Liam's coaching is so interesting because he seems to be very original - in a good way. All his coaching is based on how he personally used the one arm one shoulder into the towel (and all its derivatives) over many years of applying it to competitive golf. And James is a great practical example of using the coaching and how it gets applied on the course to make solid improvements. Probably the best practical golf coaching on UA-cam this year. I'm not at all surprised these videos are getting huge traction. Having something powerful to show us, along with clear directions to how we can use the lessons, is always going to be a big YT winner.
20:30 dude in the background in peach looks like he’s been training with Liam too - starts hitting some rockets!!! Great vid here. Keep the stuff with Liam coming.
Couldn't agree more. Of the hundreds of YT coaching videos I watch every year, this series is by far the most enjoyable and applicable to the low-mid handicap players. Personally, I found the drills in the first video to have an immediate impact on my game and I'm waiting with bated breath to incorporate the tactics of this vid into my practice. Well done James! Also a big thank you to Liam for helping out our favorite YT golfer and allowing these sessions to be shared with the masses.
Rather simple, straightforward. Implementing Liam downswing move has made me hit golf balls better than ever all day long. Incredible. Many thanks for sharing.
Great video - such a good coach minimal prompts and your flushing it. Super interesting to hear the little personal golf tips Liam drops into his lesson from when he was playing pro! 😊
Great to watch. James I feel like this could be the spark that you need to really take your game to the next level. Having played professional sport for 10 years, I can vividly remember the moment when I started working with a coach that I just clicked with in this way. Their subtle input enabled me to go from a 'talented prospect' to a consistent performer. Which is essentially what seperates successful professionals from amateurs. As well as a healthy dose of confidence. Wishing you all the best!
This is some of the best stuff you've filmed mate. Enjoying watching your progress. Very impressed with Liam and his approach to helping you improve. Great stuff. 👍
This is such a great series you are striping the ball with such an effortless swing which can only mean you will have more control. Really hope there's more of these to come
What a great video James - the bit about keeping your arms up as you move forwards is perfect for you with your power - legs, hips, torso, arms as against legs, arms, torso, hands. Liam is clearly a great teacher. Looking forward to the next lot of content.
Worked on this tonight at the range, took me 30 mins to get to grips with it before putting on a stripe show with my 7i, then moved into 5w hitting tight draws before sending drives down range and the last 2 carrying the back fence. This is gold and I’m going to drill this stuff all winter. Thanks for this great series.
I remember vlogs with this guy from years ago. I think this is the kind of coach that will benefit you, doesnt want to hear or see any crap that is working towards the end goal
Different focus and energy all round. You’ve found a diamond with your new coach, not just his vision and process but his personality seems to work well with you. Chilled but also let’s grind and fix this! Well done.
Brilliant video again. Really highlights the importance of understanding what a drill is trying to achieve precisely and then execute it correctly. Definitely food for thought.
Thank you for this great session again... your new routine reminds me of the one used by Ji Young Park which I saw in Evian Championship last summer. Very efficient and beautiful to watch. That routine looks like the perfect golf swing at slow motion. Hope to see you soon back to competition !!
Great content James. It’s even interesting for a bogey golfer. I would love a video with Liam telling us how he came from a minor tour player to gain so much in depth coaching knowledge.
This is a total rebuild. I’ve been having lessons, and the pro gave up trying to make me hit up on driver, he says you’ve hit down for 50 years it’s too late. Changed professional and she said great you hit down 2 on driver with speed, long straight and you know where the clubs head is. Was a plus handicap for 30 years, low single figures in my late 60’s, so clearly didn’t hit driver bad all those years. Liam, is really interesting, his breakdown of the swing process, is different but logical.
Had one of my best ever wins this week, mxd final, thinking of exaggerated step drill and left arm throw and that was B4 i found Liams great video! Cant wait to try his more subtle step drills and smash bag!
These longer videos that show the real process in full are always a great watch and set you apart from the overly sensational golf content that many channels churn out chasing views. Keep it up!
Liam is golf’s best kept secret - he will become known around the world very soon As a longstanding member of TGN , I can feel your pain in getting the drills done correctly. It is hard when you are swinging at 💯 ++ I love the way that Liam ticks you off for a ‘sloppy’ start to the lesson. I had a similar bollocking earlier this year
