- Oh my gosh, this made me SO happy!
During an early morning drive in Yellowstone, we stopped at a nearby carcass that had a grizzly bear on it. As we grabbed out cameras to get into position, a distant howl echoed across the valley. I was ecstatic knowing that there were wolves nearby. While photographing the bear, I noticed a single black wolf trotted down the hill toward the bear. Three more soon appeared. Two of the wolves approached the grizzly, hoping to get a taste of the carcass the bear pulled out of the frozen pond. One of the wolves got to close and the bear lunged at it as a warning. However, the wolf potentially viewed it as an opportunity to lure the bear away and began play bowing and bouncing around. This was the best thing I have ever seen. It was hard not to laugh at this interaction. After a while, the grey wolf gave up and laid down nearby, waiting patiently for a piece of meat.
Eventually, the grizzly left and two of the wolves tugged at the remaining carcass. We continued to watch for a couple hours until the wolves trotted away. This was the best wolf sighting I have ever received during all my years of guiding in the park. I was so happy to be gifted with this experience! That wolf definitely left me with a huge grin on my face. Nature is awesome!

I'm weak. The wolf is hopping around like " Bro, gimme a piece".
Imagine if the bear slaps the wolf💀
FLAWLESS VICTORY
I can see how this shit definitely worked on early humans lmao
Lol right they still
💀
The wolf is trying to show that he’s not a threat. He just wants to share, grizzly doesn’t tho
Was never a threat! 😅
maybe but more likely just expecting the grizzly to attack, it wants it to attack so it can get it to chase him away from the carcass so he can steal a piece
Now I know how the wolves tricked our ancestors and became dogs
Yeah, this is a good evidence
The wolf is being as polite as possible. Showing submission, more or less just asking for a piece.
the wolf is like "awweee cmon man you gotta give me a piece! you know you wannnaaa"
That's one of the wolves' favorite tricks.. One gets the bear to chase just long enough for the rest of the pack to take the carcass.
Wolf trying to distract bear so his buddy can snatch the meal
Your little sibling wanting YOUR snacks
Lol more like ur distant cousin. Idc bears look like dogs.
There's a well documented story of a wolf and grizzly that were best friends for years. They worked as a team hunting and traveling together. Very cool story.
What it called?
That wolf has balls. One swipe from the grizzly and it's over
Probably has a pack near and trying to distract the bear
@@djota207 but the wolf pack seeing danger, will move on
@@rmb743 wolf packs are known to scare off bears, there are videos of it, and just like here one wolf comes in front of the bear and then the rest chases it off of its meal
@@djota207 i agree with you 100 percent, it all depends on the pack. A brown bear is larger then a grizzley not to mention a kodiak, but the bear can pull his weight, not all the time. The wolf pack is very
@@rmb743pack ye but those aren’t a pack. And bears are usually sensible, they don’t just go about picking fights and try to fake the target out
Its so cute the wolf is adorable
You should pet him
@@MHG796😂 lol but it ain't gonna play with me it's gonna kill me
That's the trick that the wolf is playing. The "cuteness" and playful behavior is an illusion.
@derekwilliams6188 Well, we know who's gonna die when they come accross a "playful wolf"
@DXE735 who?
In grizzly's presence even grey wolf becomes just a pet!
Without a big enough pack, yes.
One grizzly bear is lunch to a huge hungry wolf pack. It will take a long time… a very long time in fact, but eventually they would kill it if that was the only food available.
@@chrislewis7006 that’s true, it would take a long time and third or even half of pack would probably meet their father Fenrir but in most cases which are not as extreme as you described Wolfpack would still avoid grizzly, I believe
@@namazbaiishmakhametov1810 yes
That looks to be a very young bear, about a 1/3 of the size of a adult?
Nah if there was a pack then the wolfs would just become a mafia and make the bear kill for them
I feel like this wolf and bear might do this often. Haha
Not playing, trying not to join whatever the bear is eating while stealing a taste or two.
Well you can see why they say playing
AYEE YO BRUH BEARS 🐻🐾 AND WOLVES 🐺 🐾ARE WILD DOGS OH MY💯🤘🏾🤟🏾👍🏾🙂😺
That bear ain't coming off that carcass😂😂😂😂❤❤
The wolf: "Cmon! Just a bite. Just a little bite. C'mon"
This is a perfect example of how dogs became domesticated by early humans. No human could refuse to give the wolf a piece. And that's how it started.
Wow that's interesting ❤️
So cute 😍
sooooo cute 🥰
Wolf knows thats a bear , y he's playing & hopeful, his life is in limbo , u no eat u die , that bear get' s a hit u also die ! 🐾💝🐻
For people saying wolf is doin this to distract bear , you're wrong. He is trying to show playful behavior to get food , that's it. If there's a starving wolf pack nearby the bear wouldn't be sitting the all nonchalant
Im guessing you missed the second wolf...
Wolf is too cute. Bear didn't know what to do.
Wolfie was just wanting to play 😂
no
Was wanting to distract the bear from the food.
@@javiergimenez9621They probably know each other, when dogs stand on their front paws they want to play. also notice its agitated syrup
Omg that wolf!!! He's crazy!!
