I was so dissapointed that Gambit had such small part in the movie because it was the whole reason for me to see the movie. Gambit is my favorite X-Man.

Its a tragedy that gambit hasnt been in any other films and they canceled the Tatum film. Gambit and wolverine were my absolute favorite when i watched the animated series as a kid. Gambit has been my all time favorite x-men.
@@timothyq.5070 hahahahah thanks i really like him as gambit and i see alot fan casting make him as horsman gambit in secret wars im sure he will be back as villain cause we will see alot varient plus tatum is from another universe hahahah
I WANT A MOVIE ABOUT GAMBIT HE WAS MY FAVORITE OF THE X-MEN I LIKED TAYLOR IN THE MOVIE, BUT HIS PRESENCE IN THE MOVIE WAS TOO SHORT. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE OF HIM AND GAMBIT
Yeah, same goes with Venom in Spiderman 3. I don't get it! Sam Rami could have made multiple movies at the same time! That would save the trouble. But then again, we would have to wait a bit longer for the first of the movies to come out and wait one year after the next for the others. Still, it would have been a whole lot better for positive reviews and for the money.
***** Hope they actually get two separate movies about that, one about the black suit and the other about venom. That's why we had that reboot in the first place! Hope they do it right this time! I'm sorry, when Spiderman is usually supposed to be slightly witty like Superman, those comics are supposed to lean more towards the Batman direction in terms of tomes. What I meant about that is that the Black Suit subplot is supposed to be dark! That's why a lot of comic book movie fans compare the Dance Scene in Spiderman 3 to... Okay, come get Nostalgia Critic to shoot me in the face when I say this, um, comparing the dance scene to the, um, shoot, forget it BAT CREDIT CARD! The Dance Scene killed Spiderman 3 in the same exact way ThatMemeWithTheIrony I told you about nearly killed the Batman franchise before Chris Nolan rescued it.
he can manipulate the kinetic energy in everything. He can charge objects with it to make them explosive. He uses the playing cards because he can charge them very fast. Bigger objects take longer. That's what I've always heard.
Taylor was great as Gambit, they really should bring him back. I'm glad he didn't have that phony sounding accent from the cartoon. I know a few Cajun people from Louisiana, and they don't sound like that at all. The cartoon one sounded like someone from New York trying to fake a Cajun accent. And yes, the Gambit from the comics can propel himself in the air using his staff, he's done it before.
Yea, but still no one seemed to really mind it over Gambit. Gambit is my favorite X-Men. Although Kitsch didn't have the accent downpacked, he was the best choice for Gambit imo.
I agree with the people who say he needed a better accent, but eh, I thought he was great. Cajun accents are hard to pick up, and with this Gambit, they seemed to be going for an Ultimate flavor, so an understated accent worked for it.
"My name is Remy LeBeau. To my enemies it's Gambit. You can go on ahead and forget my first name for now. Every man has a price to charge and a price to pay. I pay mine in spades. If I've learned anything in my life it's this. Always play the cards you're dealt. My name is Gambit, and I play for keeps."
Taylor Kitsch was the perfect Gambit! I was even dreaming of a solo "Gambit" film. I had found his presence in the previous film less than enough (I kept re-watching his scenes) and now you go on and replace him with Tatum who btw did a terrible job in "Jupiter Ascending" -a film which felt like it was written overnight. Please, please bring Kitsch back into the project. I want to see more of the "original" gambit not Tatum!
@giftofgab247 if the xmen were respected and taken seriously they wouldn't have been in black leather. They were looked at as silly kids things to sell toys and happy meals. It's no secret Hollywood didn't take comics seriously all you have to do is listen a bit and you'd hear it.
Heck yeah he should play the part again of the MCU what you all think and also have a Solo movie and have a good story of him and where he comes from and also how he got to be part of the X-Men.
omg i LOVE gambit...made me sooo happy when i saw him in this movie but then pissed when i saw how little screen time he got...i really wish they would come out with a really, REALLY good movie with an awesome actor playing him =) this guy wasnt bad as far as looks...but they have to work on the accent and eyes =3 if he's one of the most loved x-men character....why the hell doesnt he have his own movie?!
This makes me hate this movie even more! The fact That all these actors worked so hard, but the script was so BAD! And they gave Gambit powers he never had!
They HAVE to do a Gambit:Origins movie with Taylor Kitsch, they just HAVE to!! X-P He was perfect in every way, all he needs is more screen time, the red and black eyes, and most importantly, HE NEEDS ROGUE!!! Really, whoever's bright idea it was to put Rogue and Bobby together should be stoned. . .X-( Everyone and their mother knows Gambit is Rogue's man
"At a Fox Blu-ray press event in Beverly Hills in September 2009, Lauren Shuler Donner confirmed that there are plans for a film involving the New Mutants. Lauren Shuler Donner declared that Gambit is one of her favorite X-Men characters, and a film for him would be considered depending on the success of Wolverine." - Wikipedia
@nameme101 Agreed. I was also severely annoyed that Gambit's bo-staff was snapped in two thanks to Wolverine's claws. Canonically speaking, isn't Gambit's bo-staff made of adamantium? Therefore, it wouldn't snap when Wolverine sliced it in half. I'm pretty sure it's one of the reasons why Gambit at his best can easily school Wolverine in a fight in the comics.
Unfortunately, thanks to the makers of the X-Men movies, we can pretty much forget about seeing Rogue and Gambit together EVER! (Because according to the storyline, Gambit would be about 30+ years older than Rogue. . .>_
LOL took the words right out of my mouth, i dont know WHO came up with the bright idea to stick Bobby with Rogue but everyone and their mother knows that Gambit and Rogue belong together
My main complaint (other than lack of screen time) would be that the kinetic energy didn't look that great. It was way too scarce, the impact was too small, they didn't glow enough, though I thought having his finger tips glow was a nice touch.
One of the only things I liked about X-Men origins wolverine was Gambit. In my opinion they got him right. If he really gets his own movie (which he deserves, he among Nightcrawler and Deadpool is one of my favorite X-men characters) I hope they get Taylor back and not Channing Tatum I mean wtf?!
No he wasn't Honestly though I will even take a bad gambit over no gambit at all. I can't believe they have left him out of all the Xmen movies. Being a lifelong citizen of New Orleans of cajun descent it kind of pisses me off.
Gambit deserves his own movie... he is a fan favorite just like Wolverine. I don't understand how they just keep shiting on him. He is not even in UMvC3 FFS T__T
They wanted his eyes to glow when he used his powers. If his eyes were glowing all the time it would have been too cartoony. They said this on the Blu-Ray featurette
While I would love to see Taylor Kitsch return as Gambit, I'm not gonna knock Channing Tatum unitl I at least see a trailer or screenshot or something. Since seeing the Joker in Dark Knight I've learned not to judge something before seeing it in action. My biggest hope above all is that Gambit, regardless of whos playing him, will have an important role in the movie, particularly since we're bringing in Apocalypse and possibly Mr. Sinister.
He wasn't a bad Gambit, he just still had that Friday Night Lights TX accent instead of a true N.O. cajun accent. At times you could hear like when he said "May I deal you in?" to Logan. Dude from True Blood that played Rene in the first season and also plays on Terriers would be a perfect Gambit if they decide to bring him back to film.
I love Taylor and I think he did a fine job as Gambit. I would have liked it better if he had the eyes and I would have loved it if he had the accent but he was still a good actor. I blame the director and that. Also, disappointed since I am a huge GambitXRogue!
no rogue/gambit, a cajun accent that disappears about 2 minutes into his dialogue, and eyes that flicker red. this is not gambit, sorry chere. they better be redoing this

