Holly your soap making is amazing I deeply appreciate you showing recipes and the swirls. I’m 68 and just started a year ago I’m really having trouble Thx again
Hi, Holly. I'm a big fan of your work! If you don't mind asking, one question about this recipe. When you divide the recipe, what is the proportion you divide the lye, is the same for the oils?
The first (and only) time I used an acrylic mold, I could NOT get the soap out of the mold! I did everything I could think of, to no avail. BUT I didn't try refrigerating it. After watching this video, I think I'll try that mold again. And will refrigerate it for a while before trying to unmold it. Thanks!
You see, I was trying not to subscribe to another channel and you had to go and make that incredible bar of soap--now here I am clicking the bell so I can be notified whenever you post...
Can I have please help here...1/2 tsp it is a tea spoon or a table spoon ? And the abbreviation of PPO what should that means? Thank you a lot for all your answer 🙏🙏🙏
Your soaps are so beautiful. The video is so well done that I am spellbound. I am in awe of your work! I can brag that I knew you before you became a You Tube sensation.
Looks really amazing.. I've not at all tried cold process method.. Till today i only use soap base to make my own customized soaps. After watching your cold process soap making videos I feel more confident to make my own soap bases. Thanks a lot for your videos with helpful tips❤👍
OOOO my goodness Holly!! 😍😍😍 that soap is GORGEOUS!! I looooove 💖💖 the colors, I 💖💖 the swirls, I just 💖💖 love everything of it! Woooow 😍😍 Thanks a bunch for sharing 😘😘
This video was great! I appreciate how you changed up your editing this time. I hope you are having a good time experimenting with how you make your videos!
Gorgeous! I just started soapmaking late 2018 & am just getting to where I want to try swirls. The most I've done with additives is an exfoliating coffee soap. This really makes me want to face my fears & dive in! So pretty!
Thanks so much for sharing the acrylic mold. I’ve been intrigued by them for a while. I’ve used HDPE molds with out lining and enjoyed them but they did not leave the soap as smooth as this acrylic did. I always enjoy your work with clays, I am sure your soap slides like satin on the skin.
I've watched this video hundreds of times, it's my favorite soap. In addition to the wonderful soaps, the videos are super professional and informative. I also love your soaps because you use natural colorants. In this recipe, can we replace illite with Brazilian clay? Forever a fan...
Thank you! No, it will still make soap whether it goes through gel phase or not. However, when soaps go through gel, the colors will usually be more intense and the soap can usually be unmolded/cut a bit sooner.
Thank you for your videos. There are so few soaping videos using clays as a colorant, so your videos are appreciated. Can you use Moroccan red clay, Brazilian red clay, or French red clay in place of the Ilite clay for similar results?
Thank you! Here’s where I bought the colorants in this video: Illite clay and charcoal from Symphony Scents, pink kaolin clay from Nurture Soap, and the indigo is from BotanicalColors.com. Oh and the white kaolin clay was purchased at Mad Micas (they have the whitest kaolin clay I’ve been able to find). 😊
Thanks for watching! Not really but it does help when you can find really white kaolin. It’s never as bright white as TD, though. Most of the suppliers I’ve used have switched to almost a gray colored kaolin. However, the white kaolin I used in the video came from Mad Micas, and I’ve been thrilled with it. It’s probably the whitest I’ve ever found.
I absolutely love this! Do you think it will work with M&P too? I put a lot of complex embeds in my M &P and I'd love to be able to see what I am doing.
Can you help me to understand how you did the lye mixture when you stated you dividing 1/3 on bottoms and 2/3 on top. Would I divide out the oils the same and utilize the lye accordingly?
Pretty soap, I like it. I am interested in the mold too, no liners needed, but does it now in the middle? How many bars did you get out of this? I noticed you got a few owls out of it, I love owls, I have a mold like that.
Thank you! I didn’t have any problems with bowing. It’s such a thick acrylic though, that’s probably why. This batch produced 10 bars and 3 samples. I had enough left over soap for 3 owls. 😊
When I do a pot swirl like this, I’ll use 2/3 for the base color (white in this case) and 1/3 for the accent/drop colors. For dividing the accent/drop colors, I usually just try to divide them evenly or guess at what amounts might look good to me depending on the colors.
This is not a soap.... This is a piece of ART ❤️

