Very interested to hear how it compares to the papershoot! (in ergonomics, photo quality, etc.) Especially with that price differential. Also if you don't mind sharing, what do you use to film these videos? Looks awesome
I don't mind sharing at all! The main cam in this video is a Panasonic G85 with the kit lens. -- My second cam (that little pen camera on the table next to me) is a DJI Osmo Pocket 3. And my microphone is just a Samsun Q2U connected to a Zoom H4n Pro. -- I am just using a rinky dink light here - Neewer dimmable 176 LED (this is a $30 light.) This whole setup is right at about $1k. My other videos I normally use an Amaran 200x with a softbox attached.
Amazing! I will be doing more of a deep dive. For the moment, I stuck a piece of black gaff over the speaker grill and the camp snap logo (just because I don't care for logos front and center.) and that seemed to do the trick for me. you can still faintly hear a sound, but that helps me know I'm getting the photo. And only I can hear it (the shooter.)
@@LaughingDad yeah I have the original 101 model with some electrical tape over the speaker but one of the new 103 features is turning the sound off/down. I'm looking forward to your 103 review coz im waiting for mine to arrive, the vintage filter is a little different than the 101 and doesnt look as "film like" but theyve recently made a new one you can download which is closer to 101. I wanted the papershoot but the price put me off and lead me to the camp snap
@@rachelhunter606 Thanks for that! -- Definitely will be exploring this. - I have already immediately liked being able to 'add' me own film look in post if I'm being honest. The papershoot is fun and great, but it's so processed and there's no turning back after you have the flat jpeg. I am waiting for a similar product that shoots RAW -- That would be a huge disrupter
The point of the shutter sound is this: “Camera shutter sounds are intended to deter unauthorized photography, especially in places where privacy is at risk, like public restrooms and crowded transportation.” The legality of turning off the shutter sound does vary from country to country, though.
@@LaughingDad so for any device to be released in Japan, they have certain skus that are location specific for guidelines. Smartphones are forced to have shutter sounds with no way to disable in the settings. Similarly, that's why only some iPhone models specific to the EU have access to extra 3rd party app stores since it comes down to laws.
I can't wait to see the comparisons!! I first found your channel for a review on theb Papershoot camera, and I've also been interested in Camp Snap
I ordered one last week for my daughter’s 8th birthday. I like that there is no screen or games to distract her.

@@LaughingDad Awesome thanks!
As far as I read you can turn the sound off on the camp snap.
Next to the SD card are supposed some buttons or something :D

Interesting. How does that logic apply to smartphones?
@@LaughingDadphones in Asian countries, especially Japan, have it mandated that you can't disable camera shutter sounds