@shoNuuff My problem is, yes they might've turned red when he used his power, however. That's who Gambit has always been, sine birth he'd had red and black eyes, even when NOT using his power. Hence why he was abandoned as a baby and grew up in the streets, and hence why his name is Le Diable Blanc. :/ I was disappointed in the lack of his CONSTANT eye color, and I wish they'd spent more time on him throwing the cards and the energy signatures on them. Hopefully next film they'll fix it a bit
@theboondocks01 Yeah it was Belladonna's brother, he did not want his sister marrying someone from the Thieves guild and also he did not want peace between the two guilds so he challenged Gambit to a fight in which Gambit ended up killing him. I think a Gambit spin-off (prequel leading up to the Wolverine film) will be a very good way to get the fans in. After all they are making a Magneto and even a Deadpool film.
Ugh, why not keep him?? He did well in a horrible movie! Channing Tatum is not a good actor and I cannot even to begin to try and imagine him in the role. Taylor was great!

they should make a rouge and gambitt movie, and as much as i like the actress playing rouge in the old movies they should get a new one, i mean she looked scred and terrified all the time and that is not rouge she is strong and badass and still manages to be one the good side, and gambit i think he did a nice job but it was not much screen timee...iceman and rouge was not even funny..esp when he cheated on her i mean thats when gambit should have appeared
@CaspperTheAssassin gambit first appeared briefly in Uncanny X-Men Annual #14 (1990), weeks before a more comprehensive appearance in Uncanny X-Men #266 (August 1990). (which the character "Flirts" with character Wolverine.) spoke of in wizard: the comic magazine with Stan lee and Jack Kirby
soooo. why didnt they mention how they messed up the 1. Eyes 2. accent 3. how he only used his powers on his cards for 1 scene. 4. how he got as much time as venom when fans have been dying for him from the freakin beginning.
Tatum can't be Gambit!!! Tatum could be... The Thing (Fantastic Four) or something similar, NOT Gambit! Stewart IS Professor X., McKellen definitely Magneto and I am almost convinced that Jackman has adamantium skeleton and claws in real life. All you need, is to give Kitsch an x-men suit and a trench coat, and there... you 've got Gambit!
@CordeliaDoyle - the producers said that putting contacts on him would be too "distracting" but I do agree w/ you. they altered his appearance a lot. from the coat, his accent & the way he charges up the cards but nonetheless, Taylor did a good though.
