Nur der HSV 🥳 Moreover, they are funny and self-confident and I love at least four songs from their brand-new mini album (especially "Make Our Highlight" 🥰)
I honestly thought I wouldn't see anyone I know reacting to this but I'm happy to be wrong! QWER is super interesting in that it's a project band formed by content creators. A lot of Korean streamers are actually super talented music or other art majors that are streaming to make ends meet, and I was actually a regular twitch viewer of the bassist Magenta before this band was even formed.
Oh what!? That's awesome! Yeah they're really interesting, definitely bringing something else to the game and I always appreciate that! 🔥 Let me know when the America KPop reactors form a supergroup and I'm in! 😆
fascinating group.....none of them were on a path to be a musician (outside of the lead singer who was the first korean person to be a part of the AKB48-NMB48-etc japanese idol system). 2 were streamers and the other was a cosplay tiktoker. It's the brainchild of Kim Egg who is a military special forces guy who became quite famous as one of the first celebrity workout dudes in korea (his schtick is that he wears this bald mask and sunglasses, he pops up momentarily in the video in the corner.....I still don't think anyone has actually seen what he really looks like without that on camera). He was doing some YT content with the drummer Chodan bc she's also QUITE athletic and found out she's a pretty decent drummer and had an idea to start a rock back with people from their world (YT/IG/TikTok influencers). His channel has this whole series on the conception and making of the band. Concept, recruitment of members outside of Chodan, him calling in every favor and getting some rather famous people to participate in the series, etc. One VERY cool thing to note.....by the time their first song was released last year, the bassist and guitarist literally had only been playing for like 4-6 months (or around there). The series is worth checking out (it's on their company's channel Tamago Productions) Their first song did SURPRISINGLY well last year given the inexperience of the group and the company. It's something totally different/new for the scene in korea and i think really importantly, these girls all had followings (the guitarist Nyang Nyong Nyung Nyung-or Hina- has like 4M followers on tiktok) and AREN'T idols so not controlled like kpop idols are by their companies. The 3 streamers veer into "sexy streamer" territory (especially the bassist) and she unapologetically keeps doing her content which is cool. In a lot of their promotions and whatnot, they're free to say what they want and do want they want and I think a fair # of people latched onto that.
to be fair though, chodan did study music, plays multiple instruments and sings. And she was already active in the music streamer scene with charming_jo etc, but yeah beside Hina playing piano, Hina and Magenta are definitely new to this all. I was actually really impressed with how serious Magenta took the project, she basically spent every second of her free time and a lot of her on-stream time practicing bass for the debut. I follow her since she was on another streamers stream (her best friend zoodasa who unfortunately stopped streaming) so i knew she was already interested in music and did a small radio show, but this is still so surprising and so well done
@TheSteakLP well I only meant in that kpop sense where they're in dance and singing academies from like age 5 and their whole life goal is to become an idol. Just the fact that all 3 already had a thing for their careers.
You summarized them perfectly but I'll add that at first I thought "these songs are really good" after seeing a random episode of their creation series, mostly intrigued by Egg Kim's antics and how pretty they are... But as you watch their channel content and recent live shows its really endearing how driven they all seem to be despite being successful influencer/content creators already(minus siyeon). They would have certainly had some success if they just synched their performances to the backing but their recent live shows where they perform with limited backing tracks(mostly just the extra studio instrumentation, synths, effects etc) show they are actually a performing band now and its really cool and explains a lot of the popularity to me
@jamesd4991 so I think their songs are mostly written by the main songwriter for Bol4 (but don't quote me on that) and if you're familiar with Bol4, her songs are AMAZING and shes a top top indie singer in korea. In korea there's a term that refers to artists from small labels who aren't pure kpop who's songs always chart #1 (originally given to IU) and Bol4 is known as one of these artists. The songs are EXTREMELY well written for qwer
@jamesd4991 and I agree....theyre getting QUITE good at playing live. Recently on magentas channel she played along to a clip and shes getting quite nimble on the bass. You can also see recently that genta and Hina aren't playing with capos anymore so they're actually playing the chords vs cheating a little with capos
Wow, thanks for reacting to QWER! Your review about the songs really nails it! Siyeon is really amazing even though she didn't write for this song, the one who help write for this song is Magenta (the bassist). I happened to be a long time viewer of Magenta, and when they announce about QWER I thought it's just a fun project since she doing it with Chodan (the drummer) too (they're good friends). And to my amazement they really doing it with their heart. After I found out more story behind Hina (guitarist) and Siyeon (main vocal, sub guitar) and the formation of the group, I'm instantly touched and forever be a fan and always rooting for them (how you could not after hearing Siyeon's hardships 😭). Please react more of their songs ❤
the rock is a total dad joke....the word that's sung right at the moment (spinning or swirling) has the word for rock in it (like how cop is in the word helicopter)
Just realized u reacted to QWER! They’ve just made a comeback with a mini album with the title track “my name is malguem”. It’s written and composed by IDLE’s Soyeon. It’s soooo amazing. You’ll love it!
