- ENJOY THIS SONG THAT I PERFORMED WITH MY DEAR DAUGHTER MARAL!
This is a prominent song about strong racehorses, and the song itself is well recognized and sang by everyone in the country.
'Hotgoidiin Unaga' refers to a horse that of Hotgoid tribe of Mongolia.
Once upon a time, there was a poor man with a beautiful light bay horse.
Once he decided to race his beautiful light bay horse at the Great Naadam Festival.
But when the local noble met him, he mocked at him and said "If your light bay horse wins the Naadam Festival, I'll give you my flock of stallions."
At that festival, that beautiful light bay horse came far ahead and made the owner happy and famous. Moreover, he jumped down throat of rich nobles.
Since then, the beautiful light bay horse has won seven times until its age of 25.
It is worth to mention that Mongolians have been herding livestock, especially horses for thousands of years. Horses are being used by brave Mongolian men for hunting and war.
Mongolian men are adorned with beautiful and good horses, who race hundreds of horses for Naadam festivals and who have revered the horses even in the coat of arms of their state.

I can't be the only one who wants a Batzorig to do a series where he talks about the history of his culture and its music.
that sounds fantastic, brilliant idea
Enough talking. Just singing. People talk too much
@@XmanSully I'm talking about a separate series of videos where he talks about this kind of thing. I've been lucky enough to have him answer a few question on his Instagram live streams and it's absolutely fascinating.
@@Back2Life Sir, I understood you exactly. It is just my opinion. There is too much talk in the world. I say this as a history buff - enough teaching through talking. Let me just enjoy the art. Again - it's just my opinion
That would be absolutely awesome and is a brilliant idea
FFact - The most frequent song topics in Mongolia:
1. Mother
2. Horse
3. Mountain/Nature/Earth
4. Father/historical figure
5. Love
What about ghengis khan
@@Zenovarse he's a historical figure. Just like Hoelun was the mother of Temuujin but also the mother of all mother's. So Temuujin (Chingiss Khaan) counts as a father as well.
1 should be father, not mother.
What about the Mighty Genghis Khaan himself?
Not really surprising.
I have a feeling that Batzorig will re-watch this video in 20 years and think "those were the days".
But isn't it fantastatic that technology has allowed us to do that?
And hopefully maral does the same. Or even become a musician herself as an adult
They’ve done this before. It was awesome
But this has more instruments lol
14 dislikes!? Why?
Can we please get him and his daughter into the UNESCO world heritage list?
NO - thats nothing for these fake Organisation
@@Broeseler unfortunately sad but true 🙈😅
YES !!!
Lets just share their music and make them unforgetable ourselfes
I listen to Batzorig singing with his daughter when i feel down and i know everything is going to be alright.
YES!!!! She is splendid, he is great! How can one ever feel bad...
They're two angels
This honestly gives me such a hopeful feeling. Amazing!
13 people don't know what's good for them -- It's so beautiful to watch this daughter growing up in the music & dance of her culture -- she's so sweet & precisely on-beat with the percussion -- love to see the love & pride in Papa's eyes
@@cornellyajoss4984 Yes, who wouldn't be proud? Ok, this is a production video, no idea how many takes, yes there is a bit of editing, yes the video part of the cello is not realistic... but I don't give a dam, it sounds cool, and what shines over everything is that THEY are cool, and make some good music and bring some light out! Maybe I am biased because I love the culture, the instruments, the singing techniques... but still, to me at least all the rest is relative. No idea how many times I listened to this track, hope to hear more!!!
Wow .... a gifted child with her father playing music, riding horses, dancing, singing. Your face gives you away, you seem very proud of her.
riding horses are normal in mongolia
@@alslobi9165 was normal, they are modernised pretty much the same as the rest of the world...they use horses for music videos as well as the clothing ect. Actually go to Mongolia and it's full of cars and bikes.
@@adam-uy6qg bro lives half way up a mountain what you on about
@@Oliver_billinghamJuniors No he doesn't lol he lives in a modern home, mongolia is modernised they don't live like its 1250.
But it was more beautiful and charming before just like a the throat singing that is an old art…
Damn, she can sing, dance, and play the cello? What a talented little girl! And such a fun song!
And she rides a (white) horse!
I bet she cooks too.
when you have a father like that, you’re bound to be as equally talented and hard working
I wouldn't be surprised if she was a grandmaster in Mongolian mounted archery as well.
Now she just needs to record for r/TheRedditSymphony
and ride bareback and do tai chi!
She has a better voice than a lot of popular singers, won't name names.
It must be a fantastically satisfying feeling to produce a child who shares your talent and love of music.
out of all the ways you could have put that... produce? wtf lol
@@iangarza990 It's a perfectly ordinary turn of phrase where I'm from....
@@JagoffCitizen where are you from?

