I get peace and contentment from your beautiful videos. You make me want to paint. After 10 years of feeling nothing, you've given me a gift. Thank you x
The way you sketch in ink is truly masterful, especially how you do the power lines with such confidence and direction... This isn't something that can be taught, but rather learned through years of repetition and the building of skill...
Oh my goodness, so clean fresh and simple, yet looks so beautiful, definitely inspired me to have a go with pen drawing, a lot of pen drawings I have seen, seem to over complicate things which put me off trying, thank you for this helpful video.
I really love your art style. It resonates with me because I'm a better drawer than painter and I'm newer to watercolour. I'm a photographer as a hobby and can think of so many images I want to recreate simply, using this method. Thank you!
to mr. Sheeler, thank you so much for sharing your wonderful gift. I could only hope to share in what God has given you. once again, thank you kindly for sharing. God bless you.
Very nice Peter, you make watercolor look very easy, and actually with practice and your technique it's not so difficult to achieve artist grade work. Thanks a lot, I've improved my art work since I started following you.
Peter, I will be retiring in about 3 weeks and after watching your videos it has rekindled my love for watercolours. I still have a few watercolour sets (some unused) and pads of watercolour paper which will go to good use. I love the way a lot of your colours are actually mixed on the paper to give buildings and trees an unevenness of colour and texture. Thank you for the videos, I find your uncomplicated style to be absolutely inspirational to all, none more so than a humble amateur like myself..
Hi Peter .. I have been watching your videos for the last few days and I have to say I absolutely love your style. There are different ways one can approach watercolour paintings but I like your style very much and I will be honest, I will try to imitate you. Thank you very much indeed.
I like this image - it reminds me of Quentin Blake in a way. I mentioned your thin slivers of paint in a recent video of mine - I see in your description you pour them on paper then stick them in. The Large Pans by W&N have a huge block of paint in a porcelain base and you can cut them with scissors and glue them into a palette if you wish - see my recent product review of them - I thought of you and mentioned your palette during it and it might be a really economical option for urban sketchers to make travel palettes from. Each $10-25 large pan is about 20 times the size of the slips of paint you use so enormous value even compared to tubes.
I love this picture. Did you use reference material? The drawing is great even without adding color. Although when you add the color it really pulls the mood together. I adore that old fence. Thank you for sharing your talent.
God in action ! I could visualise the sun setting slowly from the intensifying values that you used. It started with a somewhat late afternoon sun to a one closer to setting. Superb play with values. Wow 🤩
Hi Peter, love your paintings especially your pen and wash paintings. I have tried a few and have surprised myself. I am a beginner and I have a question regarding your tutorials. I thought I might try and sell one of my paintings on etsy so I am wondering if it is permissible to sell my painting that I painted following your tutorial on etsy or is that breaking the rules. As I said I am new to this and I don't want to break any rules.
Another beautiful painting. Thanks for sharing again, I've learned SO much from you! Just a couple of questions though...you say your "paints are poured onto slips of paper and then stuck to the palette"-why do you do it this way, why not just use the palette without the papers? How do you get the papers to stick? Do you let the paint dry before using and if this is the case, why not just buy half pans to begin with?...I'm sorry I don't mean to give the third degree but I'm just learning and have a katrillion questions--but I'll spare you :)...Again thank you so much your time and talent is greatly appreciated!!
Hi Ima. I do it this way so the colors can be easily switched in this small palette. Yes the paint is dried. Just my way and not necessarily the best way. Thanks, Peter
Thank you for answering so quickly!...doing it that way makes perfect sense as does having a small palette so that we can see it. I, for one, really appreciate that you let us see AND let us know which colors your are using each time you change...Technique was easy to learn but mixing I'm finding particularly challenging so thanks again for all you do (and how well you do it)!
I LOVE your style!!! New to watercolor. Ink portion I can do, no problem. Adding the watercolor? I need LOTS of practice! Thank you for sharing your technique with us.
What, no phtalo blue, no Sepia? Who are you and what have you done with the real Peter!? Haha, just kidding, great work as always! I have been trying your sketching style in some recent drawings, and I'm amazed how well it works. Keep up with the good work! greetings from Brazil :)
I can't get nearly a half of the beautiful wash you're getting. Im using Koi watercolors, #6 brush on Canson 140lb paper. I can't get the colors to match right either...mine look washed out, or over saturated, or "bumpy"
Hi Charlie. The two papers do react differently. I would prefer to use Hot press all the time. I switch to cold press sometimes because I know it is preferred by many watercolorist. No other reason.
Honestly Peter , I just watch you paint for therapy at times , the music and your art is soothing ! Good man 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Very kind words. Thank you

