amazing gameplay, interviews, and the fantastic gifts the studio generously gave us for visiting!

I've got all professions and gathering skills completly maxed(which took months!!) on my current character but I'm going to start fresh on the 15th b/c to me the crafting and gathering in this game is the best I've ever played. It's so relaxing to just go out into the wilds and just harvest because the sound of hacking down a tree or mining a rock is sooooooo satisfying it's hard to describe.
All the world needs is to just be filled with people b/c the combat, crafting, and sound effects are second to none!
Coming from other arpgs like Elden Ring and No Rest For the Wicked though, I feel like they could add more oomf with the melee sounds. The guns and magic sounds great but the melee could sound a bit more impactful imo.
Also are there benefits to having alts? or could you just have and do everything on 1 toon?

Really hope it succeeds! Even if you hate combat, I find it simple to understand, you don’t even have to combat much, just as a chill experience with the trade skills it rocks! Pls be good!
I have purchased the Deluxe version for my PS5. It’s downloading as we speak. I been playing Throne & Liberty, lvl 24 but the grind real, being free to play. So hope I enjoy this more.

My birthday is the 16th this will be my gift to myself , although i will have to play solo as i have no friends to play with , i will be 54 probably the oldest player but cant wait .
A lot of us vets are coming back to the game to have fun again cause the game is so much fun for about 500+ hours for most of us❤

I salute you for staying optimistic. I can see this FFA zone being a highly competitive area when people have settled in with their builds and minmaxing. Being a NW PC veteran I'm excited even though NW:A does not bring a ton of content for us who have played since Launch back in 2021. At least it brings new players and some long awaited optimization, and most importantly hope.. !
Edit: Did AGS ever invite people who are already very familiar with New World? I still miss a NW veterans POV when it comes to this endgame content.

ESO is about to be dead on console when this comes out maybe it will make them get their act together and start listening to veteran players
Honestly look forward to people move on from eso. As a day one player on Xbox, it hurts how much they cater to casual player who rarely play the game and completely leave out almost everything vets ask for. Class balance, hardmode pve. Better pvp

The people who rate this game as bad are the same people who have played it for 400 hours . A regular game costs 60 dollars and gives you 50 hours, come on guys.

@OrphanCrippler1 I experienced the issues, the exploits, Broken economy, lag in the big fight, we had no purpose in the last level.
I experienced all those issues in 2021, after playing 500 hours.
That's the point, after 500 hours.
I enjoyed the journey, not the destination.

God i cant wait for oct 15. The visuals and combat alone sells it for me more than any other mmo(I love black desert but it's too over the top). I truly hope AGS redeems themselves by putting out more content. after this overhaul.

3.5k hours on pc and I’m SO ready to slam more hours down. Especially with these new updates. As someone who has been through all the bad sides. It’s all fixed. This experience we are getting in October is a complete, polished beautiful and fun game that will surely be jam packed with fun for all!

I like your video, my friend. I've played this 7.5k hours. I stopped playing for a few months. I'll play again this October. I really like the PVE content
experienced pvp player here with 2200 hours in the game. its a great game early to mid game but the late game is lacking hard. i do recommend trying out the game if it looks fun to you as ive had a lot of fun playing over the last few years. just dont rely to heavily on the devs to come through for the community. they seem to not care a hole lot about their player base.

Pc players sounding like dudley from hp lol here's a new raid new gear score cap new pvp free for all area and new weapon. Never enough for them lol. Consoles players will greatly appreciate it because we don't get alot of mmo options we have black desert and eso 🤣

its not about what PC got its about how long it took to get while the game dwindled players. If the game does well PC players will completely 180 thier opinion on the game. especially if they get a GOOD roadmap which has been hinted to be coming after console launch
New world is a great game it’s very fun, the problem is I get addicted really quick and start to no life the game 😂 that’s why I quit lmao came back and 50 hours in 5 days again

It's VERY hard to find anything as good a NW server launch.. If you're on console you're gonna get your moneys worth 100%% They game is leaps and bound better than PC launch.
Graphics on PS5 is amazing in this game, Cant wait to play when it comes out

After dying,do i loose all cursed coins or some? Like half my coins etc? Do i loose also my Gear/weapons ? 😅
no, you only loose 50% of cursed items that you acquired inside the FFA zone. When you leave the zone, those items get cleansed.

I have 1.2k hours on steam + 200h on beta/ptr, but my current steam review is "Not recommended". And so far, I stand by that, at least for PC players, but for new players, especially coming from consoles - I think this game can definitely give you enough entertainment for the price. Where the game suffers is late game; the first few hundred hours of leveling, gearing and exploring are awesome. Stunning visuals, sound design (like echoing sound of rocks being mined), even early chest runs in BS with like 100 of people are awesome. The game changed so much in the last 3 years and after seeing the new leveling experience (at least up to level 30) I have to say, they did well. IF they can keep this up for the new and upcoming content, then it might be a great game to get into, but we don't know if AGS won't move people to the LOTR mmo now.
One of the biggest downfalls of NW was the server structure, and how on the launch you would sit for hours in queues and after just few months there wouldn't be enough players online to even queue for Outpost rush. There is no worse feeling in mmo than a dead server, but it seems they finally got it figured out with sharding and cross server play.

