What he really meant was he had to justify a hole that ended up not needing to be cut. Doesn't look pro to cut a hole only to cover it with a blank later. Don't blame him! This shit does happen.
Your work is simply perfection personified. From start to finish you’re professional, honest, and humorous. I’m definitely going to have you see what you can do in my home.
I love your videos, and I've never really had a critique up to this point. As an electrician though, you should absolutely not be running 14/2 Romex. It's code that receptacles have to be 12. Unless they sell white #12 where you live, in which case disregard.
Great content. Can you show a video of you getting around a fire block. How you run the wires up the wall with the fire block there. If you don’t already have one.
@@Nwordplzplz has to be from somewhere around 2008... I've got a Sony KDL46XBR5 from 2008 that's got that same clear bezel! (which still works and looks killer even by today's standards at 1080p120hz I might add lol) must have just been the style back then

I literally just paid to have my coax cable outlet moved above my newly remodeled fireplace. I then installed my tv over it. How else can you get the basic, local channels if you don't pay for cable? We barely watch tv as it is so we sure as hell ain't gonna pay for cable. We just connect our tv to the coax outlet (to the antenna) in order to occasionally watch basketball and baseball games. I guess we're just old school then and you'd probably say our tv is old too then bec I didn't see anything wrong or old about the tv you mounted!
Bro ur very skilled and I love these videos but these short versions don't teach me nothing lol I wish u would make longer versions that teach exactly how u did it. Unless u just showing off which is fine too, just gonna have to look elsewhere to learn fr fr
You mean fireblock? The coax (black cable) is dropping from the attic above, through the fire block, to the lower coax jack. Whom ever installed that coax already drilled the hole through the fireblock, before the drywall went up. But the cable is on the right side of the stud, from the first square he cut. So he had to cut the second square on the right side to access the coax (I know its a rectangle, but we call it a square). He then snipped the coax from the lower jack and used it to fish romax electrical line up. So killed two birds with one stone by doing that. Relocated the coax to where the TV is and installed electrical for the TV. He then drilled through the stud from the first upper square to the second upper square. to bring the coax over to the first square. He probably had to do the same at the bottom to connect the romax to the lower receptacle. Typically a flex auger drill is used to get inside the wall and cut a hole through the fireblock( or you cut the wall and drywall patch later). Flex augers take practice and skill. You can easly screw up and bust out of the wall. I hate those, but have had to do quite a few of them. Did one last week for a TV.
@@beaualoevv This is a residential home, where people spend a lot more time on on couches . This is not a cafe where TVs need to be high and out of the way. Apples vs Oranges.
So, you are a licensed electrician who hangs TVs for a living or doing unlicensed electrical work in the course of hanging TVs? It's one or the other and they both don't make a whole lot of sense. Can't fault your install though, nice job.
You don’t need to be an electrician to do low voltage work homie. Being a solid installer of low voltage items is a niche that electricians don’t understand.
Dude, I hate the hanging on the bracket thing. That TV weighs 40 lbs maybe, but you weigh 200. Mount doesn’t need to support 200 lb if it only needs to hold 40lb
