Tbh on the first watch, I think Tillman was great in his defensive work as a 6. In possession, he would often receive the ball in really tight spaces and do his best to maintain possession of get fouled. I think I also remember Busio pressing as a 10/9, similar to McKennie. My theory is that the qualities that make Tillman a great 10 in the Netherlands, make him a decent 6 against stronger defenses. Not sure if Poch will continue to play him that way though considering Tessmans performance.
For now I'm OK with McKenzie paired with Richards, and trying to get those two as many games together as possible over the next year. It's a pairing that makes a lot of sense in terms of complimentary skills and left-sided/right-sided CBs. However, McKenzie needs to step up better in big moments for me to gain more confidence in him. Perfect example was from last night. He was in prime position to clean-up the mistakes by Scally and Ream leading up to the PK. But he came over hesitantly with a soft posture even though he had a clear/unobstructed play on the ball. A proper CB really needs to physically disrupt that play when given the chance. I'd also prefer to have a CB that is taller than 6' even. I worry about McKenzie being exposed in aerial battles depending on certain matchups.
Pete! Bro I respect you and your acumen SO much you're the only honest person on Tessman The game passed him by for the most part in the first half but everyone is tripping over themselves to glaze Tessman and his performance It's like everyone is SO thirsty for Tessman to be this USMNT star they blind themselves to what he actually does Thank you for having the ONLY realistic and honest take on Tessman you're appreciated
@@timothymartensen9040same but Robinson for me, I think he’s terrible. Offensively and defensively. Just look at the highlights, defending air in the dangerous moments for Jamaica
@timothymartensen9040 there's definitely a Tessman agenda at play And okay he FINALLY got his start but if you honestly watched him he struggled in the first half on Aidan Morris levels Now everyone is grading his performance like it was dominant
Agreed. Tessmann really doesn't impress me. There were two plays in particular that stood out to me from last night, both actually in the first half while we had the better part of the possession. First, he had a moment with the ball around edge of the 18, wasn't really in a shooting posture, and hadn't controlled the ball well. But he still decided to strike a shot that he sent absolutely sailing. It was a clear example of low soccer IQ combined with lacking the talent to pull off what he was trying. Second, he had a super routine sideways pass out to Scally that he missed by 15 yards or so, sending Scally running to keep the ball in play (which he did). You can't be considered a reliable CM if you can't play such a routine pass without disrupting the flow of the play and forcing your teammate into scramble mode. Even more than those two emblematic moments, I think the general tone the game took during the second half, with Jamaica maintaining more possession and generating waves of attacks, demonstrates that our midfield was being outmatched. As the CM in the position most resembling a #8 within the lineup last night, it's really a black-mark in my opinion to have been outperformed by an inferior team's midfield for such a long stretch at a critical time in the game.
@chrishenderson1262 and I don't "hate" Tessman at all I mean there's a level of resentment and scrutiny due to me recognizing an obvious agenda to insert him into the mix inorganically I DO see his value should Adams and Johnny and Busio and Musah ALL get hurt at the same time But I think McKennie and Busio or Busio and Musah are better pivots than Tessman heck even LDLT is just as serviceable But even the thumbnails from last night's game all feature Tessman and I'm wondering what's going on with the hive mind agenda at play They're trying to push Morris on us too and he looks worse than Tessman does
I think trusty is developing well in Scotland and could potentially start in the prem again next season, we should give him a shot. Trusty, Richard, & McKennzie doesn’t seem like a bad back line at all. Maybe even throw Anrie Chase in there.
A bit high on Pepi. After the goal he was absolutely invisible the rest of the game. Musah is decent at most positions but consequently, he is good at none. I hope Aaronson is still sick on Monday because if not he could put a wrench into the lineup you would put out on Monday.
It was scrappy. The first 20 minutes, especially considering the goat pasture of a field, I liked some of the sequences we were creating. After that it became an absolute crap show. Tillman still looks meh. I like the look with McKennie at the "10". He's more creative than I think we can give him credit for. McKenzie was lights out minus the PK give up. I am very curious to see how we do on a better pitch. Very sad Johnny got hurt though.
You do know that player's are "coached" to say random non-committal stuff. Or have you never watched sports interviews until now. Also, Ream did not use his elbow the ball hit him at the shoulder. Both the center and the VAR agreed it wasn't a penalty. Finally, why do you hate Musah so much? Did he steal your GF in HS?
man that pitch was awful, I feel really bad that the Jamaican FA can't get a pitch worthy of the talent that Jamaicans display round the world. Ream probably should've picked up a yellow card when he kicked Damian Lowe in the gut in the first half. Tessman shouldn't have been playing as an 8. I don't understand why Tillman keeps getting played so deep. Musah I think has to convert to RB at the national team level especially considering how much similarly qualified talent we do have available in the midfield. And man oh man do I ish Lennard Maloney as in this squad.
We all fall short of God and we are all not worthy of Heaven but are worthy of hell, but Jesus out of pure love for us, died on the Cross and was tortured so we don’t have to suffer, repent and turn to him before it’s too late.
I'm sorry about the video drifting in and out of focus, guys. The light in the hotel was very dim and wouldn't allow the webcam focus to stay steady.
We appreciate your consistent content even when on the road.
Ok, thought it was me. Lol
That's alright I was listening while playing fifa lol
had to listen to this rather than watch because of this, but it was still great as a pseudo podcast.

Pepi's goal was pretty sweet. He disguised the far post drag well. Great technique. Hope he gets another Mon.
Happy with the win, 100% need to start finding the next man up for Ream.

Pochettino, Mindset is the timeless African Proverb- When there is no enemy within the enemy outside cannot hurt you 😳🤔
When your intro starts, my brain goes straight to Even Flow by Pearl Jam.
To hear that USMNT hasn’t won an away game against another top 6 CONCACAF team is….quite appalling
We beat Honduras away in like 2021 or 2022
Not a top 6 team I think. Remember that was the group of 8 @@RobertIzaguirre-w1x
Pochettino is bringing out the hunger of the Lions 🦁 out of the United States Team 😳🤔
at the end, I think you meant to say CP on left and Weah on the right. You reversed them.

1 striker can't do it all. When he had the opportunity he held up play, scored his goal, best he can do besides then into Messi
Dang Zendejas not even a mention
How bad are things when a 1-0 win in Jamaica is historic
After 5 years of GGG.. yes, this is historic lol.. should be nothing but positive from here on out

Ngl, the intro is very 2007 ish 😂😂
Historic 😂😅..lol
Tessman 4.5 and Tillman 3.5 is harsh imo
Didn’t we beat Honduras in 2022 World Cup qualifiers?
Yes, but that doesn't fit with the narrative.

All for the high standards
We beat honduras remember? Unless you dont rate honduras up there.
They ranked about 7th or 8th
They got 8th in the Ocho.
But not at the time when they were beaten. I would say 5 or 6 at the time.@@11Yanks

We had some close calls. Could have easily been a draw or even a loss.

Pochettino isn't responsible for this win. 1-0 off a shanked goal?
