- today we do another vehicle walkaround on a stock 2024 Jeep 392 that came in to get a set of 74Weld portals along with some 40" Nitto trail grapplers wrapped around a new set of Method Race wheels.
Now that's a good lookin' Jeep! 😎

What happens with up/down travel? What are those measurements?
@@mkdn On the stock suspension they stay the same. Lift is only the portals and larger tires.

Would love to see it being wheeled on Rubicon or something similar, hope there will be more content this year as more of these kits are installed.
This is like the perfect daily drive setup, just change the shocks and you're good to go

A question: How does stock steering setup handle portal and 40s? There should be dedicated video on the steering topic.
Good suggestion. I will do that because I have a lot to say about the topic. I’ve run stock, the apex power steering boost valve, and I now have PSC hydro assist. Stock sucks, apex is a huge upgrade and great for mild trails…after this last year in Sand Hollow I had to do PSC…we will add it to our ever running video list and I’ll do something on the topic. Thanks
@@74weld I am considering the portal as an option as it seems to provide a number of solutions to a several issues in a package. Would love to know what it takes to run the portal reliably without creating DIY solutions.

Too bad they are not offered with with 6x180 bolt pattern so you could use a Transit wheel with say a +90 mm offset.
Hello guys, new lx gx 550 , and land cruiser 250 has been released now, So are you going to make portals for it. I am going to buy lx gx 550 very soon, I need to lift my gx 550. are you woking on this so far or not? I need info pls. I like your portals, we need fast proccessing.
How much width do portals add?
3.75” a side. The rest of the gain is in tires and wheels

Every Jeep should have a V8. Fortunately these work a v6 also

What is the most NARROW width that can be configured on this Jeep with these portals...
That Jeep will not go on some trails at 88 in wide at the wheels....
The whole concept of a Jeep is supposed to be a small compact extremely capable 4x4 that can go places a bigger 4x4 cannot go....the gatekeepers of this concept at Jeep has let's say gone off trail....
I thought the jeep concept was I can get to the mall or grocery store in any weather.

I agree the width will limit its capability on lots of trails. To each his own I guess. I just changed wheels and fender flares to get my Gladiator narrower.
The gains with on and off road higher speed handling with lower center of gravity and stability in cornering. What a monster. Wonder what MPG this gets?

I don’t totally understand why someone would take the time to comment like this. Maybe yes, maybe the guys wheels the hell out of it. Either way does it affect your life, or does it just make you feel better about yourself to talk trash about someone’s success. I have guys who do this and never take them offroad…cool. I also have guys who do this and trailer them everywhere and wheel the piss out of them…cool. But either way, why talk trash?
@@74weld I’ve seen a few bad ass jeep owners that actually use their jeep for things it was intended for. But nowadays is a bunch of mall crawlers with colorful jeeps. It is what it is. Have a good one.
