Huge tip. When pawns die or leave your party all the items they are carrying go to your storage. I was freaking out thinking I lost all my valuable loot when both the hired pawns jumped into water. So don't be afraid to offload all your junk onto the pawns.

You actually don’t need to give a pawn you’re dismissing a gift, you can cancel the gift giving step. But you should still give them a gift, it’s nice.

and watch them be the ones who in a few years say Dragons Dogma 2 is an underrated game
Just adding something to the pawn section: there’s a favorite system, and you can also search through the pawns you’ve recently hired. So if you find a pawn you really like, you can search for them again, and if their player is really active, they will have leveled up. Pawn data is updated whenever you rest at an inn, so releasing and rehiring pawns you like is a decent way to make sure they don’t fall behind. There’s one pawn who’s been really helpful and luckily every time I’ve released her and rehired her she’s been 1-2 levels higher than I am. You can also buy gear for hired pawns. It’s a nice way to say thanks and another way to make sure that one you like is able to keep up. Whenever I have enough gold to buy multiple pieces of equipment I try to get something for one of my rented pawns too. Especially if they’re still in basic gear. L

Information unclear, Hollow likes microtransactions.
Also, take a picture of the map where you find your first seeker token. You will need to return to this location for a riddle.
Another one on the pawns ... the hand icons behind your quests shows if any of your hired pawns can help you with any of your current quests.
Best tip i can give is at the start take the cart to the capital, it turned night time and some monster picked my pawn up ran off ate it and murdered is and now im waiting for sunrise 😂

How do you and the pawns actually use any of the potions? Any time I try to use a potion the USE option is greyed out.
Don't put your camping kit on a pawn that isn't yours if you are like me. I found a rift crystal in the wild switched pawns and all that stuff went to storage including my camping kit. I really needed to camp at the time. Also, learned that changing pawns in the wild is a good way to unload stuff. Just load up all the crap before changing so it will all go to storage.
The Golden Trove Beetle increases BOTH player and pawn encumbrance regardless of who usese it

I love the upset on the micro transactions for DD2. As a lover of the original, I remember that it was the same in the original as well. Sense it's the same. Later on, we will be able to find permanent versions of some of these items.
I was salty about the ferry stone. Thought we got it beating the boss. Wiki says it was given to everyone who bought the dlc... so we likely don't have perm ferrystone yet ingame. It's not for sale that I've seen either was just sayin

just an extra tip... you can dye your hair unnatural colors as soon as you get to batahl and can buy dyes (you buy them from the batahl pawn guild).. buying the dyes unlocks a huge amount of color options for the specific dye you bought so you can have your crazy hair colors.
for example my pawn now has pink hair with purple tips and looks very anime like now =D

Golden Trove Beetles increase both your Arisen and your Main Pawns weight capacity, so there is no "instead" since both gain the benefit

It’s so easy to get the currency in game.
Hopefully we get ways to restart, or make alts, I'm the sort that enjoys trying different builds.
And yet, a lot of players are complaining about the MTX that they can easily get if they only played the game. I can understand the performance issues of the game, but bombarding the game with negative reviews because of the likes of "Art of Metamorphosis" priced at $2 when you can just buy them in an NPC is just ridiculous.

Good thing with upgrades and depositing all your materials; you don't need to take them out when you go upgrade your gear / weapons.
The games amazing. They sell the keys to the prison for real money. But u can just make a forge of the main key when u get it and give him the fake. Easy. Also couple tips. Other pawns that carry your loot/gear and fully die. The things they have will be put into your box so u won't lose anything

It's not Important, but could be good to know.
When you see NPCs at stalls that does Not have an icon on the map, doesn't mean they're Not stores.
There are several (not all) that are Actually stores that sells items (mostly Crafting) that could be useful so you don't have to run around to collect them yourself.
Avoid traveling at night until you're in your mid teens and have decent gear. Night monster spawns are no joke. Also, I'd suggest avoiding flying enemies like drakes and gryphons until you can reliably prevent them from retreating. Nothing is more frustrating than spending valuable time and resources fighting these things, only for them to fly away before you can finish them, leaving you with nothing to show for your efforts other than a stack of empty potion bottles and a party needing a costly stay at an inn.

