    I do like your reviews. Saves me some anxiety when i purchase this gear. Dog toys/bones would be a good review because there so much information about what is safe, what is healthy etc.

    I definitely like the product review. I would love to see a review of a multipurpose harness. I travel with my dog and want a harness for seatbelt purposes and then walking when we get out of the vehicle.

    Love this, please do more reviews! I'm constantly looking for good chews and treats for my dog, it would be really helpful. As for the black grip leash, I'm pretty sure you could make a loop without having to feed the clasp through the loop. More like a check chain or slip leash, where you would slide the leash (/collar) into the loop right below it. Might be a fix, but I too prefer handles! A good thumb lock is a must for me!

    I was waiting for the "But wait there's more !" moment. Just kidding Ian. Good job on the product review. I would really like if you do more leashes/collars/car restraints/treats reviews. If I were you, I would even do one of all the Simpawtico's swag with Christy and yourself. Who knows maybe have some Simpawtico gear for Wednesday and Darwin too !

    I'd love to see a comparison video between collars, choke collars and harnesses on the market. Which brands you prefer, what you should use for which behaviour and what fabric/material is best.

    Would love a video on recommended puppy schedule! Maybe also, advice for bringing your puppy/dog to work with you? My office allows dogs and when covid is gone, I would like to bring him in a few times a week when my husband is working, but would love some advice on how to be most successful with this... Do I need a crate at the office aswell?, How do I introduce him to the other dogs and my colleges? , how should I entertain him throughout the day and get my work done??? Help me IAN!
    We've watched every video you've released so we are desperate for more! YOU ROCK!
    (Also my husband saw your 12 string in the back of the Q and A video and he wants to see you rock out sometime!)

    I'd like to get your opinion on chews like the Bulletproof Pet Products Indestructibone, Benebone, Nylabone, etc...
    Edit
    I'm not a fan of those clasps. I've had multiple dogs and myself maneuver is such a way that the leash catches on the release and pops the leash. While it may be stronger, I would still have reservations about that.

  • @MegandtheMutts
    @MegandtheMutts 4 роки тому

    Hey Ian! I'm from MN and live in the area that Secondhand Hounds serves. A lot of dog trainers and animal advocates up here have a negative opinion of their practices. I don't personally feel strongly for or against them, but I thought you should be aware of the climate surrounding SSH., though it doesn't much affect the review of Tiger Tail!

    I still have a screenshot of your older leash review video. I was waiting for our dog to stop grabbing the leash and trying to play with it before I buy a nice one. It's much better now so I am thinking it's time for a new leash. I have a question, the nomad leash, does it feel slippery? I do not like that. I like the fabric that slides easy but not slippery so it does not stay in the hold. I also was thinking about easy dog brand.

    • @SimpawticoDogTraining
      @SimpawticoDogTraining  3 роки тому +1

      I agree with you on those points about how it feels. I have to say I'm really liking the Urban Nomad. It's like you described: slides easily, but not slippery. It's still grippy enough that you can maintain a safe, comfortable hold on the leash. I really like it. It's really lightweight, too.

    I would never trust a plastic buckle (they break with strong/motivated dogs). Metal buckles work well (in my limited experience). Doing dog rescue transport, I found that martingale collars were the best for my needs (for both them and my dogs). Shelter dogs come out with whatever they have....and it's not always serviceable (ill fitting, cheap materials). While we never lost a dog, we did have equipment break down (snapped swivel shanks, cheap collar material that ripped, or ill fitting collars) that caused some full on panic. After the third incident, I bought webbing and "D" rings and swivels and made serviceable collars and high quality leads for handling these wonderful dogs. Because whatever name they have, they've not had it very long! There is no substitute for good equipment, no matter what you are doing.
    Claw snaps are fantastic. But they have to have a sturdy shank/swivel.

    Love your videos!! I know someone that has promblem with his dog. She a lab mix and she is super wild. She doesn't respond well to her name. She doesn't listen when she told no. She loves to jump on people and lick alot. And its become a promblem. Sometimes she fights with her brother. And walking with her. She'll pull and tug herself. If should could she would run if not on a leash and it would be hard to catch her because she doesn't listen. What could I do??

  • @JakeAho
    @JakeAho 2 роки тому

    Couldn't you use the pass through on the super grippy one to make a loop to hold the leash?

    • @SimpawticoDogTraining
      @SimpawticoDogTraining  2 роки тому

    Hello, I have a question, can I use a retractable leash as an all-purpose one? I can always just pull out the desired length and lock in place.

    • @SimpawticoDogTraining
      @SimpawticoDogTraining  3 роки тому

      It's not recommended to do that. You CAN technically do that, but you lose almost all of your sensitive control and dexterity. I suppose it depends on the skill level of your dog, too, though.

    I'd never go for synthetic leather. It might look good, but from my experience, it can end up snapping without showing any warnings. Like it gets weak on the inside.
    But I might have gotten my hands on some terrible quality... I can't say. But a single bad experience is enough for me avoiding it for stuff like dog collars and leashes.
