    Thank God there's still some fathers teaching their boys lessons on transitioning from boys to men. It's rare. I sure was blessed to have my daddy in my life to teach me things like this.

      🙄🫨cutoff wheel an air chisel cheaper to buy a bearing puller an not damaged shaft with cutoff wheel . Remove inner seals an ad a grease fitting give ten times longer life when you can grease the bearings regularly

    Nice having your son helping in the shop. I lose my helper to video games as well. Hope we can keep them interested in learning how to..... I have rebuilt sever decks using the same approach on Craftsman, Yard Machines etc. Not worth buying new decks or spindles for these units. Haven't repaired any zero turn decks yet. But as more & more home owners are buying them it won't be long.
    Stay safe, Joe Z

    Great to see Bobby helping you in the shop. Good to see him doing well. I think I like the spindle design om my Exmark better that on that Kubota. I have only had to replace the bearings on one spindle on my 2003 Turf tracer and haven't had to replace any on my Zero turn yet. Hope every one is doing well. Have a great day. God Bless!

    Good one Bob! After watching you use your chain fall for several jobs I did the same thing in my garage...what a difference...no jacks, jack stands or blocking needed. Thanks!

      Still use jack stands, my chain block failed and unwound itself. No tool with moving parts is infallible

    Expensive spindle that is no longer available. Sounds like planned obsolescence.

    That chain hoist looks like it earns its keep! Nice to be able to lift from above the machine, instead of blocking your access beneath the machine. Kind of surprised to see you driving a bearing by its inner race, though, yikes!

    Why did you use Red Loctite instead of Blue? Not having any grease fittings, it appears that the next person to work on it will even have more trouble.

    Is there a dust cup shield missing? The older zd331 and 326 I’ve worked on have a dust cup shield between the blade bearing housing.

    should you press the bearings into the spindle using the inner race or the outer race?

    • @derekhardin1141

      outer

    • @TB-lo9iq
      @TB-lo9iq Рік тому +1

      Outer! Cringed like crazy watching the hammering. That will brinell a bearing quick. Then you get to find out how much heat it takes to break the bond of red loctite!