@Ray the Scarecrowlover umm... that is not at all what we are talking about... i wouldnt use the word produced cuz its just a strange word to me, not because he didnt produce her
He looks so lovingly at her, it's absolutely adorable. He is such a proud dad
It's the best part of a wonderful video! Always nice to see a dad positively interacting with their child :)
this is the cutest thing i've seen this year
Okey.
It's only February

@@chinggiskhuree5748 I have never met someone on this platform so generous. Thank you for being a kind person.
@@forshizzle4487 Wow, thank you too! 😁 Your manners are excellent & you honor me! I thought those phonics looked ingenious as a throat-singing portrayal (such literacy is remarkable). My guess is that you chose them spontaneously. Of course only a total dumb-ass would find fault where there is none & you won't find dumb-asses among Mongols. 😙💝😀

As amazing as it would be, that crap is terribly politicized and left-leaning dump, therefore I state she's too good and talented for such a trashing crap.

I am an Oghuz Turk and I think of my grandfathers who lived in the same tribe with the Mongols thousands of years ago and I am happy.
Love this. Such a precious child. It's great to see traditions passed down.
Haven't heard Mongolian singing before but just can't stop listening to this song. Even the older version is so pleasing.
I love both versions, but the simplicity of the older version makes it truly something special. Just a man and his daughter having a good time. this type of music resonates with me like nothing else. So glad to have found this channel.
It sounds even better recorded in the studio with other instruments, but I was always amazed how clean your music sounds just with the room microphone!
True
I'm Magyar in this life! 💝
@Balazs . Agree. When they sing at home on the family couch it is very real and authentic
I listen to the room version almost everyday. I always feel at peace when I listen to it. This version ain't bad though!
His little girl is growing up. She going to follow in her dad's foot steps. Coolest dad ever.

Delighted to know that the goat-astragalus rattles come in kid-friendly colours :)

I thought my favorite scene was Maral dancing in the snow, but I loved Maral and Father riding the Mongolian horses and I love father and daughter walking hand in hand then I realized I love everything about this video. Beautiful
Splendid. Just enough time to put the kettle on.

The next Asia's got talent is Maral's. Time to beat that second place.
Since I can't understand a word - the only thing I see in this video is a father that loves his daughter. Thumb up and keep up the good work.
Okay, this is going to sound strange; but, it must be said that my son introduced me to ya'll about 13 minutes ago. Here is the weird part, but again, it must be said that I am even more convinced in love at first sight (or first listen) after these last 13 minutes than I have ever been before. Miss Maral, you are a prodigious and endearingly charismatic artist and your Father has the most beautifully evocative voice I have ever heard. If ya'll were to have played out ahead of an advancing army long ago...there would have never been a need to battle: everyone would surrender to the unification of beautiful music and live in harmony.
Hearing her sing alongside her dad I have to wonder: can children actually learn throat singing? I've heard women using that technique but can't even imagine how that would sound from someone like her.
People keep asking about the lyrics. The song is "Хотгойдын унага" or "Khotgoidyn unaga" and the lyrics is:
Khotgoidyn unaga ni khöö
Khongor khaliun züstei dee
Khorin tavny nairan deer
Khookhoon tsolyg avsandaa
Unaga nasandaa uyauulaad
Daaga nasandaa davkhiulsaar
Doloon khoshuu naadamdaa
Doloon udaa türüülsen
Altan altan amgaig ni
Ayagii ni taaruulj tataarai
Ar saikhan zoogii ni

Möngön möngön amgaig ni

How do you feel about the fact that your music is helping me deal with depression. Absolutely amazing channel 🙏
Forgive me for saying - you can help depression with diet.. I find gluten to cause problems as it has neurological effects... Best wishes.
You can do it :) stay positive 💪
Don't listen to michelle, gluten is good for you.
If it's seasonal or covid related, what you need is sunlight, excercise and you need need to do something you're good at that makes you feel good about yourself.
And if it's clinical depression that's been going on for a long time, go see a pwychologist and talk to them about your problems. If you see a psychiatrist, he'll just give you pills. Not that theres something wrong with anti-depresents. But they can cause side effects that can affect your personal life. So trying out a therapy first could help you deal with your problems and save you money in the long run.
@@meesh.G, it can be aggravated by food allergies, for sure. My indigenous family cannot consume gluten or dairy. It is *not good for us. Keep positive, and hang in there!

The unplugged version of this song is even better.
I see where you are coming from and I totally enojoyed that version. I even was there, seeing the video the very first day it aired, kind of. I saw it on the premiere.
However, I do enjoy this one more, the melody is such a headbanger, it was perfected, it was mixed but one can bet Batzorig himself supervised everything.
I feel like this one touches the soul slightely faster than the other. The other one, the unplugged version.
And the voice of Maral sounds even slightly polished but not in such a way she could be roasted for using autotune the way Demi Lovato and Britney Spears do
(Plus, Maral here has the entire world having her back and a horde of comrades who will gladly devastate and annihilate these who insult her, unlike these two who sometimes are cartoons of a human, but also are victims of their upbringing)
Just woke up, decided to stay in bed a little longer because I just felt a bit meh, could be better.
You know what, this song actually made me feel better. It's so uplifting even though I don't understand a word of it.
And Batzorig looking so proud at Maral warms even the coldest of hearts.
Batzorig I just started throat singing and what I see here in this video was how my Mongolian ancestors love one another

The combination of Maral and Batzorig, and the HU, plus the beautiful scenery in many of their videos and the way they showcase Mongolian culture. Makes me hope that the biggest invasion issue Mongolia has to deal with in the future is of tourists.
