- Join Kenny of All Trades as he escapes to a peaceful retreat, leaving behind the hustle and bustle of everyday life. No kayak or padel needed, just a serene setting and a truck camper for some rejuvenating dry camping experience.
This week I headed into the Foothills State Forest. I tried to make it into a spot that I have never camped at before. Unfortunately, the trails were not in good shape. So, I made my way on to tax forfeit land and found a quiet escape on a small lake. I finally got the new kayak in the water. I was really surprised at how well it handled. I will definitely be doing some fishing from it real soon. I don't think Toby will be able to come with, it is not that stable, but we will still make it work. All in all, it was a good weekend. Breakfast was good, supper was better, and the weather was awesome.
My buddy Larry called me today on my lunch break. He asked how the video turned out. I told him it all went fine. There were beautiful views, sketchy trails, good food and lots relaxing. I hope it don't make for a boring video. I know I have some new viewers joining. I hope they understand that my videos show how the weekend goes for Toby and me. It's not always riveting content, but it's always real life, and better then mowing the lawn on Saturday afternoon.
I talked to the shoulder surgeon this week. Unfortunately, she said the shoulder has severe arthritis and needs a total replacement. The bone fragment that is floating around has nothing to do with my arm locking up. It's because the shoulder socket looks like a gravel pit. You can see all the ridges that are locking the arm in place. So, for now we wait......
Thanks for following along on this weekend's adventure. Toby and I will see you next Tuesday.
Kenny and Toby
The good news is that the bone fragment from my colllar bone has nothing to do with my shoulder locking up. The bad news is that sevear arthritis has ruined the shoulder socket. It needs total replacement. I'll see how long I can get by with cortisol shots into the arm. That's where that situation is.
Oh dang!! 😮 You are the toughest thing in those woods aren't you!
Cortisone shots are the best! They have been holding my knee up for years. You’ll know when the time is right. Prayers for healing.
May be a result of eating scavenger/pork.
Hope you get your shoulder sorted very soon....all the best..
Wishing you all the best with your shoulder situation Kenny. Take good care and happy summer!
Using a shovel as a paddle for a pop-up kayak has got to be one of the most Minnesota thing I have seen.
Had me laughing!😂But hey it worked!
The mirror image on the lake at dusk was simply amazing. Your photography is spectacular. You certainly live in a very beautiful part of the world
Thank you for taking us along….Toby certainly enjoyed himself and supper looked delicious…..💫
Toby looks like a changed dog! He’s so happy to be out in the woods.
Definitely!
Thank You for yet another Amazing Adventure with you & Toby! It was Wonderful...you have such a calm, soothing voice...you are a delight to listen to Kind Sir! I love that Toby has his own camp chair, you are such a good Daddy for Toby!
Kenny, you might want to consider listing your PayPal or whatever for donations. I know, you don’t like that. Hey, what you’re doing costs money and getting thanks from us for that effort isn’t wrong. I know I’ve learned a lot from you and would love to send some thanks. Think about it.
I second this for sure!
Toby is living his best life .... another great video👍👍👍
Shovel, Yes a country boy will survive, Outstanding
I can't stop laughing, when Isaw you brought the shovel out to paddle with it!! Very creative ^_^ LOL
Who needs to go to Alaska when we live in one of the most beautiful states in the world, I'm just saying
North Carolina is next most beautiful we have the ocean, mountains. Sand hills and lots and lots of lakes. I've started on my journey to find the hidden lakes in NC.
Toby is the perfect companion.Hes so laid back. I loved this video, thanks. The weather is perfect❤🇬🇧
For what Kenny puts in these videos he should be past the 100K subscriber mark. Truly! amazing and beautiful, peaceful videos. They never disappoint! Share these with your friends guys, and hit that like button! Thank you Kenny, onto the rest of your video!
💯
Completely agree!
Couldn’t agree more!!
Agree , as a small UA-camr myself I know the amount of work I put in so I know he does
I couldn't agree more! Remember to hit that like button, share his videos with others. Watch at least 30 seconds of the commercials, this helps the algorithm and helps pay Kenny. Great guy, and pup!
Forgetting the paddle, now that's reality TV. LOL Thanks for the ride.
Love hanging out with you & Toby! 😊
Wait Kenny! Don't leave yet. I'm on my way with the ice cream. It will be a few minutes though, I'm coming from Texas!
When you pulled out the shovel!Kenny of all Trades for real❤
Tuesdays are THE BEST days! Always love your videos!
So soothing!