To me, New World had 3 game loops. Go here, kill the thing, turn the quest in. Go there, collect the stuff in the chest and either avoid mobs or kill mobs while doing it, turn the quest in, and go to collect resources and either craft cooking stuff or armour/weapons to help you in killing more mobs. It has always needed more than that since release. The seasons thing was a good addition which created some diversity in the gameplay, but imo that isn't enough. I need more of that, unfortunately the resource gathering was my favourite bit of New World, and that was it tbh, I never ended up getting a mount either, I got to LVL63 but I was just continually hoping there was more, but i never really found it personally.

Playing new world for 100-200 hours and paying 60€ makes it a great game in my opinion

@gdottt-wh5bd listen, I think AGS is really trying to make things right for not just new players but veteran players. Just play it when it releases
The content coming for veteran players is insufficient, this content will only be enough to satisfy new players, AGS needs to produce faster and more effective content, a new Profession has not come to the game for a very long time for PvE players, or the OPR map that PvP players want, or abilities for mounts, diving ability, New Weapon abilities, they need to focus on content that players will like.
I think now that theyve upgraded the entire game and ported it you can expect that moving forward. This was a big job, and they tweaked everything, movement, combat, etc. If the game is tight and runs well, i have no problem with the time it took to get here. We ll see moving forward.

@@Ardie27 That's easy to say, but people that are used to AGS know how inconsistent they have been since 2021 launch. And the last bunch of dedicated players that are currently still playing has not seen any new content for a whole year, and was then told to wait until June this year for a big announcement. When June finally came, the big reveal was NW:A, and then be told not only for a whole year, but wait another half a year to finally get a little bit of content. Congratulations to the console players. You never had to go through the copium hell PC players have gone through, knowing how much potential NW has had since launch. Here's to the hope of NW:A being a start to the potential this game has. Even though it's the same incompetent Dev team behind it. Unless they have moved the whole game over to the Romanian game studio. Which is probably better in all cases.

How can you hope to win new customers when the already invested customers aren’t happy? It’s basic business to focus on your early adopters. Quality feedback is worth its weight in gold, so it’s insane to have that feedback and not act on it. At least talk about what’s possible and what’s not

Mate love your content but im going to surprise you the majority of the PC player base are not super happy with the game . We get alot of bugs this is probably the the best of the worst even though it crashes various critical systems and causes us to restart the game honestly that's no where near the worst things. Im so happy you guys on console will get to have fun in this game i hope its not buggy for you but one thing, if you believe a single word the devs say you will be seriously seriously disappointed. Just be happy with whats there dont expect too much and dont play on pc servers for pvp most pc players will 1 tap new players even if you are lvl 65 or 70 because they have entire stockpiles of BIS crafting mats and will get BIS 725 gear day 1 of the release (they100% have fully unlocked their artefacts also.)
Pretty sure the 725 crafting is going to be time gated. Not to mention I can't see a single reason console players will want to roll on a legacy server unless it's to play with someone unwilling to reroll with them.
I'm a pc player and I'm also looking forward to stating fresh. I've never quit over the leveling experience, only the endgame drama, so I look forward to enjoying a fresh start at my own pace and hopefully I can put off the toxicity of endgame for at least a couple months.

You seem like a nice bloke but why would they invite people with no real history of playing the game to test it out? Were you provided some insight into how to play the game, particularly around build composition?
I wasn't going to bother with commenting until you got to the Isabella fight and you mention only one person completed it. The Isabella fight is part of the reworked endgame narrative in the current pre-NWA live game. It is not clear from your footage if you were playing this version or some uplevelled version. As a 6k hour veteran it is a bit painful to watch and for you to talk about it being difficult. Your weapons of WH and VG do not synergise in any meaningful way. Neither of them do thrust damage, which the corrupted are weak to. One is strength (WH) and the other int/focus (VG). [You could have a build that used the lightning-based artifact WH and an int-based VG build (for example), but you wouldn't.] If you had the weapons you showed during your PVP island run, then the spear and hatchet would've been a far better option vs Isabella.
The new 10-person raid footage is interesting and also good to know who had experience in the team. Were you all in comms together? That seems to be a specific problem for console unless you are going to use discord. [This is a real problem for things like wurm raid that are almost impossible unless you all in comms together.] I get that it was an ad hoc grouping and experienced players would have a far more purposive way of approaching fights that this group would not necessarily have. It leads me to question how the game mechanics were communicated to you or those others in the group that had minimal experience in the game.
Again, it is frustrating to see that of the two members that had experience, one was a dev playing tank and the tank actually loses agro (or doesn't get it properly) in the opening fight. A boar runs past the clump and attacks who I think is the healer.
A little later you indicate you were chosen as a second tank. If it was during the fight you show were you discuss this, then I question how much insight you were provided by those with experience in the game. You had a bow and a GA. The GA can taunt with the Reap ability, but you did not have the ability selected. The bow can be used as a threat-based tank weapon (I have main tanked wurm raid several dozens of times with bow), but good luck doing so without a proper setup. You had 13k health for Echnida fight, which is 100 con or less. Classic melee tank build is 300s/300con SNS/WH. There are lots of variations but it is pretty hard to go wrong. The point is you would have like around double the health.
Again, you seem like a good guy so it is not so much on you, and when you get to end game after playing it through you will come back to this and be like "Yeah, I see what you were saying!" (Good to see you using spear/rapier in Typhon fight!)

Listen I can understand where you're coming from, but I've been working in the games industry for many years now.
And I made it clear as possible.Why?I like this game and why I can't wait to play it. The great thing about New World Aeternum is that it's for everyone. It's a breath of fresh air into a huge, massive universe. Now adding console players, so there is a new player base, not just the same people that have been playing it for years
