This sbc is very informative and easy to understand!!! Wish you guys could make the series in 1 playlist so I could watch straight through without searching for the next 1 but either way I find them very useful and a good refreshment course

Wont aftermarket rods not influence the lubrication of the cylinder walls? Original GM rods had oil thrower tabs on the outer side (crank side of the bearing pocket) most aftermarket rods have nothing? Will I need to modify the rods with oil channels or the crank before use???

Would it be smart to cover the camshaft in assembly lube? Motor will be worked on occasionally

So I have a 2 bolt main 350 block. If I stud the mains and spin the engine around 6200 I should be ok? It will have a steel crank and I beam rods also.

I have used 2bolt mains block with stock main caps & bolts too 8500rpm in my own daily driver. If the engine is assembled correctly, & balanced it will hold. I advise to use ARP main stud kit is too be Safe.

Why didnt u all go 4 bolt main on this build?

Good question about the 4 bolt main option, with very few exceptions all the roller blocks from 96 to 2000 are 2 bolt mains. The 2 bolt mains work perfectly to 700 hp and 6500 rpm. If i was doing a nitrous assist set up or a supercharger I would have taken the time to get the 4 bolt main. RPM kills engines as the piston speed goes to the moon and it has to stop and go the other way very quickly. 440 mopars with the tall deck height are the worst offenders. keeping the rpm to 6500 or less prevents a lot of issues. Remember, my customers want it to sound like a john Force funny car, have the reliability of a new Camry and the gas mileage of a Prius! Keep the questions coming! B
