@@lgarner3663 I stand corrected, I was wrong I've listened to these guys since "city of evil",and I had seen pictures of the two when they we're like kids.."kids". So I figured they we're actual brothers. Didn't know he dated and married his sister.

I'd love to see you're reaction to "Sister Rosetta Tharpe". She is considered to be "the godmother" of rock and roll. Recorded from the 30s until the 60s. Amazing women.

Another song by them you may want to react to is Fiction. The Rev wrote this and gave to to the band along with his demo lyrics three days before he died. The song was originally meant to be called Death but they changed the name to Fiction which The Rev had tattooed on his chest. They also used his demo lyrics along with the singers on the song. The lyric video has his lyrics in red.

He was more than a brother to them. They loved one another and connected more than they did with their own parents. This is the definition of losing a piece of yourself. They actually short term disbanded to recover. None of them spoke to the other. I'm so glad they are persevering.
This was the most emotional and saddest song in rock/ heavy metal history. This song was written for their drummer Jimmy “Rev”Sullivan who pass to young. This was an hard song at the time and it still is. One of the best song they every wrote. M.shadow vocal are perfect and lyrics is deep and is saddening. One of the greatest song by them. What a reaction and to tear up in this song is the normal reaction. This was amazing video and I love the video
This has been one of my favorite bands since I was 12 (I'm 32). I grew up with this band from their first album through middle school, highschool, college, and into my adult life. I met Jimmy about a year and a half before his passing at one of their concerts in Providence. This band has meant so much to me for so long. His death hit me hard. This song hit's hard. Especially now, as my family is reeling from the loss of our beloved aunt. She passed yesterday from complications from covid. She was only 54, and this song is helping me to process my feelings. I love this song so much, but it has taken on a new and more personal feeling for me. For those of you new to this band, I recommend checking out the song Saint James. It's kind of a follow up to this song. While So Far Away speaks of their own challenges in living their life without their band mate, and childhood best friend (they've all been friends since they were kids), Saint James is a fun and upbeat song that honors who he was while he was alive. Definitely worth checking out, and Joy-Jean, definitely worth a reaction video. RIP Jimmy, and RIP aunt Jodi.

While death is a natural part of life, there is no greater pain you'll ever feel in it.
For all those who have lost someone they love, just know that while they are no longer physically here, they are and always will be with you.
In moments of questions and doubts in my life, I still hear all the voices of those I've lost.
Sometimes it's encouragement, sometimes it's reminders of lessons taught/learned, and sometimes it's comfort.

this was A7X’s guitarist Synyster Gate’s tribute to the Rev, Synyster wrote this song. The vocalist Matt Shadow’s tribute to the Rev is the song Victim, which Matt wrote. You should listen to Victim if you like this. Victim is so emotional that they have never performed it live still

Synyster Gates, the lead guitar player, originally wrote this song for his grandfather that passed away but after The Rev (drummer) died they rewrote a few of the lyrics and recorded it for him.

I lost my mom January 22nd, 2022, and the amount of times I wake up and expect to see her, even over a year after the fact, only to remember she's gone..... I'd give anything just to hear her voice again.

You don't have to be sorry for being emotional. We all went through this, even on THAT day, so we all get it. Great reaction. I believe this song was literally in the process of being written right when Jimmy died, so it wasn't originally about him. It was about the lead guitarist's, Brian "Synyster Gates" Haner, grandfather, hence the line "Your pain is gone, your hands are tied." HOWEVER, I believe the lines "I love you. You weren't ready." were added, along with other things, after Jimmy passed. Also, I believe the lead singer, Matt Shadows, and Jimmy were best friends before they even met Brian, Zacky (rhythm guitarist), and Johnny Christ (bassist), so, whenever Matt sang those lines...my god... You could feel the pain in his voice. Sorry for the rambling.
This song (video) reminds mw so much of my own childhood. They're all gone. RIP my brothers.

This is an especially tough listen, I think, due to a mix of knowing what it's about, and the fact that it's wrote in a way that everyone can relate it to someone they lost.... also Gates plays some of his most tasteful lead work, end you can pick up heavy emotion out of it..... it kind of reminded me of classic Slash.

Don't be sorry for tearing up. You said it yourself, and we've all suffered loss or will at some point a good friend of mine passed away in November and this hit hard but songs like this are created from emotion and therefore meant to invoke emotion.

I've lost 2 friends to over doses,4 friend to being shot and killed by someone's hand,it all hurts,but the ones that hurt most are my boys from the pills,we tried to give them hlep,but once someone checked out and they don't care anymore sadly there isn't anything you can do