I love how everybody in the comments is a wolf and bear expert and can explain exactly what's going on here
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😗
Bros just tryna Bulk in peace
❤
Thats funny 😂😂😂😂
The wolf was like, “Hey this worked on humans.”
That one friend who be eating a whole meal and won’t even offer a fry
Wow, never seen that before
I've been guiding in Yellowstone for years and that was the first time I've ever witness an encounter like that.
Moon moon at it again
Not at all. The wolf is clearly trying annoy/intimidated the bear, so that it will leave/ give up the food/ kill. The kill had likely been made by the wolves, and they are trying to win back their hard earned prize. There are other clips of multiple wolves doing this to a lone bear. This is not playing, it is real life survival.
Какой красивый игривый волк
likely just expecting the grizzly to attack, it wants it to attack so it can get it to chase him away from the carcass so he can steal a piece
Thats my dog when I'm trying to eat.
This is literally my dog and cat 🤣
That Bear looks like a black bear 💯💯👍👍😎
My two favorite animals, but bear reigns supreme
He wants the bear to share with them
That wolf is so so smart. He is by himself and is playing friendly and playful as if he is the member of the family so he can eat too. 😂
Animal ate the shit, there's no way around how amazing and interesting they are!! TAKE CARE OF OUR WOLD LIFE GOD WAS NICE ENOUGH TO BLESS US WITH THERE COMPANIONSHIP!!
Bears are such units lol
Agree
Damn that wolf is huge too...
Me and my dog when i'm eating something:
GIGGLING,,,
maybe they know each other, wolfie, way too close , a swipe, good night wolf...
Them bear claws tho
Good hunter and they know it...probably follows for scraps
Look at the CLAWS on him…how scary😮
That bear ain’t playing 😮
😂🤩💜🌼🌸HEHEEEE👍🏿
Wolf got guts
Кто там говорил что волки не виляют хвостом? 😂
Cute
Wolf asked can I have one bite grizzly said last time u refused me
Bro need that's food soo bad 💀
😂😂😂
Looks like a black bear...
A few ways you can tell the difference… Grizzly’s have the shoulder hump while black ears have a more rounded rump. Grizzlies have a concave facial disc while black bears faces are slanted. Grizzly claws are around 4 inches long while black bear claws are 2 inches and more curved. Grizzlies also have bigger heads and short rounded ears. Color is not a reliable factor in identification, especially since black bears (Ursus americanas) can also be brown. This was also filmed in a low light setting.
@@TrekkingwithTrevor thanks for the info. Those shoulder were a dead give away for me.
That's no black bear...
Lots of grizzlies are black in color and lots of black bears are brown in color. This bear looks dark because it's wet. The size and structure tells you everything.
Медведь огромен
Must be a lone wolf a pack would have stole the carcus
Clearly you didn't notice the wolf standing behind the bear
Not from a full grown griz theyre not.
I’ve watched countless videos and documentaries of grizzlies holding off an entire pack. Stop lying.
@@shane6450 I guess you never been in Yellowstone national park
@@chuckroutionGB2022 I have and can confirm from personal experience that the bear is capable of defending a carcus from a pack unless the pack is unusually desperate from hunger, they don't want to risk a life ending grizzly bear swipe to the face
Настоящее лицо волка! 😂😂😂😅😅😂
Wolf becoming a dog!
I saw a lioness do something similar. The male gave her the kill
The wolf has the same colour like the ground
When they’re sleeping, they’re hard to spot because they look like rocks.
Where can I see the full video??
He wants bear s food
I dont think the Bear is in the mood
Must be a young (and dumb) wolf, but wolves like this are probably why we have dogs.
And jesus the claws on that bear sre terrifying
The wolves and subadults… so basically teenagers. And grizzly claws on average are 4 inches long.
What animal is the bear eating
A juvenile bison that died during the winter.
After I finish this carcass you will be dessert
More guts then sense
Szuka watachy tak moja na spacerze
Avı kim avladıysa av onundur.
They don't play at all.
But Grizzly ain't playing!
We need more wolves i And less bears
No
@@kahanuermeyas-tulu4056 The wolves are the master of the wilderness We need more wolves you wolf hater They help everything
Playing ….
Could've turned real ugly, real fast, seeing as how the bear was eating!!!
Siberian Tiger eats that size bear
I would love to photograph one of those.
We must stop dreaming with the Siberian Tiger🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Playing dice, los cojones....
Just grab the damn meat and run like hell
Thats not a wolf its a dog
Looks like a giant house dog lmao
Wolves and dogs are the same species. Dogs are a type of wolf. They can interbreed and their offspring are fully viable and not sterile.
@@glowindark64they aren’t exactly the same species. they’re in the same family canidae, and are alike, but they aren’t the same species
@@Takenist you are mistaken. Look it up. They are not the same animals but they are the same at the species level. Basically dogs and dingos are a sub species of wolf.
@@glowindark64Same genus
А волк то ненастоящий
That's not play the wolf is trying to distract the bear from the carcass
Grizzly will eat his and I will guarantee you there will be something there left for that wolf to gnaw on.
