    I got prescribed this three days ago and haven’t taken it yet. I’m too afraid to. So many bad reviews has scared me from doing it. I still don’t know if I should or not. But that’s the problem with anxiety. Keeps u from doing things. I mean I’m literally having anxiety over taking anxiety meds 🤦🏼‍♀️

      It's a tricky situation... just remember if you try and it doesn't work, you don't have to use it forever. There are lots of options for everyone and I hope your doctor takes you seriously and supports you.
      I also wish you the best of luck 🌻

      I just got prescribed it today. For social anxiety. I’ve dealt with anxiety for so long it feels like a part of who I am. To think I could not be anxious feels somewhat impossible. Maybe that sounds strange. Either way I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

    Hello there :) day 4 of lexapro so far so good, no symptoms…however my panic attacks are triggered from phobia of side effects and today I’ve read that some people literally can’t stop yawning, so I’ve been yawning all day nonstop ( even though I’m not tired at all ), triggered a panic attack so 2 Ativans later here I am. Has anyone experienced it?

    I have tried many antidepressants over the years with varying degrees of success. I have been taking Lexapro for 3 weeks. First week 10mg then 20mg after that. Loss of appetite for 2 weeks and wipes out libido. Antidepressants can take up to 12 weeks to get the full effect. Lexapro is very slow acting, so for most people the effects will take time. Alcohol consumption can actually decrease the effectiveness of antidepressants. Lastly, i have Clinical MDD. I personally don't think anyone should take any antidepressants if they just have situational depression as the depression will eventually pass on its own, but for people like myself who have had lifelong depression it can be a life saver.

    My boyfriend has been on Lexapro (5mg) for about a month, and the first couple of times he had a few drinks the effects were definitely heightened for him. It even gave him a bit of a panic attack the first time, but now he just takes it slower and limits his intake.

      Yes my doctors put me on 5mg for a week and then go up to 10 after. I currently am on day 5 and sleeping alot appetite decreased. I noticed feeling intermittent episodes of relaxation which caused me to panic because I'm so used to feeling anxious and panic. I'm so tired of this so the sleeping is a break from this bizarre reality!

    im currently in my second week on Lexapro. I started the full dose last friday. I take it at night so today marks the 4th night on a full dose. I think i still have a little trouble sleeping. Like my mind is just on overdrive and i know that I was able to sleep but it felt like I was not able to sleep.
    I just want to share that on my 3rd day on lexapro, i definitely felt less irritable. Things that would normally ruin my morning are not so irritable anymore. Im able to brush them off. I am calmer when talking to my parents. I also used to get irritated when my i get interrupted while working (i work from home) but that is not the case anymore. Maybe it is a placebo effect because the doctor said it would take 4-6 weeks before the meds start working but i feel good (except for the problem sleeping part).

      Even though I drank pretty regularly at the time, Lexapro worked for me when I was taking it back in 2010. But I quit drinking about 3 weeks ago. Debating whether or not to go on fluoxetine. Back in March of this year, my GP was gonna prescribe me these meds but didn’t make quitting alcohol a prerequisite. She just said that 3 - 4 drinks a day was a lot and I should consider cutting back.

    I started taking Lexapro and it's my second day. There's a lot of people online that has posted they have no bad reactions with marijuna use on lexapro. I smoked last night, and I've had horrible body tremors since. It's now been 12 hours, and I'm still having twiching. I told my dr to begin with that I smoked marijuana, and they didn't give me any advise besides "there's no known negative links between the two" just pay attention to your own body. I used to get body tremors previously before lexapro, but I've never had it this bad before. Has anybody else experienced this?

    This was very helpful for me! My PCP recommended Lexapro to me. It makes me nervous because I tried Zoloft in 2016 and had a very bad experience and was too anxious to try anything else. But lately my sleep has been really rough with waking up 3-4 times in the night. I haven't given an answer if I'll try the medication yet, but I'm leaning towards trying it.... I have an appointment in the next week or 2 so I'll keep thinking about it until then. I've tried natural things for sleep, including melatonin. Nothing helps in the long run. I am also not on any other prescriptions, so this would be entirely new for me.

I can't study and daily routine chores have become extremelly difficult. I have a hard time off my bed and sleeping more than enough. I can't even bath regularly. Hi, just a little thought, have u checked your blood pressure when u get your dizzy spells ? Medication can both raise n lower blood pressure and if it's low can make u feel dizzy and faint. I got raised blood pressure from a medication I take but I just ignored it until it got super bad giving me a terrible headache. As a result I bought a blood pressure monitor and if ever I feel faint especially when I stand up I check my blood pressure and sure enough it's low. Likewise if I feel anxious and uptight and headachy it's often high. I also had trouble sleeping for years after a major operation and got addicted to sleeping pills. Once I understood fully how much blood pressure affects you I realized it was high blood pressure that was affecting my sleep and now I sleep way better now I've lowered my blood pressure. No one ever tells you this but sometimes what u think is anxiety is actually high blood pressure

    • @Bekkibygone
      @Bekkibygone  5 років тому +1

      Thats something interesting to think about! I've never been told I have abnormal blood pressure before when it's been checked but it hasn't been checked during a very anxious time for me. I do know my dizziness is due to an inner ear condition I have though.

I have been putting it off not believing in Meds for all that is wrong for a long long time... I am amazed that the best Dr I could find in the area for just 45 minutes and he prescribed me this drug... SO my question is this... Side effect = lower sexual drive yes or no?? my apologies for the very personal question.. but its a major concern and a very common side effect or so I am told....