I had a really hard time unmolding a soap I made in an acrylic mold. It didn’t want to harden. I will try the salt and fridge ideas. Thanks.
Can I have please help here...1/2 tsp it is a tea spoon or a table spoon ? And the abbreviation of PPO what should that means? Thank you a lot for all your answer 🙏🙏🙏

Hi mam, Lovely soap, is gel phase compulsory
Thank you! No, it will still make soap whether it goes through gel phase or not. However, when soaps go through gel, the colors will usually be more intense and the soap can usually be unmolded/cut a bit sooner.
@@hollysoapmaking thank you mam

¡Hermoso! Felicitaciones.
Hello Holly, did you prefer the acrylic soap mold. Would you go back to silicone
Très beau savon , Suis impatiente de l’essayer 😍
Beautiful! I have the same mold from them and I just love it! I actually cpop my soap and the mold does just fine!
Stunning soap. Where do you get your natural colorants?
What may I ask do you do with your extra colorants. Do you store them and if so for how long do they hold up.
Colorants mixed with oil get used over a couple of weeks to a month. If I've mixed them with water, I use them up that day.
Beautiful
Thank you!
Very pretty!
Холли, какая красота😊 Вы волшебница!
Awesome...where do you buy your clays from please?
Thank you so much for sharing 'everything'! Do you find kaolin clay more reliable as a white colorant than titanium dioxide and zinc oxide?
Thanks for watching! Not really but it does help when you can find really white kaolin. It’s never as bright white as TD, though. Most of the suppliers I’ve used have switched to almost a gray colored kaolin. However, the white kaolin I used in the video came from Mad Micas, and I’ve been thrilled with it. It’s probably the whitest I’ve ever found.
@@hollysoapmaking I see. Actually, I haven't been too successful with td and zo. So now I can try kaolin clay. Thank you once again. Happy soaping!
This is so pretty, reminds me of a gemstone (the top part)!
Thank you so much, Glenda!
Hey Holly, where did you find the orange illite at? I haven’t seen that anywhere.
I bought mine online from Symphony Scents. I keep looking for other sources (just to have a backup) but haven't had any luck.
I absolutely love this! Do you think it will work with M&P too? I put a lot of complex embeds in my M &P and I'd love to be able to see what I am doing.
Sooooo beautiful. Going through all your videos- hope to find a good tutorial on USING natural colorants
Nice Soap, creation with heart.
Adding Salt to Water before lye? What kind of Salt? Salt use in cooking?
Thank you! I used a fine salt I happened to have handy in my kitchen called Morton's fine sea salt.
Love this soap! The mold looks great, really like the idea of being able to see so well and fully disassemble when complete.
Beautiful, as always!
Thank you!!
Can you help me to understand how you did the lye mixture when you stated you dividing 1/3 on bottoms and 2/3 on top. Would I divide out the oils the same and utilize the lye accordingly?
Perfect!!!👌👌👌
Beautiful! soap 🤩😍 perfect! Colors for the season 🎃🍁🧡
Pretty music beautiful soap☺️
Thank you!

How did you divide the top layer batter between the 4 colours ?
When I do a pot swirl like this, I’ll use 2/3 for the base color (white in this case) and 1/3 for the accent/drop colors. For dividing the accent/drop colors, I usually just try to divide them evenly or guess at what amounts might look good to me depending on the colors.
Holly - Kapia Mera Soap I tried it to day but I didn’t let enough for the base color !! So I think it will be a little dark