Hi Kenny & Toby I will say that paddle is funny shit LOL, Toby is learning so good what a good boy he is. Stay safe see ya next week
Your skills and attitude humble me. What a great bedtime story. Thanks!
The rhubarb strawberry crumble looked amazing. A wonderful relaxing camping video and as always just love cute Toby.
Yay ! Toby Tuesday is finally here!!
I had a reverse shoulder replacement done about 6 years ago and love it. I have nearly full range of motion. The pain I was experiencing was excruciating and I no longer could work. Immediately after surgery, there was no pain. I wish I hadn't waited so many years to have it done. Good luck.
My husband and I truly look forward to each and every one of your videos Kenny and Toby. Neither of us are strong and healthy enough to enjoy getting outdoors ourselves, so your work enables us to see so many beautiful places and enjoy your company 💞.
God bless you for your hard work to bring so much happiness to so many!!!
You are in our thoughts and prayers 🙏. My husband has needed a hip replacement for years, we know something of your pain and suffering. Hugs!
Kenny another awesome video. I ate dinner a while ago I see your making a delicious dessert . You woke a sleeping giant in my stomach and I have to go eat something. Jajaja Thank you again hope you feel better.
Deja Vu ! You bring back so many great memories of camping and fishing, for us it was whenever we could get a couple days off our shifts we both were crazy about. Hope all goes well with your decision and result.
Keep on camping 👍💕
Kenny, so sorry to hear about the shoulder joint. I know you are living with some pretty intense pain at times. I had a knee that was trashed due to O.A. stemming from the car mishap when I was six. At about 40 I was started on cortisone, steroid, synvisc joint injections. My Doc. was super: her nurse would go grab a ultra sound machine so they could slide that needle exactly where it needed to be. I made it to 46 before they did the total knee replacement. I had soft bones so they had to put six inch metal extensions on the new knee that went down the Tibia and up the Femur. Turned out the soft bone was caused by 4 tumors on my thyroid that were stealing the calcium from my carcass. That was 21 years ago. The joint replacement was the best thing I ever did.
Your adventurous spirit and courage in escaping to a forest campsite are truly commendable. Despite the challenges, your journey reflects a remarkable resilience and love for nature.
And I Am Floating Village Life
Thank you so much! I'll have to check out your channel.
Toby is the best! You really lucked out with him!
Mr. Toby is pure sweetness 🌻
I love your drone coverage of lakes, woods and trails and could watch it for hours.
It hasn't been that long ago, life sure looks more enjoyable with your loyal sidekick. Great adventure, great show. Thanks
I fell off a shed roof over eight feet high because of stupidity working on a frozen surface and broke my clavicle in two places and had to have surgery to put in a j plate, one year later it came out and now on my third year with it being almost back to normal, but still can’t raise my arm over my head. All I can say is find the right doctor like I did and thats half the battle. Love the Dutch oven crisp now on my list. I did a thick crust pizza in mine last weekend turned out perfect.
I've been told a clavicle break is the most painful break. I hurt for you, praying you make a full recovery.
@@aliceevans3357 I was given some morphine for a day or two, then oxycontin, but the dreams were so weird I got off them after two days, I used Tylenol 100’s but used them very little as my pain threshold is high. I had a rope hanging from the ceiling to pull myself up out of bed for about a year. You’re right it’s not an easy recovery for sure, thanks for the prayer.
Thats a long time to be out of commission. I couldn't imagine.
@@KennyOfAllTrades being that I’m retired since 2015 it just slowed me down a bit for about a year, but now doing everything I did before the fall, and living through the pain, jet tub just about every night to relax, I just can’t sit around wasting time and energy.
Kenny, I am going to be praying for your shoulder. I’d hate to see you suffer and it to prevent you from working and doing what you love to do and us watching you do it! My God is able!
Shovel as paddle! Innovative! Toby is looking good. Rhubarb crisp? Oh yaa!👍😎🇨🇦🐾
If I would’ve left my 11 month old German Shepherd in the camper like that, every piece of electronic would have iended up in his belly. I can’t believe Toby doesn’t chew all that stuff. Glad to see how well he’s doing with your dog training.
I got really lucky. He has never shown an interest in chewing on anything. With some of
The other dogs I've had in the past. My computer mouse would have been chewed up. The remote would have been gone forever. And the carpeting would be pulled off of the dinette.
Toby's getting big🎉 he's going to be a great companion ❤
Toby is lucky. Just plain lucky.
And get a second opinion on that shoulder.
Thanks! I think I'm gonna do that.
