Tyler, am I glad I watched this before heading out yesterday. The senko was catching a few, but not many and the chatterbait tanked. After a storm, I decided to try the popper (which I had not used in years). I ended up with 7 more in the boat in about an hour. Thanks!
I am 45 years old. I have fished for 40 years. I am really pretty good at it. There are very few UA-cam fishermen that I can stand to watch. You are one of them. Thank you for teaching me a few new things!
Thanks man. We went out this morning and not even a hit... I listening to you. I appreciate it. Apopka fla... We hit isolated ponds hidden from the general public. Just can't get a bite when normally every cast is productive.
I absolutely love poppers. It's my go to bait. Even in times where you'd think they wouldn't work, they do just with different techniques... I like to do a quick flick of the rod to make the popper flop around but not move forward. As if it was a dying fish. Instead of the typical motion which acts like bait fish hitting the surface. Works all the time!
Knew a lot of this, but didn't know about spy baits. Interested to try one, but I've just started experimenting with swim jigs, chatterbaits, and poppers. Love to see content from someone based in the north though! Would be blown away if I ever had the chance to fish with you.
Couldn't agree more with this list. I need to experiment with the spy baits but 3 of the other 4 always get play in July. I find fish with the Popper and topwater frog and then go back through with a Texas rig. Always a good 1-2 punch.
Size 4-1 Owner Mosquito Light hooks and any 2.5-4.5” worm/minnow bait. Three sizes of weights 1/8, 1/4, 3/8 oz. for depth and current adjustments. Pencil weights for grass pyramid/round/teardrop weights for rock. Tag end 12-24” long depending on size of rocks/height of grass and if you are casting or truly dropshotting. As light of fluoro as you are comfortable with fishing. 6’-10” Medium Light Spinning rod with a 3000 size reel braid to leader or straight fluoro. That’s dropshotting
Pit Boss is a versatile soft plastic. For instance, I got an 11lb freshwater drum on a Carolina rig, 6lb blue cat on the same setup, and numerous large spotteds and largemouths on the Texas rig with a Pit Boss threaded on.
nice vid, Tyler! Yep agree especially on the spybait GFix80. Some days when bass are schooling and they drop down, the spybait can get bit. Med-light rod is the key like you said. You will lose some fish, but having some flex in the rod definitely helps.
Pretty ironic yesterday I caught that big old lunker from under the dock at your pond with a nekko rig using a daiwa nekko plastic in baby bass, and then today this popped up in my feed 😂 I’ve always loved that presentation, I just like all the “do nothin’ jack Chancellor style stuff…
I sell marketing and understand the selling process well. So far, I have not seen you show favoritism to particular companies, therefore, I will keep watching. You are very good at making your point without a lot of fanfare. That rings true to the savvy buyer.
Something I have to get through my head is “stained” water here is still very clear compared to other parts of the country. I may lose the ability to see bottom past 7-10 feet, but if you swim down to the bottom, you can see much further laterally and up (fish’s perspective). Some lakes here you can see bottom in more than 20 FOW.
Everyone puts out a top 5 baits for this month video and they are all different baits. Could it the top 5 bait for any particular month could be 5 baits you are confident in using. I understand the extremes, such as winter techniques but I feel that bass are not that predictable. If they were every pro would end up at the same spot fishing the same lure. Love the videos. Keep up the great work.
I’m thinking about getting into glide baits so I’m going to start off with some different ones under 20 bucks. Does anyone have tips to help me I have an itch to catch some big bass I mainly fish in farm ponds about 2 to 4 acres and every weekend I go to different lakes. I live in Missouri if that helps.
Invest into a decent rod a reel my favorite Beginner combo is a diwa dx and diwa tattula Ct 200 it’s about three hundred dollars and you can throw everything on it buy a 8 inch mag draft a 6inch mag draft a 6th sense trace and draw and a swaver and mabe a Huddleston and you will have everything you will ever need
I watch the pros pull fish after fish out of great lakes on drop shots but I can not even get a single bite on one, Can you please do an video on the drop shot, thank you
Still looks better than waffle sunburn or tan lines because of the holes in the crocs. My feet got toasted through mine the other day, really wish I had some socks with me.
@@ronfeltonfishingI bought 4 Rico’s in the 90’s I’ve caught so many fish on them, I’ve never lost one but I’ve gifted 3 of those original ones to young fishermen over the years and still have great success with the one I have left. Replaced the treble hooks is all I’ve ever done to them when the feathers wear out. Important to be an accurate caster before you go throwing them in heavy cover. But they certainly outperform a rebel pop-R
Bass fishing is not hot, tyler. Sorry to say for June 30, 2023.I fished in 90 F degree weather today (here in northern Illinois) all early afternoon and into the evening. And bass are not biting. I even had polarized sunglasses , fishing in the shade in low mater with scattered weeds. literally wiggled my bait in their face and they were not interested at all.
Did you recently have a cold front move through? That can easily turn things off and push them to feed off slower bottom baits rather than up high or mid column. Also in my experience, after days of bluebird skies and heat, it's the morning bite that really comes through, so afternoon into evening is the hardest time to be on the water.
@@biggiesmalljaws yeah it’s important but like imagine fighting pregnant for 2 weeks on bed and then giving birth fighting for two more weeks your gonna need a brea

