I'd say the Eureka and Dirt Devil are tied, with perhaps the Eureka narrowly edging it out as it produced less scattering. Interesting to note also that the Eureka appears to be the only one with a sustained "cyclone-like" effect going on inside of the dirt bin. As an owner of the Vibe, in my personal application I have noted no scattering, but you do have to go a little "slow" at times to allow it to catch all of what's in its path. It is not powerful enough to go for quick streaks like larger vacuums. That said, my sister also owned this Bissell in her small all-wood-floor home and it performed well with no problems. My final opinion is this -> first, what are you cleaning? Hard floors only? Get whichever is cheaper between the Bissell and Eureka at your time of purchase. I saw them often trade blows in discounts at times. Mix of hard floor and low-pile carpet? The Dirt Devil.
