Disagree on Reaves, he just proved he can be a third option on a contender in the playoffs and is still improving. Don't be shocked when he averages 20pts and over 5assists this year
Joel Embiid might get traded or ask for a trade if the sixers get eliminated in the playoffs again. Jimmy Butler man I wonder if he can lead the Heat to the Finals again. That was an incredible run the heat had despite losing in the Finals. I agree with this list
@@milkrvr4088if it was a popularity contest, maybe... but Jimmy needs a ring... not to mention he doesn't have any other notable accolades to add to his resume
What were the Celtics supposed to do? Let JB walk?!? Had to give him the max to get any value, weather that be production or trade down the road. We’ll forget about this contract next year, just like we all forgot about when Mike Conley set the record several years ago.
I don’t really get the sabonis take, he’s been one of the most consistent players in the league for four straight years averaging 18.5+ points, 12+ rebounds and 5+ assists on 53.5%+ shooting every years for 4 years, there is no reason to think this will dip
your trippin because Sabonis had a broken finger practically the whole year. if anything he is gonna do better because better chemistry and a few more pieces we picked up this season. not to mention an improved keegan murray
Betting on these stocks is how you win championships more time than not. It's the reason why the poverty franchises like the Chicago Bulls can't keep talent or attract players that want to play for their franchise. I do agree with some takes, but trading these players is unrealistic.
Jb Bruce Brown and Austin Reeves are all worth every dollar spent. I think Austin Reeves has Fringe All Star potential. In an injury-plagued year he could make the All-Star game. Bruce Brown is a Swiss army knife kind of player. He does a little bit of everything and does it all pretty well. The Celtics pretty much have been in the Eastern conference finals every year of jaylen Brown's career. he took a pay cut on his last contract and got overpaid on this contract so all is even. The myth of him not being able to go left, is just that a myth. The guy played the entire postseason run with a lacerated shooting and in game 1 of the Eastern conference finals he injured his elbow on the same hand when he slipped on a wet spot. From that point on he pretty much couldn't handle or shoot the ball, up to that point he had been the better player between him and JT
ehhhh. your argument for Reaves was kinda iffy. He averaged 13 points in the 2023 season, 11 points in FIBA so far in limited minutes and touches 15.1 points as a starter last season, 18.1 points the last 20 games in the regular season, 16.9 points in the playoffs, and 21.3 points vs the nuggets. that doesn't seem like role player numbers
Even though I agree in most cases, I just dont get why you should sell, in exchange for what this offseason compared to next season? More details please.
Yeah sorry he's not playing with a top 10 player when healthy in AD. The difference between Bam and AD is the difference between a finals and a title. Also the topic of the video wasn't about winning a title. You're doubting he can be as good as he was when he was injured and still led Miami to the Finals@@And.One.Hoops1
I understand the call, but I don't agree with your reasoning on Jaylen Brown. Dude's not getting the giant contract because he's being overvalued; he's getting the giant contract because he's the first person to do so under the new reality. Five giant 'overpay' contracts from now, it'll seem like the new normal, most likely. It's not on him, and it's not on the team management. As for the handle issue, I think it's (A) something he can improve pretty easily, and (B) wildly exaggerated. It's occasionally been problematic. Meanwhile, there are a lot of players who have much worse dribbling skills but who never get called for travels, etc. Embiid gets away with an embarrassing illegal dribble in one of the clips you used, in fact. What always makes me slightly nervous with Jaylen is how he flirts with Kyrie-esque conspiracy-theory drama that can derail a whole season and even a whole team. I'm always hoping to see that locked down.
1) he hasnt improved his handle in his first 7years... 2) i agree, its definitely on the celtics management they should have let him walk, bcs now with the new cba they have a ceiling below winning the ring. If they had let him walk, sure its a step back but with a possibility to take two steps forward. Alternatively they should have traded him before the season but not for old KD but somebody younger (they have 1st round picks, could have been creative) - now they probably event cant trade their picks bcs of the cba and if they still can tatum is coming soon... 3) he is absolutely overvalued, same as beals contract isnt looking exactly cheap right? or dame (even tho hes much better than brown) 4) jaylen relies a lot on his athleticism, hes been 7years in the league, hes heavily reliant on athleticism - thats not getting any better, in fact his peak in terms of pure athleticism is most likely behind him. When he gets a 10% less athletic he will be worse on ball defender and his off ball defense is like mine, that guy has defensive awerness of a blind and deaf person... (im sorry but hes lgt the guy causing most defensive errors for celtics) but to give him credit his class on ball, even tho in the playoffs he sometimes sucked in that too but generally hes a great on ball defender 5) his best chance is as you say work on that handle, bcs you can say overblown whatever but its definitelly wayyyyyyyyy bellow average for a primary/secondary shot creator Supermax takes 35% of the cap i think, im sorry but unless he and tatum improve in a lot of things and celtics find some undrafted dawg at pg position they aint winning with this duo. (obviously the whole league getting injured is another option) and once again both of them have been in the league for some time jaylen was drafted in 2016 i like him hes a great all star level guy, but hes definitely not a primary guy on a championship team so he just simply aint worth the super max regular max id say is fair given how the nba works. and that could be a difference one quality role player more... and a lot of the times margins in playoffs are small, unless a team folds in the 4th again i wanna stress this, im not saying hes bad, but when im arguing why he is not worth something i have to be critical. being worth the max is still and incredible feat but considering tatum isnt mj/shaq/lebron/curry/giaanis/joker etc... the celtics need both tatum, brown and some above average role players which simply aint gonna happen with tatum and brown taking up roughly 70% of the cap. (contracts dont jump every year, the world economics doesnt seem so strong really and that will eventually affect the nba too...😅) edit: oh you said that its not on the management nevermind then i disagree with that but i agree that its not on him, just that he doesnt belong to that standard the last thing that cane to my mind, you can argue mike conley, to that i say, how many titles did he win after the contract? if he did even any, i dont think so but thats not the point, the point is grizzlies had to take a step back to jumb 2 steps forward (then mister morant..., but thats another topic, they are still way closer then with conley as their guy)
The rise of De'Aaron Fox will help Sabonis?? Bro, Sabonis unlocked Fox, not the other way around. To trade dray or klay or Steph is foolish. They are a high functioning 3 headed snake that works but wouldn’t if one piece is removed. They just got a chip and have won a lot more in past. As long as those three and Steve are fine with the situation I wouldn’t move anyone. There is much more value in keeping them around and developing guys that come through while still competing like poole(yes Ik), kuminga, moody, lamb, and future young guys. These guys know how to get it done the king’s series along with there track record proves it. Just get them there and they will get it done.