Yellow and black devils horse. Unbeatable in FL. Set on up regular and one upside down with hooks on the black side for clear or cloudy days.
Pop-R gets it done for sure! 💪🏻🎣 Great video covering your go to July baits.

Spybaits are my go-to when the pressure is on. And I throw them on my BFS setup. Absolutely thrilling when they hit!

Thank you the popper is one of my favorites to throw
Great vid, keep up the good work. Please do a spybait video.👍🏼
I love throwing popper style baits. I have a lot more confidence in them than any other topwater lure...
My popper has been on the back burner for a minute ! Definitely trying it out tomorrow! ( caught my pb on one) 😁 I’m excited!!! Lol

I just caught my pb smallmouth last Sunday on a popper.. so they guys not wrong lol.. and I'm in NH
July I’m fishing deep . Deep cranking. Dropshot. Football jig. Carolina rig . Nedrig
Great video as always Tyler, throwing a T rig with a big worm is has been working in SC, they will eat that redbug magnum trick worm🎣
I just caught my pb on that exact lure last weekend on Douglas lake 🤷♂️
@@jessevowell2554 it’s the juice🎣
Great as usual. Be sure to use lighter line for spybaits, even down to 6 lb test.
I caught over 20 fish in one day with these swim baits. Fish love these definitely recommend getting them

thx for introducing me to spy bait, im excited to try it.
Sincerely Thank You !

Spooks have been producing for me, especially for smallmouth
My best bait is a 8” zoom magnum trick worm.
Spy bait= seemingly injured easy prey 👍🏼

So I literally picked the absolute WORST month to start bass fishing LOL
You missed it algorithm,,, It's August
Bro wears Crocs with socks

Lol
also love the vids
I tied the spy bait on and got the biggest bass in my life.
i am a big fan
You need to keep the spybait a secret!
The technique takes so much skill to fish effectively that it doesn’t need to be protected 😂😂😂
@@biggiesmalljaws definitely a great technique for Clearwater spotted bass lakes
July?
Black Rico can’t be beat
But is it worth $20+
@@ronfeltonfishingYes.

It’s not officially July on June 30th.
3 more hours

You are up north your bass just got done spawning they are recovering and it will take a week or two for them to bite

Neko rhymes with Gekko and it means Cat in Japanese. So, either call it a cat rig or by it’s proper pronunciation. End of rant.

Come on man nobody catches (big) bass in the dog days
Thanks Ty. Still wanting to get a shirt from ya but you don’t have any in stock. Kinda hard to support ya.
