I really need a jeep on portals now. Long arm lift on an xj plus the portals and 39s should look and perform absloutely insane. Only thing better would be this one rig on a long arm suspension.
Good suggestion. I will do that because I have a lot to say about the topic. I’ve run stock, the apex power steering boost valve, and I now have PSC hydro assist. Stock sucks, apex is a huge upgrade and great for mild trails…after this last year in Sand Hollow I had to do PSC…we will add it to our ever running video list and I’ll do something on the topic. What is the most NARROW width that can be configured on this Jeep with these portals... That Jeep will not go on some trails at 88 in wide at the wheels.... The whole concept of a Jeep is supposed to be a small compact extremely capable 4x4 that can go places a bigger 4x4 cannot go....the gatekeepers of this concept at Jeep has let's say gone off trail....
I agree the width will limit its capability on lots of trails. To each his own I guess. I just changed wheels and fender flares to get my Gladiator narrower.
The gains with on and off road higher speed handling with lower center of gravity and stability in cornering. What a monster. Wonder what MPG this gets?
I don’t totally understand why someone would take the time to comment like this. Maybe yes, maybe the guys wheels the hell out of it. Either way does it affect your life, or does it just make you feel better about yourself to talk trash about someone’s success. I have guys who do this and never take them offroad…cool. I also have guys who do this and trailer them everywhere and wheel the piss out of them…cool. But either way, why talk trash?

This is like the perfect daily drive setup, just change the shocks and you're good to go

Too bad they are not offered with with 6x180 bolt pattern so you could use a Transit wheel with say a +90 mm offset.
How much width do portals add?
3.75” a side. The rest of the gain is in tires and wheels
Do I need a V8 can my V6 engine push the weight?
Every Jeep should have a V8. Fortunately these work a v6 also