Agreed!
I know it is not as easy as you make it seem, but so appreciate your style and sharing. Love the painting.
Thank you very much Lois :)
Wow - love the way you paint. I'm a newbie (old'ish) and just learning a new skill. Thanks for sharing yours.

This is great! I'd love to know your thought process! I never know where to start.....
Just copy his work (for practice, not to claim as your own of course 😂😂) it'll give you ideas
I love this picture. Did you use reference material? The drawing is great even without adding color. Although when you add the color it really pulls the mood together. I adore that old fence. Thank you for sharing your talent.
Thank you Mary. It is from an original idea from imagination.
God in action ! I could visualise the sun setting slowly from the intensifying values that you used. It started with a somewhat late afternoon sun to a one closer to setting. Superb play with values. Wow 🤩
Makes me think of Christopher Robin and Pooh bear on a blustery day :)
I can see that :)

Фирменная рваная линия просто создана для скетча

Thank you. I believe this one is sold. I just sell a few little ones on ebay these days. Link is below the video.

Hi Beth. Thank you and you're very welcome
Very nice painting. Is this pencil synthetic?
The pen is pigment based
And thank you :)
Thanks....but i'm sorry...I wanted to ask about brush and not pencil. My mistake. The correct question is: Is this brush synthetic?"
great!
Thank you :)

Lol. Hey Thiago in Brazil. Great that these are working for you. Peter
Do you do a pencil sketch before going in with ink?
Hello Joey. No I don't.
No reference photo used. Is that relevant information?I like the drawing regardless; its very nice
Many people ask to see the reference photo so I mention when I don't use one. Thanks
Nice I like your art. Wana show you my pencil paintings but don't know how
just post a link here or on facebook
+Peter Sheeler 🤓
Funky sound track!
Thanks
I can't get nearly a half of the beautiful wash you're getting. Im using Koi watercolors, #6 brush on Canson 140lb paper. I can't get the colors to match right either...mine look washed out, or over saturated, or "bumpy"
Hi Tony. I don't use the Koi watercolors. Just the palette. All brands colours look different.
I just bought a 10 pack Windsor Newton cotman set, Im afraid to use them haha
Cotman paints are decent quality for the price.
Thanks Peter, you've been great! I am on instagram as illustratedtony
😍
How do you chose your paper each time? What effects do they have that contribute to your choices?
Hi Charlie. The two papers do react differently. I would prefer to use Hot press all the time. I switch to cold press sometimes because I know it is preferred by many watercolorist. No other reason.
Why did you do this with no reference photo? You did this from memory? Did you want to focus less on accuracy and have it be more dynamic?
Hi James. I just like to work from imagination. It's fun
Makes sense. It would come out more dynamic and lively.
🇬🇧Suburb!!, Many Thanks
Thank you Dennis :)
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you very much Loriann :)
My bookmark so I can come back 7:39
My pen and ink are pencil, pen, and ink, too many errors with shaky hands, need to correct too much. Thought the Newfoundland was amazing.
Nothing wrong with pencil first :)
Mein Gott die Musik ist ja schrecklich

You're very welcome. Thank you :)
