Clarification: Medtronic collaborated with DreaMed Diabetes, a developer of diabetes treatment and management software systems founded by leading academics, on the algorithm development of the MiniMed™ 780G system. Portions of DreaMed’s software was combined with algorithm developed by Medtronic.
Do you have any idea of what the cost is in the UK for the 780G ?
Thank you

By the way... Did you mention that this new pump comes with bluetooth? 😂😂😂
I forgot but Alexa did it ....... 😂😂😂
Thank you for the great review! One of the important features of the 780G is the adjustable rate of insulin delivery, 1.5u/min or 15 u/min. I am hoping that the higher rate of delivery will prevent my post prandial highs.
I am currently in the process of upgrading from a Medtronic Paradigm 723 to a 770G. I live in the USA. Also it should be noted that the 770G is upgradable to the 780G via the internet.
Have A Sparkling Day! John P McLaughlin Sr
Hope you have upgraded to your 780 pump! I’m beyond excited with this pump and never have to worry about night low’s it’s such a blessing!
Wishing you the best!!
Nice video Kamil, you look great in bloo :) :)
Great update. I already sold my soul to Tandem for the next 4 years so not for me but looks really interesting! Stay safe Kamil!
It’s great to have choice 😊
I still have 2 years left with tandem BUUUUUT Medtronics has a special trade in program buy back and thats what im doing. Call them n try it.
Would you help me, and answer some questions, how long does it take to charge the battery on the Tslim, is it as easy to refill the pump as a Medtronic pump. Is the pump flimsy or is it well built, are you within your range with the pump now at pretty much all the time .....thank you in advance
I would love a comparison of T-Slim Control IQ with 780G SmartGuard. Needing to buy a new pump and am torn between T-Slim and 780G. thanks
Medtronic made the first cgm and still now the guardian 3im wearing is regularily 6.0mmol off even with 2x calibrations a day or more.. ive zero faith in the guardian 4... what I do know is that dexcom is accurate and has always been, I used original dexcom and just ordered a years worth.. sending my 780 back and go he'll with guardian.. medtronic promises lots but tslim HAS verified what works.. this is my experience.
Sandy can I ask what did you choose and are you happy with your choice? I'm making the same decision at the moment! Leaning towards tandem. I want to be flexibel and often had problems with the 670g algorithm.
I went with the 780G because of the stability of Medtronic over Tandem. The algorithm has been amazing for minimizing my highs. Love the 7 day extended wear sensor. My sis, also T1D went with the 780G & G4. Her lows are gone! She loves it too!
i heard rumours about it having Bluetooth
care to confirm or deny?
im so thrilled with this news, specially the guardian 4 info since with my adhd i always forgot to calibrate and therefore this type of sensor didn't do justice for me although the whole closed loop system works tremendously. so with this information i have the best of both worlds, closed loop with a sensor that doesn't need daily calibration two times. do you have any idea what predictions are when they launch it? i can choose a new pump in a few months and in the Netherlands you have it for 4 years so its a huge thing for me to be sure to choose the right one...
I'm in the same situation here in the US. My Minimed 630g expires in 3 days and I'm due for my new pump. I've leaning towards the tandem tslim x2 because I already have the dexcom G6 sensor and love it. I know guardian 3 stinks because it's less comfortable and you have to calibrate often. I'm wondering when they plan to roll out the guardian 4 because I want the best pump and sensor cus I'm stuck with it for the next 4 years.
@@caseywood5064 so frustrating that its 4 years with all those new technologies atm. it feels like a life changing tool and you're stuck with it longer than some people stay on the same job... tandem for me hasn't got enough possibilities so in my situation not an option certainly because my diabetes team is also open for looping
Netherlands dude too here.
My 670g expires this October, I've been offered to switch now already to the 780g but the 670g was a total (and dangerous) flop for me so I'm really nervous to just go with it now you know?
On the other hand, waiting even more months while a new and better pump could help massively in getting me back into stable diabetes is a hell
Did you go for it? If so, how are you finding it??
I love my tandem tslim
Here in Canada we receive the news in the world of diabetes so late ...
All of this because of our health system which blocks new products to do more tests.
I have just embarked on the process with my program to have the 'latest' medtronic pump: the 670G.
And 1 month later they released the 780G in Europe ... In Canada we will have access to it in 3-4 years.
Medtronic was slow implementing Bluetooth which appears you’ve never heard of or are overly impressed with technology that has been available for years. You didn’t mention cost? Until they do away with finger pokes and extend the sensors operating lifespan it’s not for me. I still have nightmares over how poorly their previous sensors operated. Thanks
Can you say what product you do use, please?