I didn't know they were actually a band - I had only seen half of a thing from them before and thought it was maybe just a song concept. I think I've actually seen more clips of Magenta as a streamer than I have of QWER as a group. Gives me a Jpop anime opener song vibe
I think this is so cool, I didn't know they were streamers when I watched this, that feels so random (in a cool way). Love it when I get a curveball and see something unexpected! Thank you for watching. ⛓️❤️⛓️
Good afternoon. This group flitted across my screen earlier today as I was digging in on BabyMonster and Illit and VVUP. I, along with you, am on board. It’s nice to hear a little guitar in there and I like that they don’t feel the need to inject “rap” at every other turn. I kind of get the feel they can really play those instruments too, which is always nice. Nice work, you held up well even if you are a little pencil shy, and managed to stand up to big, beautiful eyes. Oh, and we’re doing shout-outs now? Damn, I’m going to have to up my game…😅
Yeah this was different! Always excited when groups have a fun twist on the genre. Very cool. I am trying to get better at giving credit to the people who tell me about stuff. I'm pretty terrible at it but working on it!
wow, considering how new they are on the kband scene, my girls suprisingly goes popular pretty fast (for a band)! i see lots of reactor who doesn't usually react to kbands but react to qwer. i hope this can interest you more about the kband scene. we have indie band like silica gel, nerd connection, soran, daybreak, papertones, touched, lacuna, thornapple, kachisan, yudabinband, wave to earth, the poles, 9001, standing egg, jannabi, etc... and then we have (very) few idol bands like day6, xdinary heroes, nfyling, cnblue, and the middle of that spectrum like LUCY & The Rose. they all great, i wish more people can know more about kbands, it's a really underrated world of a very talented musicians
A few things about the music video for context: 1. The concept is that the girl drawing (Magenta) likes the other girl (Chodan) and (like the lyrics say) she is too scared to say it, so when she’s on top of the building she is going to tell her, but the other girl (Hina) stops her from saying it because (plot twist) she likes Magenta (the girl on the building) and the Music Video cuts back to Hina and how the lyrics actually apply to her! (Sorry if that was confusing lol) 2. The reason she is interviewing a rock for a second is because the lyrics say “덜“(?) which sounds like “rock” so it’s like a play on words 3. During the building scene you were right where it’s kinda a concept of it being a tv show with the reactions, and the bald guy reacting is their CEO which is in a lot of their content lol I suggest listening to their other projects because they are a really great band even though some members only started learning their instruments recently ❤!!
I thought both Magenta and Hina likes Chodan. Hina stopped Magenta from confessing because she got jealous about the possibility of another girl getting close to someone she secretly likes.
Hi! I'm Korean and I hope the translator works well. To correct a comment, Magenta and Hina both like chodan. It's Hina who draws the picture at the beginning of the video. Hina tries to deliver the drawing (note) to Chodan, but fails. At this point, Magenta hasn't finished drawing Chodan yet. When Magenta tries to confess his feelings to his favorite Chodan on the rooftop, Hina stops she out of jealousy. Hina eventually puts a drawing of herself in Chodan's locker, which reads, "I'm having trouble getting close to you..."
@@Refill-Studio thank you for letting me know! I kind of just did my interpretation of it so I appreciate it! And yeah I just wrote ”덜“ because that’s what it sounded like to me but I don’t speak Korean so I hope I didn’t mess anything up 🩷👍👍
@@shiningfingersword You are probably right, I just put it up to my interpretation not having seen anyone go in depth on the MV. That’s just what I thought it was but thanks for explaining it! 🩷👍👍
I didn't expect The Rock in a kpop reaction. Bringis me back to my old wrestling fan days. 👴 I just discover QWER myself through a korean military (= best crowd in the world for me 😄) performance. Sounds a bit like like YOASOBI / Anime songs. I like it. 👍
In a situation where there aren't many bands these days, QWER is really talented and amazing, right? Thank you for your reaction.
So cool! That was a really nice surprise! Thank you for watching, they're great. ⛓️❤️⛓️

I love QWER so much and this is a comeback. The singer is Siyeon, guitarist is Hina, Magenta is the bassist and Chodan is on drums
They're really dope! I wasn't sure what to expect but it wasn't this lol. Thank you for watching. ⛓️❤️⛓️
I came back to this… Siyeon the Vocalist is a really cool vocalist.. Also her personality is really hilarious..
Thanks for taking my suggestion

It does give that vibe! It feels different from a lot of the other songs I've been hearing so I'm glad I checked it out!
overall sound also sounds like jpop.. almost like yoasobi
Lucy is good as well. K band
Their group name is not [qwɜːr], the right pronunciation is like "que - double u - e - are".
Got it, thank you!
They are not first band group , but yah, not many these days
They're not Qwer but QWER. please say Q-W-E-R. QWER is looking like a cute teenagers band. HOWEVER the members are not young as you've seen.
