Interview with Legendary Agave Breeder Kelly Griffin

Kelly Griffin is a legendary #agave and #succulent breeder, who's created some of the most famous named cultivars, hybrids, and selections inthe agave and succulent space. Many of which you've almost certainly heard of, and you might even have some of them, in your collection or in your yard, even if you didn't know Kelly was the guy who created them.
In this interview we cover a bunch of topcs, including his background--how he got into doing the work that he does, some of his greatest hits--those famous hybrids and selections, and the nitty-gritty, nerdy details behind his process creating those hybrids and selections and what it takes to produce them at massive scale at the huge nursery he works for, Altmans. And we talk about agave utahensis specifically, including poaching, conservation, rescue operations and Kelly's thoughts on the taxonomy of utahensis.