So i wanted to find out what happened with the dragonsplague thing in my newgame +... . It saves after. What do i do now. I dont think i can progress anymore.
Hey in case you haven't found out yet if the dragonplague set off in a town you can still recover in the north part of the map near checkpoint town is a small dungeon with a sphinx at the end follow that riddlequest till the end and make sure you look up the riddle answers. The reward you get at the end will help you out of your situation.
@@QuasarDragon I was told there's a glitch to reset. If you rest for 2 weeks people respawn. But the bodies in the morgue disappear. So I tried that. And new shopkeeps came and main quest givers are still dead but gone from morgue. So I can't revive. So I had to just delete my 50 hour save.
They have the chance to add more rlly cool Hybrid Vocations Like a green/Blue (Maybe Spelldagger/sword?) or Red/Green ( maybe Dual Fists) or sth.
Hello : for those like me who spent hours playing mage/sorcerer and cursing the fact you cannot cancel the spell .... you actually can, by pressing the sheathe/draw button 😅 (ashamed how many times I died because I was casting a spell , see ennemies rushing me or casting spell under me but could not move because I did not even know you could cancell your spell casting)
I screwed up my character creation… now I can’t carry a toothpick without being over encumbered 🤦♂️
Man, I'm not gonna lie, I'm not enjoying this game so far. I'm going to try and change vocations from Fighter to something else and hope it saves the game for me, but I'm about 5-hours in and struggling to keep myself interested in the game. I find myself just zoning out and not paying attention to the game and quitting after an hour or so.
The biggest issue is the fighting system, particularly the fighter, though I haven't tried the others yet. I don't know, maybe I'm just losing interest in games as a whole or something, but this game just isn't doing it for me.

My only issue with the game so far is the performance issues in cities.

this happened to me i found a fix if you need to hear this. basically leave the city go to another city/village sleep for 24 hours and come back and they will be non hostile again 😁
There is an armour set called Marcher's armour. If you put it on, you will not be attacked. The easiest way to find it is in the bottom of the well next to the prison
Why am I not able to eat or drinks foods or potions? I’ve done quite a bit of quests and made it to the big city. I am not able to heal myself
You maybe found the answer by now, but the game calls it the loss gauge.
Basically damage is split into real damage, and temporary damage can be healed by foods and potions and anodyne from mages.
Real damage has to be healed by sleep. At least so far, maybe that changes later on.
Your max health bar decreases when you take critical damage or generally due to exhaustion. 75% -> 50% and so on. You can't heal beyond that. Only way to heal your bar to max is by sleeping at a campfire or inn. I was surprised too, because the ingame tutorial for this situation showed only up at 25% max health 😄
If I want to min max my magic archers stats, what vocations should I play as first?
Your stats change when you switch classes, you don’t need to play other classes for stats on the one you want
@@NNegativeCreepFrom what I've seen there IS some form of stat growth tired to your base stats that doesn't change back. But its not as big as before.
@@MrDoomsmith that’s from the game creators themselves. DD2 doesn’t feature vocation fixed leveling, you can swap at any time and your stats will adjust to match your chosen vocation. So no need to play sorcerer to increase magic archer magic damage.
Personally I wish it wasn’t like that but a middle ground between DD1 and 2.

You forgot to mention that the book of metamorphosis does not change the race of your character.. at least it didn’t for me, I wanted to go from beast to human and there was no option for that.
It states at the beginning of the game you won't be able to change your race.

Yeah, ive mainly only been seeing higher end pcs have issues lol. My pc is pretty middle of the road and my game runs perfectly fine with minimal fps drops when i enter a city
@mcsoosh1822 Yeah. I have noticed some strange texture flickers in some places, but honestly, it is hardly a problem for me, since they are really minimal. Frame rate has been pretty stable for me and the game looks nice.
I accidentally ruined my save by getting rid of certain weapons I needed for a quest because I didn’t realise they were needed for said quest 😔
On the plus side I did accidentally unlock another vocation by accident after talking to an npc after a certain fight 😂
In the 1st game there is an npc that would sell you key items for quests that you had accidently gotten rid of.
I don't know if there is one in DD2 but wouldn't hurt to look for.
If it’s the sorc and warrior quest any weapons of that vocation will do

@@TheOystersClamHeya, you can recover those items at a merchant in checkpoint town. He's the same merchant that let's you forge stuff. He's at the back of the town near the entrance.

Its crazy how people were crying about the microtransaction's when everything can be found IN GAME. The microtransactions are probably there for people that play the game but don't have the time to farm for Rift Crystals because of Real life obligations and responsibilities and this is giving them a way to change what they need to change or hire pawns they want to hire when they do have that little bit of time to play the game.
It’s funny how people forget that most people have lives and only have a couple of hours to play a week at times
The problem with micro transactions is that you don't know how much of the gameplay has been affected just so that they could make more money. It's a common thing to make things a bit more frustrating/annoying for the players just to give them the possibility to "fix" through micro transactions. That been said I don't think this is the case for this game but people have every right to be upset in my opinion, considering it's a 70$ game
Yep and what's really nice about it to if u like the game u can give them money an hopeful it shows them that this game deserves dlc like the first one and it funds the next one after we're done with this one but I was still playing dragon's dogma one up untill this game out so I doubt I'll get bored anytime soon