Without a paddle. Great movie
I can learn a lot from you cooking all your yummy food 👍❤️
I always look forward to your vlogs and don't think their non-riveting at all! 😊 Toby helps bring good energy to your channel as well! Prayers for the shoulder replacement. Getting old sucks! I suffered a traumatic knee injury but thank God I didn't need a knee replacement! That dessert dinner looked absolutely delish!!
Kenny we sure hope you can still create content if you have your surgery. I don’t know what we would do without your Tuesday videos.
Winner winner cobbler dinner. Nicely done K and T!
Beautiful campsite. Love the sound of nature.
Thanks Kenny that was real sweet my Friend 👍🤗🏋️♀️🤺☦️
I have been meaning to say what a great place you shared. Never used a shovel to paddle with . I would have added a cord to the handle secured to me or the boat in case I dropped it. 😊
Great tip!
Hi Kenny. Love your videos. I am a NJ girl, and have never been to Minnesota. I have camped my entire life and wish I could go with you. My spouse just died. It was unexpected and sudden. My life has changed. Watching your videos has helped me.
If you ever come to NJ let me know. I will take you to the Pine Barrens. Thanks
I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm glad you can find a small escape in the videos.
Love watching the Foothills State forest videos cause I live in Backus and go there all the time with my wheelers and camp out! Been to every spot you were! Keep up the good videos!
My wife and I have a 33 foot 5th wheel RV that we enjoy, but after watching your videos every week, you have me looking at truck campers as an option.
Check out several of the couples that full-time in a Truck Camper. Couples need time apart, and there are plenty of options when TC.
Thanks Kenny! I can now make it through the rest of the week now being chill and kind to one another…..❤
Love the videos. They're so peaceful. May God be with you in your health decisions, and journey. Praying for you.
The Kayak, Chainsaw, and Dessert are sweet, but making Morning Coffee with nothing but the Break of Dawn , Awesome ! 🔥
Beautiful spot for camping. Toby enjoys every minute of camping , such a beautiful well behaved dog. I have fallen in love with Toby, l love his colour. I think that fire pit is one of the nicest I have ever seen. I think it would be less dangerous to use in the woods. I really enjoy your videos as you have everything planned out organized so well . Your videos are so relaxing, you choose such nice places to camp. I was a bit concerned when you went out without a life jacket because of your shoulder. I am not a worrying person I just thought what if, it’s best to be prepared just in case . Until next video thanks for sharing.
Thanks! A few people commented about the life jacket. I'm wearing one. It fits really well. I had the same concern as you. I'm not a floater...I sink...but I do know how to swim. This jacket allows a lot of movement and fits really well.
Dang, sorry about the shoulder news. Tough decisions ahead. This was so peaceful and just what I needed. We are going on our first truck camping adventure of the year this weekend. Shakedown. Have a great week. Toby is king of the Gooder Boys!
Have fun!
Watching and laughing with you on the lake with your shovel, with the sound of rain on the top of our Wolf Creek. ( Although not in as nice of a camping spot. )
Hubby had a reverse total shoulder replacement and hasn’t looked back, all good and he was older. No more pain or impingements. Wishing you well with your decision.
The strawberry and rubarb bake looks delicious you have a nice setup thank you for sharing 😊
A shovel as a paddle, I almost spit out my coffee laughing 😂 And those of us who look forward to your videos were not surprised. Love Love rhubarb. Perfect. Toby is awesome! Good luck with your shoulder. Be well.
😁
Enjoyed again, Kenny and Toby, cortisone shots, Watch out, TICKS❤
Another outstanding video. I look forward to them every week.
Don't need no stinking paddle you can command the water to take you where you need to go! 🙂
Love seeing you and Toby. He is precious.😊
Having a 21 foot travel trailer has its advantages .. .. . . . .but so does your setup with the truck camper ! : ) You can get places I can't even dream about.
I would love the space in a pull behind. I can definitely see the advantages in a 21 footer. It's not too big, but it still gives you space.
Toby looks so much happier now from when you first introduced him to us. He’s got a good life!
For sure. I remember bringing him from the shelter into the camper for a video. He was so scared.
As a fellow 285lber, those fold up kayaks have always scared the Holy BUCKETS out of me. You’re braver than me.
I was thinking it was gonna fold up like a cheap lawn chair! But it was surprisingly sturdy.
Awesome video Kenny. And yessss Milwaukee chainsaw heck yes !!!
Kenny thanks for this weeks video. Have a great week.