The key to golf, for me (on full swings) is quite simple: Move hips past ball (at impact) while keeping head very still until follow-through. When you DO IT RIGHT, you get this sensation of your head doing a balancing routine (catalyzed by your neck & body.)
and its funny because i was having the same problems as you and liam where you get under it and club head way behind the hands in the downswing hitting the occasnial fat push block or hook pull hook with driver and overall feeling really stuck but once i started to figure out why it was happening what you are doing now its really helped my ball striking immensely and it just feels right
As a member at Heythrop, drive around that queue of people checking in. And curious why you guys aren’t using the grass range for some of these lessons? Great videos, really loving these drills!
This content is superb, very easy to follow etc, one thing though in moving onto your left side looks like your head is also shifting to the left when I was always told to keep my head above the ball or ‘stable’?
I Love to watch this, question tho, are your arma on the side or the top of the chest in your sertup and swing? I see a lot of different opinions on this
Awesome videos James best stuff you have done to date, and I have followed from the early days. Any chance of you getting Liam on the channel more often?
Your flipping is coming from setting up to the ball with no ulnar deviation in your left wrist. You’re basically setup to hit a fat shot because the club will fall further into the ground once the cupped wrist at setup loses the angle during the swing. Your mind is smart so it instinctively tries to hit ball first which means it has to flip through the bottom of the swing arc to level out the bottom and hit ball first. Once you realize your left wrist flexes downward during the swing you can account for it at setup.
James I’m loving the videos from you lately, keep up the great work mate and excited to see where this journey takes you. If you are in south wales at all, drop me a message for a round. Could you ask about the drill for me. I’m a slicer rather than the over draw, is the step back drill also good to fix a slice?
I need to kidnap this guy and keep him in my basement so he can teach me...🤣 So If im seeing and hearing this correctly... There is no turn in the downswing. Just kind of back to the target drive forwards and bring the club down and impact happens around the lead leg area... I was under the impression from "other places" with the same movement pattern that it all happens on the trail side.
Hi lads, really enjoying the videos. I have a couple of questions. The move forward is not straight towards the target, but at 45 degrees so as to load the front/lead foot? The other being at 71 years young, but more importantly with swingspeed now of only 94mph, should I be trying to hit down with driver? p.s. without being big headed, I don't swing like most septugianarins. Thanks in anticipation.
Not trying to blow smoke up anyone’s behind here but…just got back from a range session where I’ve never hit my irons (especially long irons) so long or so straight. Added 15 yards to my wedge and 20 to 5 wood off the deck. But…I couldn’t manage to fashion any improvement off a tee with driver 🤔. Thanks for the videos though: I have a new distances to try to remember now! 😁
JAMES once you learn to hit the fold point properly with the mass of the club head that's when your body will start too stack on top of the ball better i think you understood what liam was trying to tell you once he said don't pull because once you felt that non pulling motion you was like ah ha and it looked like you got it but its starting to look really good once you get this you'll never get under the ball again
I've discovered recently how to properly turn and unweight rather than slide, but it's so scary to your brain to believe you can get that far off it and get back. Great re-affirmation though that you can.
Theres a reason this man made it to the DPWT. Cant think of a cooler series of lessons right now.

Brilliant content. Loved Liam’s stuff with Rob McGarr as well. Man knows his onions 🧅
Rather simple, straightforward. Implementing Liam downswing move has made me hit golf balls better than ever all day long. Incredible. Many thanks for sharing.
That swing sequence just makes so much sense 🙏 Also think this is why when I try to hit it hard I generally hit it better too
Great video - such a good coach minimal prompts and your flushing it. Super interesting to hear the little personal golf tips Liam drops into his lesson from when he was playing pro! 😊
James, you've all the talent in the world, this macro tweaking is the way forward, 1 of the best coaching sessions I've seen⛳️💯
Love the guy that flys in at 6:02 😂. Great content lads
the course is pretty awesome at the minute, been a member there for a while now and in the last few years the course has really come on.
Great to watch.

Good to see this working at high level because this is exactly what I coach.

Joined TGN, spent and hour doing some of the drills. Plenty to work on. See a noticeable difference already. Love these vids, keep them coming!!
Have you found it quite hard to navigate? Where do you start?
@@niallmcstay9938 i just watched the drills on TGN website. Towel drill and step drill first with no club and then take it to the range and alternate

Enjoying the content hope to see a driver videos down the road.
Would love a full chipping and pitching James this is gold joined tgn last week