If your health won't go any higher after healing, it means you need rest at a campfire or inn to clear the "Loss Gauge". If you're attacked, you accumulate "Loss Gauge" debuff, which lowers max hp. This Loss Gauge increases even faster when you're attacked while downed.
@@shinryuvarias4507 it’s not the broken gauge that is the problem. The health within the gauge does not heal from potions or foods. And also the bugs you find that when you click use that supposed to increase your weight carry capacity. Also does not work. I am not able to use anything in my inventory it is all grey

Interesting how people with little time to play games that ask for help in progression will complain when that help is available. If something is available in game and purchasable I don’t think there’s a right to complain.
I've been having fun, but that was only after feeling immense rage at not being able to simply start a new game. I get that I can buy an in game character edit, but I'd rather restart than literally grind away or pay my way when such a simple solution should be there.
On console, go to your storage and delete your save. On, find the folder with your saves and delete it. Done. Easy restart.

I expected bad performance but with 4070/13600k I get 50-60 fps in cities and 60-80 everywhere else.
@@chrisc6457there is a mod that unlocks frame generation. I have same card as you but a 14900k and my frames went from 80-100 to 145-160. Just Google dd2 dlss3 unlock mod. It's a very easy install just extract it to your dd2 file.
Works fine on my pc. 50 fps in cities isn’t the end of the world
@@dilbyfgc2259 nah it’s not and I’m getting decent 40-45 in most cases but checking from low to high makes no difference, FSR makes no difference, it’s not optimized well

A couple corrections:
You can skip give a pawn an item when dismissing them.
The golden beetles raise both your main pawn and your weight limit. You don't have to choose.
No 1 tip: play on console if not patient in waiting for PC optimization
Lol what? It runs great on pc. Only ppl crying have trash pc and trying to run 4k. Try 1440, then 1080 if the toaster won't pop.
The point being missed is that microtransactions are abhorrent, especially in a single player game. Just because I have eleventy of most things on the "cash shop" within the first few hours of starting doesn't make the presence of the cash shop any less objectionable. That said, the clear solution for *everyone* is to simply stop spending money in these things. While Dragon's Dogma 2 is no Diablo Immortal, with people dumping hundreds of thousands of dollars in the game (I know someone who has spent US$500k), it's still a big problem, and it still needs to stop.
With that said, I do enjoy Dragon's Dogma 2. It's a fun game, even somewhat immersive, and I'm enjoying my time spent playign it.
Gifts are NOT required. Just hit the cancel button (B for Xbox) to not give a gift and be a jerk. I always leave meat.

The store is irelevant simply dont look at it everything can be earned ingame easily anyways besides when you go to new game+ everything reset except for your lvl and gear all gear goes to storeage at the inn
Microtransactions for single player games is an unforgivable sin.
If there's not a MASSIVE backlash every time, the next game around, things might not be super easy to farm after all, if accessible at all.
It's the step by step method.
You have to do this for the sake of the entire hobby even if the game is genius.
Less is inadequate.
The pawns you dismiss don't "require" a passing gift. You can skip it. But you can also be nice to the people who lend you their pawn if it's done well.
The gift goes directly to them. (As you should know with over 100 hours but didn't mention.)
What really bugs me is that there is no option for a New Game in the main menu, but there is a DLC to purchase for a New Game cycle. They said they're "Looking at" finding a way to include it in the base game, but if we can already purchase it, the way has been included, only locked behind a paywall. This really turns my stomach. I hoping that there will be a new game option after completing the main story the first time, but I am not certain. If there is no option to start a new game other than purchasing each subsequent cycle, than this is an all-new low and we must not accept it.
I have no idea where you got this from, but you do not need to, nor can you, pay for a “new game cycle”. New game plus is available for free after beating the game for the first time (as it should be).
What the devs are talking about is a literal New Game button on the main menu to allow players to wipe their save completely and start from scratch, this option is not currently in the game, paid or for free. The only way currently to restart is to manually delete your save data.
@@lamorak9905 That's really good to know, thank you. I saw on another video that there was purchasable "DLC" that would allow you to start a new game. It seemed as if the only way to do so was to pay around $2.99 each time, since there was no option in the main menu. Capcom should really have clarified why this option is not present in the main menu from the start. Other videos have stated that the only way to start a new game if you don't like the vocation you have originally chosen is to delete your save data manually or purchase the "New Game" DLC item, since your save is on Capcom's server. They say you cannot restart the game at the moment and that Capcom has said that they are looking into including it in the menu. It should have been there from the start, and Capcom should really clear this up. There seems to be a lot of misinformation out there.
@@baltogames1501 Yea I haven’t heard of this “New Game” dlc item, but maybe they are talking about changing the appearance of the character which can either be bought in game through in game farmable currency or for $1.99.
I really have no idea why new game wasn’t included in the first place... it’s not like it will lessen the strain on the servers because people will just make new accounts and so you will have even more pawns on the server.
I can confirm on pc I was able to close the game, delete my save data manually, turn off steam cloud saves for Dragons Dogma 2, and then restart from the beginning with a new save and pawn with no issues so far. The save itself does not seem to be controlled/stored by Capcom servers. What happened to my old pawn, I have no idea.