Totally enjoyed this weeks V, Toby is the best dog for you and is so sweet and cute. Your cookiing went great I swear you can cook a leather shoe over the camp fire and it would taste great.. My husband had his shoulder replace everything went fine, just like new.. Good luck with what ever you decide but sooner you have it done the better because you are young and will recover fast
Thank you. I appreciate your comment. I was thinking the same.
I added comment but now can't find it.
So will write it out again.
Great video Kenny and Toby really great to see you mate.
Love the lakes
W😮w.
You tired Toby out going for the walk he was snoring so much.
Sorry to hear about your news on your shoulder mate, I never had a cortisone injection in my shoulder so I hope it goes well for you.
When does the treatment start Kenny????
Take care mate ❤
Thanks! I'm still undecided on how to go about the shoulder. I'm gonna talk with another doctor about the options. The surgeon only gave the two, shots or replacement. I'm curious if there's anything else that can be done. Supplements or therapy?
Enjoying your videos immensely just started watching, your videos today and I am enjoying them all👍🏼
I really appreciate that. I'm glad you found the channel.
Loved the canoe.
Kenny thanks for all the hard work and quick turnaround on publishing the videos. Oh and Toby is a great looking pup.

Oh By The Way LARRY Sent me

thank you for your videos, so relaxing!
Reminds me of Granny's rhubarb/mulberry little fried pies. One of those and a glass of milk made you happy for hours.
Prayer for His discernment and healing regarding your shoulder going forward Kenny. Loved the views and the shovel...lol!
Bravo Toby. Good job listening and behaving.Kenney you also are doing a great training job. Keep up the good work
You do a really great job of filming and editing. I've been watching for a while, and I really enjoy your adventures. Thanks for sharing. It's often tough being by one's self and doing what you do. Good luck !
Toby got so big🐶
I love the sounds of nature for your soundtrack. I grew up in Maine and it really brings back memories.
The forest makes a great soundtrack. 👍
Oh yes. My week is complete. I’m going to settle with Kenny and everyone during my break at work.

Toby is such a good dog
Tobby is such a nice dog.
Nice job adapting with the shovel….. that’s why your “kenny of all trades”. I bet there are some big bass in that lake. Thanks as always for sharing your adventures with us 🎅
Surly look forward to you & Toby's video's. He is really a great companion, and he certainly loves his life you can tell. Thanks for your hard work in finding such beautiful & peaceful places to shoot the videos & camp. I pray for ease in your shoulder & the injections gives you ease of pain. You have a great week Kenny & Toby. Don't forget to say hello to Mandi & Tilli❤
The kayak with the shovel was priceless!! Good for you making it work!! I've never seen a kayak like that, but seems sturdier than the inflatables. Sweet Toby, bolting from his chair when he smelled that bacon, too cute! He's doing so well with his training, very impressive. I'm definitely going out to buy rhubarb tomorrow after seeing your dessert. That looked delicious! Another beautiful spot in spite of the crazy bugs.
That Toby is a smart boy. 😊👍
Hi Kenny, I'm Jason ntmu. I'm literally your neighbor, lower Michigan south of Ann Arbor. Toby looks like such a good happy boy, he loves his daddy. Your videos are simple and I enjoy watching each and every one of them especially with Toby.
Very cool! I appreciate you following along.
Hey Kenny, thanks for sharing your weekend. I think if Toby gets any bigger, you’re going to have to make the dinette into a whole bed.
Kenny, you are absolutely incredible!
Nice new chainsaw.
Back in the 60's growing up in Scotland our treat was a paper bag with sugar and a stick of rhubarb, once you had a sook at the rhubarb you'd dip it in the sugar, oh happy days ❤
The good life. I bet kids don't do that much anymore.
@@KennyOfAllTradesanother was stewed rhubarb poured over tea biscuits, no wonder I love rhubarb so much
As an open water / ocean kayaker I had a good laugh…I’d never go out in that boat but kudos to you. Great way to explore all the awesome camp sites you visit. Keep the videos coming…enjoy my Tuesday nights…thanks!!!
Thanks 👍
I just loved this video, using the shovel was ingenious, made me laugh
Had a shoulder replacement in 2021. Takes about 4 months to heal but survived it. Wish I'd done it sooner. Be careful with too much cortizone, etc. Also do no let drs use triamcinelone injections. Messes with weight and BP. BP refuses to go back to pre-op levels.
Good to know. Thanks!
Improvise I love it!
Wow great idea.use shovel..smart👍
Another awesome video Kenny...thank you for taking us along....that rhubarb crunch looked so good!
Thanks for watching
