Did you use the supplied "electrostatic" clear film squares (deckled edges) on the windows prior to sticking the camera with the supplied 3m adhesive square? Some other videos show the poster using those and some don't. My kit jus t arrived from Amazon today and I plan to install into my 2013 Honda Civic (four door sedan) on the weekend. I'm fairly confident about doing the install but just trying to see if those things were necessary. Hoping I might get away without using them. I do plan to power the camera and look at the view (via the JarvisCam App) before I mount in it's final position. Thank you for any suggestions you may have. Regards from Winnipeg!
That is a great tutorial. It looks like your rear camera is mounted on hatch back window/gate. I have an Audi A4 wagon and the gate flips up, any tips on routing the wiring from rear to front? Thank you so much!!
I went under the weather strip and tucked everything on the side of the headliner in between the weather strips on the doors. You can hide more by going under the panels and through the wire loom. Similar to this video. Your car may differ. ua-cam.com/video/On2jE7uRqPw/v-deo.html
Can you please recommend a OBD hardwire thingy . I need to use device when my car is parked . I enjoyed your video. I appreciate a response. Thank you .
Thank you for doing this video! It was extremely well done. Quick question - The vehicle you used for the demonstration is that a back hatch? I was going to install this on a minivan and was wondering if the back tailgate would still go up and down easily with the camera on the back glass? I imagine the you just leave enough wire free to allow for that movement.
Nice vid! But why does the app need GPS-location services switched on in order to connect to the cam? The resulting vid does not show gps location, for as far as I can see. The choice should be optional, not obligatory!
It does not drain your battery if you use a hardwire kit or your 12v plug in your vehicle shuts off when you turn your vehicle off. I would use 👉GKU Hardwire Kit amzn.to/4cNm5LW so ou can take advantage of the 24 hour parking monitor and not drain your battery
Do I have to start recording every time I drive or does it do it automatically? Also can I just keep it recording and auto delete and only if I want to save a session I need to click a button?
How do you get it to auto record? When I switch engine on and plug this in to cigar socket, it doesn't start recording unless I open app and press record. Have I missed something?
@@AutoSensation Oh god ignore me lol, it works fine, I was just trying to view the footage on my phone, while away from the car. Didn't realise it had to be connected to car to view.
Make sure connection is good. On the app try tapping the preview video to see if it switches. May take a few secs. or on the lower left of the preview video. Tap the switch button. Hope that helps
the app stop working saying connection failed and even connected with cam with wifi saying No internet connection. i had changed fused later (hardware kit) and password in my phone which was before 12345 regular
Hi, what advice does anyone have if I can't connect the WiFi part, no matter what I do the camera never connects to the app, I can still record my journey but the app is useless any idea?
Make sure wifi is on in the dashcam, turn off and on wifi on your phone, then try to connect. If that don't work. Try forgetting the wifi network on your phone then reset the dash cam, turn on wifi then try connecting again.
They don't mention that if there are bubbles in the adhesive, you can't get it off to fix it. Also, if you put the orange strip back on the sticky part, it won't come off without ripping off the entire stip. Unable to install. Returning.

Your review just convinced me to buy this. I just ordered it on Amazon. Thanks a lot.

Excellent tutorial. I just got mine and had no idea where to start. Are you Phillipino?
Glad this helps. Yes sir!

Yes it's a back hatch. I just leave enough slack so the wire can have some wiggle.

Oh I did not notice that. I'm not sure why.
Quick question, does this dash cam drain your car battery? Do you leave it plugged in at night or do you disconnect it from the power source?

@@AutoSensation ok thank you
Will it drain my car battery if I keep it plugged into the cigarette socket and I turn off my car ?
No. As long as your cigarette plug adapter shuts off when you shut off your car
Can you view images remotely from the app while the dash cam is in use?
Only when connected to wifi of the dashcam. Does not have 4G feature
Do I have to start recording every time I drive or does it do it automatically? Also can I just keep it recording and auto delete and only if I want to save a session I need to click a button?
No it records automatically once you turn on vehicle. Yes. There is a lock button to save a video so that it doesn't get overwritten

when the vehicle is parked and turn off incase of a collision would it turn on and record?
Yes. You will need to install the hardwire kit to activate this feature. amzn.to/3JpbVUl
What wifi does it connect to? Your home WiFi? My car isnt that close to my wifi router
The dash cam should have its own WiFi which you can connect to.
Turn on wifi on the dashcam and connect to that.
I can’t access the rear camera on the app? Wire is plugged in and have swap the quality from 4k to 2.5K and still not showing, any idea?

I'm not sure. Try resetting and connecting again. When I connect through wifi it does say connected without internet.

Once you connect with Wi-Fi, you can't use your phone data. How do you fix that issue
Sorry. I'm not understanding the question.
Once it's connected with the camera wifi, you can't use the phone internet. How do you fix that issue.
@@Amandeep334 Unfortunately, I think it's one or the other. My phone won't let let me choose both.
From what I saw in Amazon FAQ’s, its supposed to record even if we disconnect the wifi. And we can use the phone data normally.
@sadasiva574 Yes it does record if you disconnect the wifi. You only need to connect if you want to download the footage.
What is the plastic cling use for?
So you don't have to stick directly to the wndsheild. Easier to remove from the windsheild if needed.