I don't believe the metamorphisis allows you to change to a Beastren character or vice versa. So not a clean slate.
I have a theory to help the fps of the game on console ...
I have a cooling system on my xbox with 2 charging points for my controllers.
And I don't know if it's because of that and the fact that my xbox is dust free, but... I've been seeing close to 50fps constant 😂 it definetly never touched 30 fps since I started playing . On the city, I was probably around 40, maybe 37fps.
So yeah, for the console users.... stop being a dirty 🐖 clean your consoles that alone will help your game to run smooth.
And for the cry babies about pay to win sht... grow up. It's a single-player game. The first game never held your hand. Why would this one? Grow a pair, play the game, and explore it, and you will get all of those items you claim to be pay2win for stupidly low ingame currency.

Its not a big deal everything is easily obtainable in game. Monster hunter world also has microtransactions. Capcom will almost absolutely have them for wilds.

@@BrayH-hz5db maybe. The exploerers tent says something about being less likely to be attacked. Or favored by someone on the plains so maybe different camp sets decide your chances of being attacked in the night depending on where you're camping at.
Step one don't buy it on pc
Why? It runs perfect on my desktop. Had lag issues on my laptop, but simply changed graphics settings and it runs fine.
Quit crying about micro transactions!!! The items can be unlocked in game. And heaven forbid a developer try and make some $. Guys if they don't make a profit then they stop making games. If you're dumb enough to pay for content that you can get in game, then good for them.
Could you have at least mentioned only one save slot for a single player game? Tricked by the hype for real on this one
If you did 2 seconds of research or played the 1st game you would have found this out. 1 save slot is not as big of a problem and it important to the game.. the game is all about cycles and having multiple save floods the rift with a pawn for every charter you make. Do not blame your lack of media literacy on others.
That’s a game design decision. Almost an honor mode lite. You either learn to love it or leave it.

People so triggered about the micro transactions. I get it’s kinda dumb but dang man. They’re not pointing a gun to your head to buy them 😂. Just ignore them and have fun.
Needs timestamps. Trust me on this. I am your average gamer, so I promise you are losing out on a lot of viewers and subs because a ton of us just click off when there are no timestamps.
People complaining about microtransactions, they might as well plan to never play another new game, because almost all new games will most likely have some transactions. So either accept it, or stop gaming!
Putting the microtransactions in is scummy either way:
-If it is easy to obtain in game they are cheating people who bought it
-If it is hard they are cheating people who didn't bought it

What's wrong with cheating people who bought it, no one forced them to buy it, they made a missinformed purchase when infromations avaliable one google search away. Its like reaaaly easy to get in game if its anything like the first game
The things for microtransactions are easy to get because they have to fulfill Publisher obligations to have the MTX (Developers usually don't like to add them if they are passionate about their games). Look at Helldivers 2. The Super Credits are bonkers easy to farm in game that one does not need to buy them, but because they made it so easy to get (for a "Live Service" game that it is), the community is in love for the most part that some people are buying Super Credits not for the necessity, but as a way to support the devs more to prepare upcoming DLC.
Biggest tip. Don’t buy this broken game.
One thing I will say though, your channel and a lot of reviewers out there did have the opportunity to play the game pre release where the option to buy things in the store was not a thing yet. As a normal customer playing this game post launch I cannot have that experience. I know there is a store and my stupid brain will constantly remind me of that. It does not matter if I have zero free character change options or infinite. I will be made to think of a real money store throughout my entire playthrough. I cannot immerse myself into this world to the same degree that people playing pre launch were able to. I get to have a worse experience. That is all.

It's a game. It's not some hard moral dilemma you have to make. Maybe this is a good chance to strengthen your will and mind. Think of it as a practice to improve your weaknesses. The better reason against microtransactions is that it positively enforces the developers because they get more money. Other than that it's not a very hard moral choice.
uhm idk your train of that thats like saying I had to open steam toplay the game and because of that my immersion is ruined
