I can understand that this may not be for everyone, but I liked the effect? I also love coin magic as well so that could be why I see it in a positive way.
Surprised to see a good review of this. The coins are tiny, lightweight and busily designed so legibility is poor. My set even had severe differences in the shades of all the coins. So QC hasnt been up to scratch as I've read this elsewhere too. But the worst thing is the routining just introduces unnecessary suspicion. Taking the coin back after each round is going to trigger alarm bells and i'm not even sure Alexander deals with this in the tutorial. The outs at the end are lazy and not very deceptive. Guys on the cafe came up with a better routine that avoided some of these problems. Very under-cooked and last time I'll pre-order an Alexander Marsh trick.
I liked the idea and work on this routine but it seems I am in a minority so not sure why there is much negativity for this. Perhaps my love of coin magic has skewed my view???

Gimmicks are a little small and light for me, maybe suitable for stage, but hard to manage close up to stop the participant or others watching from looking a bit too closely at the gimmick(s). Also some buyers have reported problems with colour match between the gimmicks. Not one of 1914's best!
I am sure the 1914 will replace any faulty gimmicks, the ones I ordered arrived in perfect condition.
@@mentalistonashoestring I am certain they will, but I have a friend that received two lots before they got it right. Just feel their normally perfect standards have slipped a bit. Some less than glowing reviews on other forums

@@mentalistonashoestring There's just nothing good about this product.
1. The method. Every mentalist has thought about using this effect in this or a similar way...But has refrained from doing so because it is unnecessarily complicated. The fact that the third reveal with the smartphone negates the entire effect, you can also just do it 3 times.
2. The gimmicks. You dropped the coin, Alexander dropped the coin... and now you're giving your €40 to a spectator so he can throw it into the air? It falls down and your €40 rolls straight into the drain.
3. Even his handling is bad and he likes coin moves. Actually, everyone expected a mentalism effect. But you got a very ordinary coin trick (as I said, it feels like everyone has played around with this idea and the corresponding coins are available for €10). And not even Alexander's handling is good, let alone the many mentalists who simply don't feel like becoming a coin magician. Because coin magic and moves ALWAYS look like a magic trick, they NEVER look natural. They look natural to coin magicians because they watch videos and performances from other coin magicians and get used to these holds and movements.
If you perform that to a German who isn't drunk, he'll tell you, "You just did something, I don't know what, but I saw that you did something."
Agreed. Written up my review on the cafe. Very disappointing release, just too many issues to overcome. The handling issues that aren't addressed, the size, the design. Disappointing from a usually reliable company.
Why wouldn’t you show the coins when all 3 are clearly shown on product pages? Should have listened to your decision making coin and not done this review 🤦♂️
They only show the heads and heart sides of the coin on the 1914, they don't show the set so neither did I as it tips the method and UA-cam is a public platform.
