Brilliant video . Just spent 3 hrs chipping today & the information that Steve mentioned about leaning back rings true for me. Back to the chipping area tomorrow. Thank you 👍
As someone that always enjoyed your course vlogs and banter w flower etc more than your pro stuff this recent spree of pro stuff has been the best it’s ever been keep up the work mate
Great to see Bernie Ecclestone barging in at 21:28 and then getting close and personal at 22:50…. unbelievable selfish stuff, the whole practice green is virtually empty… but there’s a camera… so let’s be in the movie😀, best bit is when he is plumb bobbing his chips.!
Hugely interesting watch. Got some cracking info for my short game. Not sure how much of the bunker stuff I can implement though, looks such an alien set-up to learn & adjust to.
James... for those short, lofted pitches.... If you want less shaft lean, more loft, and using more bounce... Take your setup like Steve had you doing... but feel you keep the butt of the grip pointed more to your right hip, or just to the right of your bellybutton, and keep it pointing more to your right side through the stroke.... it will be all bounce. Give that a try mate. I guarantee you won't dig with the leading edge.
If James does the work and puts in the practice time and does the reps and just does what Liam and Steve have taught him it is inevitable he will get better. But changing habits takes a lot more work and time than people realize and with winter coming up this is the perfect time for him to do it and he needs to get as much of this done as possible before he is playing with a score card in his hand in South Africa.
Your pitching has come a long way. I think it's just refining what you're visualizing on the course. All we are doing is trying to pick the shots that are the most predictable... relying on that spin is important. It's not about hitting the tightest nippers that one hop stop, but just hitting the shot that the situation gives you. Rely on what's most predictable at all times unless it's a recovery situation like a flop etc Technique/mechanics looking so good
Interesting to see how much difference the grain can make. what a "hobnob" that old guy was... I swear some people do it in the same way babies test limits with people. Mind, some people just don't get personal space, so benefit of the doubt I guess :P.
You should tell the subscribers that a coach speaking to you before and after every shot isn't what makes you better, its the hours of practice time alone once you know the fundamentals. You want to find a chipping area and spend days and days and days chipping for 10 hours a day until you can hit every shot. That's what everyone in any job does, 8 hours a day doing the same things . Golf as a fun, leisure thing is a completely different thing than pro golf.
to have Liam and Steve back on the channel is a fkn treat man.. two legend OG's.. plus the two harry's lol

This is some of the best stuff I've seen on you tube for awhile James keep up the hard work your rewards will come