Hello everyone
I'm getting the 780g next Friday. But here, in France, the guardian link 3 is not yet funded by our health-care system. As soon as it is (sooner first trimester 2021, later first semester 2021. It's very soon actually ! Studies are ending here) I'm getting the closed loop. I can give you a review as soon as I get the pump first and then the sensor :)
Hi I am a type 1 diabetic since 1964. Today I have a Medtronic 640 Insulin-pump. it is soon 4 years old. The pump is ok, but the guardian sensors are almost useless! I use the type3-sensors as they are aimed for the 670-pump because I thought they must be more reliable then... NO! I am interested in The 780-pump, but I want to use it together with a DEXCOM sensor! The TIDEPOOL team are working at that possibility I have heard. But its not easy to get information about the progress. That solution, combined width a smart-watch is what I really should prefer to have! Could you please check what is happening at that front?
Hi. I totally agree with you Sven. I am also wondering when more info is available regarding tidepool, dexcom and Medtronic 780 integration. Currently I’m using Medtronic 554 and Dexcom G6, and a pump upgrade is possible in the near future. T:Slim x2 looks also interesting but there’s no information when it’s available here in Finland. I been diabetic since 1987. Samma på svenska.
Hey bud, great review. Lovein the 780g but can you get the app to work on your Apple Watch??
I am also very curious- will the data be available on Apple Watch like with Dexcom?
I live in USA and I’ve just started on my 780g pump and I’m so excited and happy about this! Thank you so much for this great video!
Nice information. Do you have any insight as to whether they will come out with a sensor that's easier to put on? Like the Dexcom looks very easy to pop on but the medtronics sensor takes two people and four hands to strap on behind your arm
Thanks for the great review. I love the 670G but the sensor is the weakest link. Hopefully the 780G sensor is much more reliable and at least competitive with the upcoming dexcom sensor/tandem system. Last I heard was that the 780 will get FDA approval and roll out in the USA spring of 2022.
Yeah, the 670G CGM was okay, but ended up being a nightmare for me. I was testing my blood sugar way more while having the sensor on than I did without it, because the numbers were so unreliable, which sort of defeats the purpose of a CGM. Also, ALL THE CALIBRATIONS were terrible.
I got the 780G this week, and I couldn't be happier. I don't know if you've tried the Guardian 4 by now, but it's an amazing improvement to the Guardian 3. It's precise right from the get go, straight from the "warm up period" of 2 hours. I've only had to "force" it to calibrate twice this week, because it was off by 2 mmol/L (36 mg/dL), and that was only after prolonged inactivity, from having a migraine attack which left me bedridden for an entire day. It becomes more precise when you're active throughout the day, like walking around and doing your daily chores - probably because of the increased blood and fluid circulation under the skin.
So I am new to get my new pump tomorrow but I am so torn. I was convinced that I want to get the tandem tslim x2 because I currently have the dexcom G6 and love it. I find it to be super accurate and I hardly have to calibrate. I currently have the Minimed 630 G. I have always used Minimed. I like them but I found the guardian sensors to suck. Any idea if the guardian four is coming out anytime soon and if it will be a vast improvement on its predecessor? Also does this one have Bluetooth? Because that would be cool not To have to connect to a computer for updates. I thought I was ready for the tslim but this video has me back on the fence. I guess it all depends on the guardian 4. Hope you can shed some light on that. Thank you so much.
Guardian 4 is still in development and timeline have not been announced yet so it won’t be fast.
@@Nerdabetic sad face. Oh well. I only hear bad things from guardian 3. I guess tslim it is. Thank you again so much! Wish me luck.
Tubeless Pump is a must for me so I use Omnipod, Dexcom G5 with Samsung S20+ & S3 Watch with readings that I find great. So not for me here in France. Fell out with Apple years ago after the death of Steve Jobs. Like your videos very much. 💖 Now for some log-splitting ready for the woodburner later, dropping cold here near Bordeaux.
Damn is it Bluetooth tho?
I cant answer that, but does it have B-L-U-E-T-O-O-T-H?
I have only one question: does the Medtronic MiniMed 780G uses bluetooth?
ROFLMAO
Yes
I’m not sure he mentioned Bluetooth. LOL
Is this sensor better than the sensor in medtronic 670g? I do not trust a system that does not get glucose monitoring right. 670g sensor did not work good enough for me.
This is such great news. By the way, I was a little confused - could you tell me - does it come with BlueTooth? 😉
Don’t believe these people who obviously been compromised.
Did he alreads mention the Bluetooth feature on that pump? I maybe missed it
How do you share your information with your family, only one person can download the app at a time
Had Dexcom, switched to Medtronic, after 4 years and fighting with insurance I am a dexcom lover. The Medtronic was not accurate for me, it was not comfortable, I would wear it closed loop and it would throw my sugars off not by much but saying I was 110 when I was 180 etc. I am five feet 108 pounds. I love my dexcom never will I switch from dexcom again. For those of you that have had a different experience I am glad that you find something that is working well for you. But for me I love my dexcom!
