If you watch other shooters (even Klay) there’s a teensy little delay between gathering the ball and releasing it. They wait till they at the peak of the jump. They have to bring the ball to the side of their face or in front of it and then the arms launch the ball wherever they shooting. With Curry the jump is way shorter on most releases and it’s one straight line from his hip to the release point. So all that momentum from his legs to his hip all the way to the tip of his fingers is a smooth energy transfer no wasted movement. This is how he can shoot that far that motion is easier to replicate and he not even aiming with his arms his whole body is angled where his shooting side is turned closer to the basket than the non shooting side. This eliminates most misses that would go too far left or right. All he has to do is make sure he’s not hitting front or back rim. After the release you’ll see him drift his feet a lil closer to the basket almost like a fade away that’s how he gets the right arch on the release as well.

Steph isn’t ruining basketball but the reason he’s being celebrated is…. 3’s and dribbling are equally common… all that’s needed on the court is the 3 arch. It ain’t Steph’s fault. But it’s diluted the game.
