- The 90 90 Hip Stretch addresses the deep hip muscles like the gluteus medius, minimus and the hip capsule. This video will teach you the proper set up so you 'feel' the stretch in the right place. Always allow 90 seconds - 2 minutes for an effective release.

That was the best explanation of the 90 90 stretch that I've seen. Thank you so much!
Came here to say this. Cheers mate
Same here! Great video
I’ve had hip problem for years on left side but I thought it was a groin problem as that’s where the pain is but this second stretch makes my whole left side shake! I hope I’m on to something here! Thank you 🙏🏼
Mate. By far the best 90-90 explanation I've seen. Thank you, massively!
I love the thorough breakdown of this stretch. I’m going to put this into effect today and will comment post workout to let you know my results. 💯
I agree with Riley. the best 90-90 explanation I have ever seen from either PT or Yoga sites (typically called a seated pigeon prep). Thank you!
No doubt the best explanation and video of the 90/90 hip mobility exercise. I give it an IMDB rating of 9.5
Amazing job explaining. I've been searching for the adjusted version (starting at about 2:30) for long time. I didn't know how to address the limitation, that in the regular 90/90 I couldn't hold my body straight, but I was "falling. Now I know how to train it. Thanks a lot.
Oh my gosh, thank you!!
My knees pop up like crazy in 90/90 and the stretch has always felt wrong. These adjustments are gold 🙏
I never felt a stretch when doing these. Until now!! Thank you for actually explaining how to do it correctly!!
This video changed the game for me. I’ve been doing it wrong and he perfectly explained/demonstrated it. Kudos!
Great explanation of where you should feel the stretches.
Great instruction. Thanks for sharing this. I never realized how much tightness I had in my hip region until I tried to get into the basic "starting position" for the 90/90 stretch. I couldn't get my upper body anywhere near upright. So clearly I've got some work to do.
I’ve never felt so loose in my hips, thank you sir!
This was an incredible use of my 5 minutes. My internal rotation has always been rough/stiff. The difference 4 min of stretching made… is unbelievable.
Could have explained it in 20 seconds. U ppl are mouth breathers
Thank you for this video! I’ve never been successful with a 90/90 stretch! It feels amazing!
Best visual and explanation of this!!! Thank you!
Thank you so much for this really detailed video!
I loved this. It has helped me quite a bit and the way you talk and explain is easy to understand. Forever grateful 👨🏼🌾

Excellent explanation, thanks!
Very helpful, particularly for my back hip stretch. Thank you.
Great hip strech and explaination.
Awesome video Jack!
Great video and very clear and to the point instructions. Thank you!
I have a high hip and this is just impossible for me to do... I was told this was THE stretch to fix it. So now I'm screwed. Will try something else I guess...
I find it better to start in with the leg on something elevated preferably below waist height and stand on one leg. I was always taught putting you foot more tucked than 90 doesn’t achieve the same result
excellent explanation
Well explained, thank you.
Thank you! I’ve been dealing with hip pain and apparently doing 90’s wrong for quite a while
oh this just fixed me
Great teaching !
Excellent video
Thank you so much for sharing this great tip. Great content too.
Fantastic explanation, thank you.
Hi - this is really good for my sciatica. Thank you! Any more stretches youd recommend to help target the piriformis and areas causing sciatic pain?
Thanks du!
Thanks, great tutorial!
Why do I feel pinching on the left hip? Always feel pinching on it in certain posiitons
Excellent tuition. Is this suitable stretch for someone like me who has osteoarthritis arthritis in my hips?
Hey Jack, when trying to do this as part of the Rebuild yourself program I notice that I experience some knee pain when trying to "sink my hip" during IR stretch. Anyway that I could alleviate that? Appreciate it as always!
Very helpful. Thankyou.
I get cramps on the hips when I do this
This seems pretty advanced. I would start with easier stretches and work your way up.
I found it challenging and I’m fairly flexible after perviously dancing ballet and regularly stretching
A lot of the time when I do Internal rotation movements the inside of my knee has some discomfort. Any tips for that or is it just mobility?
Excellent
This stretch has almost 100% eliminated back pain that ive had for 1 1/2 years, in just 4 days! However i do feel some medial knee pain when doing it. Any suggestions?
Best video thanks
Great explanation, but I still feel tilted to the side with a pinch in the back.
Thank you!
That’s a fantastic stretch I am sooo stiff in there tho ..how much can it open up ?
At :46 you mention the pinching at the back hip. What can I do to address the pinching and get more flexibility?
Hey man where have you gone?
I think GOD was in a good mood when he made you. 🐁
GOD DID
“But god did”
Would you be opposed to testing out a THOREX . I really think you would like it
Does this need to be done everyday? or could it be done every 2-3 days?
Nice I've tried that move but I'm to tight around my waist and in my knees help
Is there anything easier? Can't keep my knee down or legs at 90 and I'm pinching no matter what on either back leg this is insane
Ive noticed a muscle in the IT band area goes into spasm on the 2nd position you explain. Ive been suffereing from what i beleive to be piriformis syndrome and have been taking measures to try and sort any imbalances in my hips. The spasm in the stretch today was the first time im noticing it. Any experience or insight with this?
in the second hip stretch,i cant fully rotate my hip.what do i do?do i just rotate as much as i can and continue?
My hip capsules are so tight. I can’t even sink into it. Any suggestions?
Hi, can you explain what square your shoulders over the front hip mean? What does square mean?
He is literally showing you. Dont be so slow
Thanks for the video. I get knee pain on the side that is internally rotated, any idea why that is? Is it safe to keep doing it?
same here, did u find an adjustment to fix?
@@pd7484 I did, you have to pull the end of the foot away from the floor, and it eases that pressure
It requires a ton of focus, I even forget to breathe...
👏👏👏👏👏👏
