Until someone invents a time machine, music is the closest thing we have to transport us back in time. I enjoyed watching you enjoy this song, Harry. I was 10 when it was out.
I'll say it again and again, I get such joy in watching you go wild over these great oldies. Please don't stop bringing them back, we love it and at 74 I love going back in time. Great job Harri!

You misunderstood my post . It wasn't about me , but the country as a whole . BTW , the groups that you cited were lame as fuck . Seger , Nugent , Steppenwolf , and CCR were much better .
This was me and moms favourite song on the radio. over 50 yeArs later i found it on youtube, and i just wept. and i weep every time i hear it. RIP MOM 🌺🌺🌺❤️❤️❤️😔😢
Holy cow! I completely forgot about this song but remember almost every word. I seriously haven't heard this in decades. Wow, what a blast from the past! Thanks❤
Boney M "Daddy Cool." I heard that song one time in my life back in 77'. Sitting in a bar in Mombasa, Kenya. I was drinking a Tuskers beer. Not until 2020 did I hear it again on the internet.
Summer of the year it came out, Riding in the back of my best friends Moms Round back Volvo. It was sunny and hot, and the seats burnt a bit and the car smelled of PeanutButter. We were driving down to the beach for my birthday and there was four of us in the back laughing and sinning to this song. Great memories. I had this tune in my head for 35 years just a snippet and could not remember anything ells then a few years ago my daughter asked me to hum the tune and then she spent a few hrs a day over a week looking for it and then sent it to me for my 50th birthday present. Yup A song that truly has great memories.
Harri, watching the joy on your face as you gradually remembered this song after so many years was definitely worth the price of admission! It's moments like this that keep bringing us back to musical libraries such as yt over and over and over, in hope of scoring those songs long buried and almost forgotten in our minds. Thanks, amigo.
People were so much slimmer back then…i feel so good after hearing this song again. It really does make you feel good…😮 makes me wanna go out and hug a stranger 😂😂😂
Music has a special way of taking you back to another time, another place, or another someone and conjurs up vivid memories -- happy or sad. That's what you've experienced.
I thought that same thought when I heard this on an Australian channel .. and I haven’t heard it in years it came out in 1971 .. and I was ten when I heard it through my young teens and the it went away but never knew who sang it till now .. I’m 64 yrs young and I love it like it was yesterday song !!
D U D E‼️😎 I haven't heard this since it came out when I was growing up on Oahu 💗 That's freaking AWESOME!! I was just turning 10 in 1972! Thanks!! Great Channel!! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
A Lady Friend and I did this song at Karaoke one night. There weren't many people there who had heard it before..... We got a request to do it again the following week.
I love these two ~ it blew me away all those great bands out of the past from Holland Radio that were unknown in America ~ discovering them on the internet
In the second verse, MacNeal starts singing powerfully. I would love to hear her belt out. I searched several other of their videos, but never heard her belt. An unexploited talent.
Id been 2 yo, and I remember this song, such amazing voices and characters both of them, she's sorta sexy in a girl next door way too, has me mesmerized! Guess woman back then were had natural beauty inside and outside! Just amazing vocals in such a simple song! Wow. def brings back memories!
Some of the music we listen to and enjoy is more than just a tune, more than just lyrics or artists, we accompany them with a moment captured in our lives. Memories with their own soundtrack.
Mouth (Willem) lived till he passed away (2004) in an extreme small town in the Netherlands called "Roswinkel". My grandparents and dad lived there and grew up with him.
Part II 😁 Haven't scanned your channel to see if you have done these; Clint Holmes, PLAYGROUND IN MY.MIND,,, Melanie Safka, BRAND NEW KEY 🗝️ and why not,,, Donny Osmond, GO AWAY LITTLE GIRL,,, Jackson 5, WHO'S LOVING YOU in my opinion the ABSOLUTE BEST vocals I've heard from Michael Jackson!! Great GREAT CHANNEL!! ✌🏼☮️
I remember them from the 1974 euro song contest with a song called “ I see a Star” . But I do know this song also from where I don’t know, I like it though, brings back memories of teenage years.🎼👍
Your face says it all - looks like you were transported back to your childhood. This song is proof that the 70's had some real clunker songs along with all the brilliant music. Funny how we remember the clunkers the most. Thanks for this reaction, it was a joy to watch.
Until someone invents a time machine, music is the closest thing we have to transport us back in time. I enjoyed watching you enjoy this song, Harry. I was 10 when it was out.
I agree, but will add scents a close second
Mouth & McNeal are from Holland, but this song was a hit everywhere in '72. Great memories !
1972 I was in the US Army stationed in (West) Germany. This song got a lot of airplay. I remember it well.
I'll say it again and again, I get such joy in watching you go wild over these great oldies. Please don't stop bringing them back, we love it and at 74 I love going back in time. Great job Harri!
Isn't it amazing how a simple thing can bring back such great memories and a more happier time
I wore this 45 out on my plastic red and orange record player!
I hope you got another copy 😉
Summer of 1972.
For me, turning 18. The greatest summer of my life. Greatest summer of music, too.
Your face, when you recognized the song was priceless! I thought you might cry..... Music is the best memory booster I know. ʘ‿ʘ
I still have the 45.
This is one that is almost completely forgotten. A hidden gem.💎
I was going into 6th Grade when this came out and I fell in love with the girl. I have it on 45.
Im 57, i loved this song when i was little, my mom would play it, awesome!!!!!!!!
Two years later in 1974 they entered the Eurovision Song Contest with the song 'I See A Star'.
They came 3rd.
ABBA won with 'Waterloo'.
That’s really interesting info. Thanks for sharing ✌🏼
Summer of '72 , the war in Vietnam was still going on and on , this was a much needed feel good song .

