Anyway, from what I heard, she was glad Genisys wasn't a big success, because if it had been, she might have been stuck doing sequels for a while. Maybe her heart was never in the role to begin with? hey of the 4 failed sequels its definitely the best one. Also the only one of the 4 failed sequels that somewhat wants you to find out what happens next because unlike the endings of the other 3, it leaves the future unwritten and unknown (whereas we know exactly what will happen in the others)

The two first Terminator movies, the ones made by Cameron the Great himself, are the only canonical movies (in my head canon). They tell a complete story in themselves. The other movies are just fan fiction by other directors and writers. Enjoy whatever good there is, and never mind the rest. It's all apocryphal anyway!
Exactly, the emphasis wasn't about time travel, it was about what it meant to be human and how knowledge of the impending Armageddon affected the human characters, Sarah found her Inner Strength, the Terminator found its humanity, and John discovered his destiny, and with that Hollywood should have just left well alone.

I actually think T3 gets a bad rep. It ended well(on the depressing note too cause they lost) and was a solid action flick. HATED Salvation, couldn't believe I was bored in a Terminator movie, and hated this one too, except Schwarzenegger.
+Samuel Shin The biggest mistake T3 made was breaking the tone established by the previous movies by treating the series as a sought of parody. Misplaced comedy and a lack of emotional resonance made that film very disappointing. I don't think it's that bad though.

I couldn't get through T3, but I was genuinely surprised by how watchable Salvation after hearing how "terrible" it was (or maybe it was because of everything I heard about it lowered by expectations). Don't get me wrong- I still thought Salvation was a bad movie. But I think it mostly suffered from a bad script, because I thought the acting was mostly good (I too thought the kid playing Kyle Reese was perfectly cast), the action was entertaining, and I really appreciated that it tried to something different from every other Terminator movie. But it's flaws (mostly the plot) dragged it down. Overall, I didn't hate watching it (unlike T3), but I don't think I'll be checking it out again any time soon.
I still think that the perfect closing to Terminator would be to discover a "human" Arnold Schwarzenegger character in the film as the architect of the entire crisis. I mean they had to base the T-800 on an actual person, right?

I actually really enjoyed this movie. I liked that it repeated a lot of things from the original or slightly altered them. I liked that everything can change now. The trailer with John Conner as a terminator was a huge spoiler, but most of the people I knew weren't excited to see it until that trailer came out, so they got us in the theater. I liked it.

One assumes that the original hero was a different John Connor. Plus, with all the sperm competition, unless you had sex at the exact same time in the exact same way, you'd probably end up with some other embryo.
Just watched this movie after seeing Dark Fate. Genisys is rather generic and is nowhere near as good as T1 and T2 of course but this movie is still fun and you can tell the actors at least had fun. Dark Fate is totally joyless in comparison and I would rather watch this again than that

+Samuel Shin The biggest mistake T3 made was breaking the tone established by the previous movies by treating the series as a sought of parody. Misplaced comedy and a lack of emotional resonance made that film very disappointing. I don't think it's that bad though.

I couldn't get through T3, but I was genuinely surprised by how watchable Salvation after hearing how "terrible" it was (or maybe it was because of everything I heard about it lowered by expectations). Don't get me wrong- I still thought Salvation was a bad movie. But I think it mostly suffered from a bad script, because I thought the acting was mostly good (I too thought the kid playing Kyle Reese was perfectly cast), the action was entertaining, and I really appreciated that it tried to something different from every other Terminator movie. But it's flaws (mostly the plot) dragged it down. Overall, I didn't hate watching it (unlike T3), but I don't think I'll be checking it out again any time soon.

I actually really enjoyed this movie. I liked that it repeated a lot of things from the original or slightly altered them. I liked that everything can change now. The trailer with John Conner as a terminator was a huge spoiler, but most of the people I knew weren't excited to see it until that trailer came out, so they got us in the theater. I liked it.

Just watched this movie after seeing Dark Fate. Genisys is rather generic and is nowhere near as good as T1 and T2 of course but this movie is still fun and you can tell the actors at least had fun. Dark Fate is totally joyless in comparison and I would rather watch this again than that
