Oh Mr.Roberts, you are a True Treasure. My Dads side of family came out of Ireland to Sheffield,Mass.,surrounding area. They werent well off yet each Brother,4 and 2 sisters.in the old country, they Always worked, trained, groomed Hackneys.i was told an awful lot,now i am 64. My Granpa had worked and trained the Horses. His lot in ireland was bringing the 2 and 3 yr olds up to learn to feel what a harness was and introduced in to using the carts and Carriages. And the nxt 2 were Uncle Frank and Thomas.Uncle Tommy had always loved the Hackney pony's.He warked for a Gentleman named James Cagney up in Stamfordville,N.Y. and was with Mr.Cagney until Uncle Tommy passed in the early 80s.Mr.Cagney loved having a line of Quarter horses with Morgans.t hey were unique.Uncle Tommys little Stallion,Sir Atom was Unreal.a True Spitfire. And Thomas would do the Hackney pony Rallys over the yrs. Many many blue,s few red, followed.Well,Mr Cagney and my Uncle took real pleasure in finding the Right Mare to be bred with Sir Atom.i was still quite young, maybe 6 or 7.And i just could not Wait. All That TIME.We went to see Uncle Tommy,Aunt Jackie, when my little guy was a week? Old.And i knew he would be mine When he was 2 1/2,Uncle Tommy brought me and my sister to stay for the winter break.Mr.Cagney had an in-door ring and i was taught the True Way of watching, loving, cooing, harnessing.mucking stalls and always, always your horse came first.Bobby Mcgee was his name.We were Together his Whole life.33 when he left me. I had a daughter,Kaity-Marie.And she took the nack at 4.Kaity brought new life to McGee.i went to take a pic..of her riding. He got in his Old Stance.Feet squared, eyes to the side a little, ears pricked right over and arching that Beautiful Neck.a few yrs after i came across the pic my Dad had taken.it took a few minutes to realize it was me anf first ribbon. But Mcgee, He Knw. Thank you for your Considerate Treatment of horse.Maybe it is an Irishmann Knack FOR Loving Life.katherine.12=27=19
