I love the sound of bellbirds so much! Reminds me of the time when I was little sitting in the back of the car and winding the window down to hear them as we travelled through Victoria
Well it’s a shame they destroy trees. I live in the rainforest of the eastern coast surrounded by tree and ferns and all I hear is its sound. Although beautiful the bird is know for killing trees. Beautiful, but deadly
I am lucky to live amongst these birds. You never tire of it. :) Funny story, i was bringing my nan down to mine for a visit and the Bell birds were chiming away when my nan asked "have we got a squeaky wheel on the car"...lol...It was a funny moment.
Just looked this up to send to friends in UK. They're anazed...I always remember yhem growing up when on holiday on sth voast NSW.. Just travelled up from Melbourne to sth coast agsin...first time in over 30 yrs...had to keep my window wound fown just to listen to them..and stop to take a small recording. I love them so much...i would move to be closer to them one day. I did see a few logging trucks sadly...but even more on some bavk roads- away from tourist eyes...😢
Was driving back to lismore from nimbin smoking a joint feeling pretty good when I first heard these birds, was amazing, the Doppler effect was entrancing.
We used to hear this beautiful sound of bell birds in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, but they disappeared some years ago unfortunately. Property values were higher in that area then because of them.
I’m so sad that we don’t get bellbirds where I live. My friend on the central coast of NSW lived next to a colony of bellbirds, and we would have all night movie marathons on her back verandah. When pre-dawn arrived the bellbirds would begin to sing, and it was honestly one of the most wonderful experiences of my life just lying there in my sleeping bag, listening to their exquisite calls as the sun came up. They’ll forever be one of my favourite Aussie birds!
Lovely recording, it reminds me of some bushshrikes in Southern Africa. The acoustics of the place are very different here though, less dry and more live.
Yeah, some of those bushshrikes have lovely tonal bell-like calls too. These Australian Bell Miner's generally live in fairly dense, tall damp forest so lots of reverb and typical 'forest' acoustics.
They sound a bit like proximity mines or digital alarms or when you forget to replace your fire alarm battery But I allways loved the way they sound though the most digital natural noise out there
I grew up with this beautiful ambience in Eltham, Victoria... Took my wife down there to show her and to my dismay, the bell birds were no longer around :'(
😪 It's so sad. I grew up in the Blue Mountains and after living in New Zealand for 27 years and with the passing of my Kiwi Wife, I had to come back home and ground myself to the emotional safety of the bush. After craving for the natural symphony of Aussie's beautiful bird song for so long and was shocked not to hear just one Bellbird ring anywhere. It was so very very lifeless. Sad. 🙄
Takes me back to when i was a little kid when we went to visit my grandparents in greensborough, melbourne, their property backed onto Dry Creek, a run-off from the Plenty River. So tranquil & peaceful...

That's awesome!
Ditto driving up the Blue Mountains on Bell's Line of Road at a spot called (back then) Bellbird corner!
@gregbailey45 Bell's Line of Road is still a good spot for them, quite a few colonies along there

These are among my favourite bird sounds.. I could listen to this all day.
Shout-out to the bird for posing still for entire 14 minutes!
My favourite sound in the Aussie bush. Love those pockets of Bellbirds on the Mt Lindsay HWy as you cross the border, into Woodenbong.

The sound relieves my tinnitus. Really. It's great.
This is my favourite sound. Always reminds me of Melbourne and these beautiful birds along the Yarra River
I lived near bellbird dell, Vermont, Australia. Best bird call .
what a beautiful frequency :)
Get to hear this awesome sound on the central coast all the time.
Love them, although one time I used the call for a ring tone. But I would look for the bird instead of answering the phone 🤣

They are beautiful 😍 I lived in Lakes Entrance for a time and used to love hearing them on my walks 💚💚💚
It's a wonderful sound.
Was driving back to lismore from nimbin smoking a joint feeling pretty good when I first heard these birds, was amazing, the Doppler effect was entrancing.
Thankyou, been trying to find out which bird makes this sound. Heard it everywhere in Australia.
Thank you very much, a wonderful discovery for me. Never heard the Bell Miners before! Beautiful!
Welcome to my backyard ,the Blue mountains Sydney
I've been to the blue mountains!. I went to Katoomba. It was amazing
Always hearing them in Yellow Rock!!
I’ve been fishing in bush land where this was absolutely deafening
Yeah it can get pretty loud when you're in the middle of a colony of them!
@@WildAmbience it was insane and amazing

I grew up in NE Melbourne, this is the sound I'd hear
I love this sound at Studley Park Melbourne ❤

These are very awesome recordings.. 👌
Great recording! This is a fascinating sound.
Glad you enjoyed it!
A noise I associate with visits to Minnamurra Rainforest and similar areas 💖 a noise of my childhood, along with the Eastern whipbird.
Took me straight into bushland walks
Beautiful sound
Stunning recording Marc!
There are amazing and unique sounds. It's great to stand amongst a colony of them and get the full sensory experience!
Love this 🙏
brilliant sounds as always Marc!
When your smoke detector is running out of battery juice:
You can hear them in every bird song video of Aussie birds

What an interesting sound. Doesn't sound like it came from a bird at all.
My wife called them “radar birds” when we lived in Australia.

Lovely bellbirds song. Is that the lyrebird also?
Stunning sounds of the bush! 🤗 Where have they gone? 😌
How can I get bell birds back to Clayton, Victoria? When we first came here, they were plentiful. Is it creeping suburbia? Merrowyn 🎵
I've heard this sound in Adelaide for 6 months. I've not heard them prior for 22 years! I think they've migrated over here?
Reminds me of Wolumla NSW.
Always reminded me of something like a Sonar/Radar sound
It DOES tend to echo well through the bush. Perhaps the birds can gauge the distance and direction of other bellbirds using the call.
Def some techno sounds

@wildambience have you captured the sound of the brown thornbill
Yes, recorded quite a few of them over the years.
can I use this sound for a project?

I don't live where these are. Shame