Nice to hear I am looking at switching to Dexcom/Tslim from my 670G and Guardian 3 sensor. The Medtronic sensor was really not comfortable to me and it would frequently hit blood vessels wherever I inserted it causing surprising levels of bleeding.
anyone else unable to get the app to work on android? tried two different phones and it just refuses to work
Hi Kamil!
Question: are you still on loop and using the Riley link? I would really like to know how it’s been going for you as I am getting on a pump soon
Love your channel!
Hey 👋🏻 yea I am on loop with omnipod. Might do a loop video 👀
@@Nerdabetic yes please! Omnipod is the pump I have in mind. I love that it’s tubeless! Thank you Kamil!
I just got the 770g!
flagship. sounds like an apple phone reference.
Finally....Bluetooth! Great video!
Great video, but you forgot to mention it has bluetooth
You make me smile. Great overview.
Great news. Do you know when the pump will be launched in Germany?
Don't run at android 12. Shame!
breaking new from canada we just got the libre 2 appoved still waiting for more word but it is coming here .
Nerdabetic yay😃
He forgot to mention it has bluetooth.
U guys do knmout how much it costs ?
Does it have Bluetooth?
H😢 do I update mine to the 780
im really surprised that any other company such as Omnipod that dont have any tubes. I personally use Omnipod and its sad that their way far away on technology and the new dash pump which i dont have and I dont know if i will get it because I dont really like the new one. i REALLY hope that medtronic or tandem will have tube free because I hate it. Because I used to have the animas pump before they shutdown.
I use a dexcome 7 cencer
But the most imporant question is: Does it have Bluetooth??
I guess we’ll never know🤷♀️😂
Thank you for your video Im getting my 780g next month and i am very nervous 😅😅 Ive been doing injections since 1998 😅😅
Is it in USA
Why is this Bluetooth such a thing? I already have bluetooth on my AccuCheck Combo. And that device is almost 10 years old.. :D
Medtronic make fantastic pumps, but they don't like the internet much. Anyone who's waited hours for pump to upload to carelink.....Now I've just received the 780G, but on downloading the minimed mobile app, it doesn't work on my modern android phone!
Here is what I think about Medtronic pump/CGMs. They are trash.
Tandem/dexcom is superior in (almost) every way.
The Dexcom GCM is more accurate, doesnt require callibrations, it even sticks better to the skin...
The pump is nicer and smaller. The only advantage the medtronic pump has is easier change of reservoir.
Can you pls explain.how we need to new transmitter connecting to pum..780g..
Does it have Bluetooth? :P
It has Blootooth instead 😂
What’s Bluetooth?😂😂
Hahaha. How do we spell it lol
Lol
How Bluetooth connection works for the pump if one is wearing other Bluetooth devices such as headphones? Bluetooth allow only one connection.
The Medtronic80G 2 weeks in use, i'm really satisfied. The only downside is that the app is not compatible on any smartphone. I've tried it on a new Samsung S20 FE, iphone 12 and samsung A70 and the app is not working!!!!
Best video on the 780g I found so far! Highly appreciated - thank you for also making it enjoyable to watch :)
Wow, thanks! Love to hear it
Does it have Bluetooth?😀 had mine now for a month ...much better than the 600series more aggressive when it comes to controlling your glucose
Hey
Is there any forum/page to contact medtronic and make devops request for the next software updates?
Thanks
I can’t wait, I’m picking mine up on Wednesday and set up Thursday online, I couldn’t be more excited :)
Perfect video..!! Did you know if I can see the parameters on apple watch like I see on my phone..?
Thankful for your information!!! It’s a pity here in Argentina it’s impossible to think we ll be able to get 780G in loooongg years 😭 I use 640G and just come 670G here 😞 If somebody could help me 🙏🏻to know how to get 780G It should be a miracle!!!!💝
It's fantastic! I hope get one soon. It's system just arrived in Brazil. But it's so expensive.
Does this pump only collaborate with the finger prick blood monitor or can I use a dexcom with it?
But does it have Bluetooth though?
Let me check and get back to you
I am very happy to be a part of a team, that developed this amazing device.
Does it use Bluetooth? LMAO!!! I'm still on 530G :P
Great vídeo! Greetings from Brazil
So, are there any restrictions on what phone (Android 10+ I assume) the app is running? Thanks for the video ...
Bluetooth is a key :) Thank you for the review.
From the US here, is the 780 the same as the 770 over here? Never heard of the 780 and the 770 is advertised as Medtronic’s newest pump out here. I might have it all wrong but looking to get on a pump for the first time. Thanks for the video!
