- There is SO MUCH to do in the Smokey Mountains! You can do the fun touristy stuff in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg... but you also need to get out into nature! We decided to jump into the Little River on tubes. This was so much fun AND it cooled us off from the summer heat! River Rat took care of everything providing the tubes, life jackets and pick you up at the end of the run. There are two sections of the river that you can float down and we did them both.
After some relaxing, we needed a jolt of adrenaline with a mountain coaster! This was awesome! We are roller coaster junkies and this experience is like nothing else. You are in your own mini coaster seat and you can control the speed... if you feel the need to slow down... but for us it was full steam ahead.
We end our day with a yummy BBQ dinner at the top rated BBQ joint in the area at Boss Hogg's BBQ Shack. They had great brisket and pulled pork and the sides were great too. A great ending to a great day in nature!

Next time you’re in the area, try Preacher’s Smokehouse. It’s out of town a bit but 100% worth the drive. We’ve had Boss Hogg’s and Preacher’s and we would pick Preacher’s every time!!😊

If you really love tubing you need to come to Mesa, AZ. The Salt River Tubing. Water temp is 68* all year round and outside temp is 118* so it feels good. You can load up a cooler with beers and food. It’s 2 or 4 miles and most times see wild horses drinking along the river. We stop counting after 30 horses. The best summertime activity when you have 5 weeks of excessive heat. It does have several areas of rapids but not too crazy!

Absolutely enjoyed your tubing adventures down Little River. My parents live in Townsend just up the road from where you got out of the river on your first float down. If school hadn’t already started I’d be taking my teen boys up for a visit and float down the river. Lots of fun things to do in Townsend and surrounding areas the next time you visit. You definitely should camp there for a few nights sometime.
Next time you visit Tennessee, consider making a stop in Memphis for some good barbecue and a good time on Beale Street. We would love to have you❤

If you go back, you really need to try Delauder’s BBQ, they are a top 7 for pulled pork in the country. They are a true family run hole in a wall place.

Check out Deep Creek in Bryson City NC. Close to Cherokee. Shorter than what you all went on but way more fun. The higher section is way more adventurous.
I've done that tubing and it is a BLAST! We took our own tubes and just paid them to transport us. We brought rope to tie us all up into a huge raft. We had 9 people and it is extreme fun!! I haven't done all the coasters yet but I've done more than 3. They're all great fun!
My grandkids did the Alpine Coaster at night in Dec.2022
Years ago, my husband and I along with our two boys were rafting down the Chattahoochee River. We had a six pack of coke tied onto the raft. They stayed really cold in the river, however, we hit some rapids and lost two of them! We love the Smokies and have enjoyed your vlog. Where else could Jason manage to get a beer thrown to him.....love that Southern Hospitality!!!
That is Townsend you're in they call it the quiet side of the smokies....

So exciting to see you both out enjoying LIFE in our great country! Your van looks very comfy and a great way to travel for sure ILO pulling around our 39' 5th wheel. Hope one day you can try an off road adventure with a video. The tubing looked like so much fun and a great way to cool off followed by the thrill of the coaster and the YUM of the bbq!
We are hoping to do this next week with our grandson. May do the whitewater rafting in nearby Hartford..would love to see y'all do it first! Lol😅
Worried about snakes in the river...that's my fear. Next time hike some trails to the waterfalls its beautiful. We love it there. Love the beach but theres something about those Smoky Mountains..love your videos!

I live in Florida and we go tubing at Rainbow River. The water can get to 20 feet deep and its crystal clear. It would be nice to not have to always be on the lookout for alligators though.
I believe that is the same river that another UA-cam family 2 In A Zoo has a cabin on . That looks so fun
IDK when y'all were there , but our mountains have had SO much rain lately. Y'all should do Cartecay in Ellijay, Georgia. There's whirlpools, rapids and a waterfall. It's not joke, but it's SO fun.

The sticks are to protect yourself from the snakes. :) I was raised in the area and seeing you tube on the Little T tickled me, brought back memories of tubing, and nearly being bitten by a snake and also wondering how I survived my childhood with out drowning. Great video!
Lots of the alpine coaters in Germany. I go to one that is 6 rides for 15 Euros !

We did the same tubing expedition and mountain coaster when we were in the Smokies in August 2020. We loved them both too. We saw a bear roaming around the bottom of the coaster as we were heading up. At first I thought it was an animatronic and then realized it was real.
We love River Rat. Had season passes a couple of years.

We go to the jeep outpost every year for topless in the smokies. It’s on the other side of that bridge where you got in the river.

Our family loves the Smokey mountains. Never been tubing but have done a few mountain coasters and they are pretty fun. Where did Jason get his sunglasses from? Like the wood frame.

I have enjoyed three visits to the Smokey Mountains region on both sides of the park and in all around the park. Great place with so much to do all over the area from Sevierville to Pigeon Forge to Gatlinburg to Cherokee and in-between. The North Carolina side is a lot less crowded and we enjoyed camping in our then 28' fifth wheel trailer at Smokemont (National Park) Campground near Cherokee. Wonderful campground but no hookups - do have nice bathroom buildings and water spigots per 2 sites but you can run a generator daytimes until about 7:00PM I think. Gee your Brisket BBQ and Pulled Pork sandwich look yummy. I will remember the place next time we venture across the Mississippi back to the East as we no longer live near the park.
Our first mountain coaster is going to be in the Swiss Alps next year!!!! Looks like you had an amazing time!
