- Is Monarch Crest on your bucket list? If not, it will be after this video. I promise. Just outside of Salida, CO and utilizing both the Continental Divide Trail and Colorado Trail... this high alpine masterpiece is a must ride, and definitely worthy of it's IMBA Epic status!! I was able to sneak my drone up before a thunderstorm rolled in, pretty lucky! Thanks for joining me :) #skydio2 #imbaepic

Ride bikes. 🚲 Drink beer. 🍺 Live happy. 😀 - Спорт
This was the first "big" ride I did after I moved to Colorado and I swear I couldn't stop grinning for the entire time I was riding it. So much fun!!!
YES!! such a fun ride :) I'm grinning just thinking about it!! Ride on, Moishe :)
Living in the prairie's , I have been in awe of the landscape and views in your videos... but in this one , Alan, the drone footage was AhhhhMAZING !!!!! This was GREAT !!!! Thank you, just made my day !
That makes me happy to hear, Scott :) fyi - When I did this ride, a storm rolled in and I wasn't able to put the drone in the air... I came back the next day to ride a different section of trail (Fooses Creek), but had to ride a nice chunk of Monarch Crest to get to it... luckily, it was clear and I was able to fly and incorporate the drone footage!
Always cool to tag along on your ride
forget tagging along in a video, KC - come out here and ride with me in real life loco!
Just did Monarch to Fooses creek the other day, what a trail!
Fooses is fantastic too :) That first drop gets ya in it real quick! Ride on :)
Nice video! Great trail! Love the sing-a-long up high to get through the rain. Your video misses the parts of Rainbow where you are in and out of those crazy drainage ravines. Maybe I was just tired when I rode them by then but they seemed to be endless.
Thanks for watching and commenting, Paul :) Yep, I remember those ravines well... they are endless, and I didn't want the video to be! Ride on :)
Well done, as always! The scenery was amazing, I appreciate the drone footage. All we have around here are corn and bean fields.
Thanks for watching E Bohm! Ride on :)
Beautiful trail.
It truly is :) Thanks for watching!
Awesome that you're in my backyard!!
You've got a pretty nice backyard, Daniel :) Magical!
@@DirtyTeethMTB always happy to share it my friend!
Awesome stuff. Drone footage really adds another dimension and gives the viewer an appreciation of the scale of the trails. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment, Graham - glad you enjoyed :)
great vid make more please
Thanks, Robert! I've got a couple more from the Colorado Trail... I'll try and get them edited in the near future :)
Yet another Great video and the drone footage was maybe even more Spectacular than usual. I think I could watch the drone footage alone for hours. It's just Amazing technology that make your videos even better!
Thanks for the kind words, Richard... I'm thinking I have enough drone footage to start making some compilations with background music... that people could just play in the background at a house party, while they're cooking, etc... might be fun :)
That was a fun ride! Perfect video before my Saturday ride, now I’m psyched to get on my Kona and head to the mountains! I’m digging your channel! Cheers
Right on, Omare! Glad you got a little stoke before your riding - get out there :)
A great video Alan; your drone footage went to another level and certainly enhanced the experience. Very interested to hear how you did some of the drone footage 😊🚴♀️
Thanks for the kind words, Michael :) I just throw that thing in the air, flail it around while trying not to piss off any other trail users, and cross my fingers there's something usable!! It's called a Skydio 2, and it autonomously tracks me... this video I made when I first got it might give you a little insight, ride on! ua-cam.com/video/9YLkp71sJZk/v-deo.html
I hope to drive down from Canada and do this trail in 2 weeks!
lucky you! it's gorgeous!
Fantastic Al, each video surpasses the last. I feel like I’m on top of the world when I go over my local big hill, it’s a whopping 167 ft, so it must have been wonderful up there.
Much Love Ed
Ed, thanks so much for your kind words :) I wish all my rides were as photogenic as this one! 167ft or 12,000ft - who cares, as long as you're riding and having fun!!! Be well :)
Nice video! I’ll be hitting parts of that ride soon as I bikepacking that section of the CT. Great to get a preview!
Pedro, have a blast on the CT :) I made this video while taking a day off from riding on the CT... so much goodness out there... wear comfy shoes and embrace the hike :)!!
I always enjoy your videos. Thank you. Can you tell me what your frame is?
Thanks, Peter !! That bike is a Niner RKT9 RDO - ride on :)
Really enjoyed riding along with you, such a beautiful location. Your drone footage is amazing, it gives an epic vibe to the experience. Quick question do you navigate from a computer or phone? You seem to know the trails really well. Good stuff, thanks for taking us along.
Thanks for the kind words, Shane :) I usually navigate from a computer, and depending on the ride, I'll have the track on my phone via Gaia... but this trail is very well signed and there's a magical ribbon of goodness that's easy to follow :) Ride on!
Which bike did you use for this ride ? Nice ride. Thank you.
My go to - Niner RKT9 RDO :) Ride on!
I would love to move to Colorado but my wife says NO WAY... she wants to be back east near her family :-( Was that a marmot at 7:56?
haha! yes, that was a marmot - good eye! thanks for watching... Better do what the lady says.. Happy wife, happy life :)