Great song but the video for this is one of the best things ever. The fun their having in that video is pretty awesome.
Lol. I have seen that! Most bizarre little video I thought.
I've always loved this song. It came out in 1972 when I was 10 years old.
I was 9 and I have the '45. Great song and memories of elementary school.
I was minus one 🤣
What I like here is they both seemed to be really enjoying themself
This was a big hit in Canada, when it first came out. A great summer back in '72.
This was me and moms favourite song on the radio. over 50 yeArs later i found it on youtube, and i just wept. and i weep every time i hear it. RIP MOM 🌺🌺🌺❤️❤️❤️😔😢

Boney M "Daddy Cool." I heard that song one time in my life back in 77'. Sitting in a bar in Mombasa, Kenya. I was drinking a Tuskers beer. Not until 2020 did I hear it again on the internet.

Maggie has here soloalbum, Beautiful
Great times to be alive😅
It's a joy to see your face when you rediscover one of these lost gems from your past. Music is a time machine!
One of the most inventive songs from 70s. I loved this as a teenager. Mouth, the male singer, has passed on I believe.
yes...mouth died almost 20 years ago
Yes he did but she has a mediocre career.
Like Harri, I'd neither heard nor thought of this one in ages! Excellent pick and a great reaction that I can readily relate to!
I was a freshman in High school when this song came out. The 70s were full of one hit wonders
very much so
I'm almost 60--we had some fantastic music! Great reaction!
You must react to Daniel Boone and his song Beautiful Sunday. Has the same "take me back' affect as this song
This is one of my fave songs back then, I still enjoy it. It's a great, positive, feel good, timeless song.
Like a visit for an old friend.
I loved this song growing up!🎶🎵🎵🎶 "Ain't it what I'm living for?"🥰🥰🥰

You can find UA-cam videos of Maggie singing solo in which she really belts them out. Search for "When You're Gone" and "Amsterdam."
@@kevinhouse4376 Thanks for highlighting those songs for me!

This is the 70s in one song. There's another video of it that is the most bizarre thing ever.
This was my favorite song when I was a little girl! Still love it!
Another song bringing lovely memories ♥️💎
Mouth (Willem) lived till he passed away (2004) in an extreme small town in the Netherlands called "Roswinkel". My grandparents and dad lived there and grew up with him.

Great reaction Harri, haven't heard it in decades as well but recognized it instantly. Fond memories of youth.
I rediscovered this about 3 years ago and was just as excited as you. I was 12 in 72 but now it brings happiness hearing it as it did then.
I love your reaction when you discover a song from your childhood! Great song!!
I loved this song as a kid
I always loved that one! Such distinct, individual voices! Thanks for the reaction!