No, if you get the 770 it will be exchanged by Medtronic when the 780 is approved in the U.S.
super mais encore 1 truc qu'on aura dans 30 ans chez nous donc ...; moi j'ai la 640 et la 670 pas encore dispo ici portant ailleurs depuis 4 ans enfin bref on peut toujours rêver
great intro. A shame Roche won't introduce its GC meter in all countries where the pump is being sold.
Will you get notifications from app pushed to Apple Watch? Thanks
Nice video... BUT does it have bluetooth?
Hi ND , not sure if you did or not, but if you did how did you get this on the NHS?
I really want to upgrade from 670G -> 780G and guardian 4 :(.... the 670H drives me up the walls with frustration; constant calibrations, persistent ‘alert before highs’. I can’t wait for the no calibrations and auto correction doses. The 670 will tell you when your approaching high... but it won’t tell you if your remaining high, even if you corrected and it didn’t work effectively. I just hope the 780 will allow more automation while also increasing time in range. Or I could go to the t-slim x2... that pump looks leagues ahead of the 670G!
I can also choose 780g with guardian 4 or t-slim with dexcom 6. Witch did you choose?
This guy scares the heck out of me....
Hi I use the diabox app can you tell me i would like to calibrate my reading with finger price so are they doing update or is cal/ b in the app cheers mike
Nice video! Hope these closed-loop systems will be available through insurance one day in the Netherlands.... I believe you are looping yourself, right? Are you interested in hopping over to a closed loop, or do you still prefer looping yourself?
But what about bluetooth... think you failed to mention that ;). But thanks for the review. My 9yo will be switching from 670G to 780G later this week... and this review made me extra exited about that :).
It is Bluetooth, my 8 year old boy has used it for 6 months now. Had 640g or was it 670g, not sure. We have only had diabetes 1 for 1,5 years so not that expirienced. But hey, this product is super. So much easier life after we got it. After some time (it needs to learn) we dont need to correct manually anymor. It is just so good! And most important, time in range is super duper.
Can you silence alarms from your phone?
Are you sure it has BlueTooth? ;-) LOL
Does it still use a AAA BATTERY or does it require charging like the tandem X2, I’m looking into a new pump and I’m hopping from Medtronic and tandem and tandem to Medtronic, I don’t like the idea to have to remove the pump to charge it or to have to be connected to a wall or a juice pack, I also find that refilling a Medtronic pump is much easier, and they have Bluetooth now, and the work with Dexcom G6? Can you give me some of your pros and cons between the two pumps please
780G model use AA battery
Nice video! Quick question though, does the 780g have Bluetooth?!
Hi there, my 7 year old will be going on the pump next week. I'm pretty confused. In order for the automated extra insulin function to work. Is it a must that you have the phone connected.to the minimed app on the phone. I'm wondering if I can still use the function without a phone for when he is at school. Don't feel to comfortable with him carrying a phone so young. Thank you.
Hi. Phone display options are optional. 780G works fully without a phone viewing option so he does not need to carry a phone :)
Waiting for mine :)
My first pomp :)
How much it costs it costs ?
@@imaneelhanafi3308 21 thousand PLN so around 4,5 thousand pounds
Take a shot every time he says Blue tooth😂😵; be careful about your blood sugars though!😅😅
I am down for this! hahaha
Is free style libre 3 required a reader or it has Bluetooth so reading can be taken in any smartphone (without NFC enabled smartphone) reply brother
Libre 3 does not have a physical device. Only app.
can you see it on your iPhone watch?
Soo, it's got bluetooth then?
6:34 so no calibration needed or is nexlink 2.4 needed again?
Hi May i ask how i can purchase one , i am i China , can i buy one from online??? thx
Hi, please speak to your local Medtronic team and your doctor.
Price of this ??
Do you get paid to advertise for this or do you get it for free? I think it a problem if you don't are clear about this in your video...
No. This video is not sponsored. As explained at the beginning, pump in the video is my old 640G.
Great video! Is it available in the United Arab Emirates
Perpekt information and entertainment as well. Thank you and greating from Germany.
Very nice
Will 780g be compatible with Apple watch?
No watch integration announced. I will definitely post something if this changes
Hey there, I find your videos very informative, good work! 👍
Please could you tell me what the best pump option is in your opinion/experience?
Important factors for me are...
1. size/mobility
2. customizability (concerning the app)
3. all in one option, least hassle
4. the thing I can’t think of at the moment but you‘ll tell me about 😉
I‘m in Germany (if it matters)
Thanks a lot,
Kiryk
Thanks for the explanation! From Italy! ;)
Does it have Bluetooth?
