Too bad Royd were still being wanted by the government, and couldn't overcome his past becoming a mass murderer under Grimnir, and finally killed by OCU Dull Stags as stated in Front Mission 2, canyon crows is my favorite squad ever.
ScoTEven, that "heck" is Lloyd's Wanzer. After his fiancee was murdered and her brain made into Type S device computer, Lloyd installed the computer (and hence his fiancee) onto his Wanzer and finished off Driscoll. After the war, Lloyd incinerated his Wanzer together with the computer, letting his fiancee rest in peace.
@gostunv Yeah, it should be Canyon Crow (キャニオンクロウ), but the translators probably felt (wrongfully?) that it sounded silly and replaced every instance of it with Carrion Crow. At that stage, it was better to change the ending too.
Just finished this game. I thought the ending and music were quite nice. I wish there was more character development in these games. Colliseum was pretty weak also. I had a great time beating it. Great upload! BTW did anyone notice Driscoll's theme sounded really similar to Kefka's?
Is this an emulator or the gameboy advance version? If it's an emulator, could you tell me where to find it (the English version)? I've been jonesin' to play this game for awhile. thanks!
Don't know if you are reading this, but I tried to play it. It really hasn't aged well, and this game came out after there had been more sophisticated strategy games, like Super Robot Wars.
Dude this is on DS i saw this and the other ending they were great but i wonder why they made it on SNES i thought because of the anime parts it was PS 1 stuff
Now that's SquareSoft stuff. Not whatever passes for everything up to the finale. Up until the finale and the reveal of the truth about the Nirvana Engine, everything about the plot and all of the characters (except maybe Driscoll) was so boring that I had a hard time believing that SquareSoft made this.
@wtfman880 Late reply because I just popped back to see this ending again, but...yeah, a band arrangement playing this would be awesome. :D Somehow, though, I'm not sure the Lady Gaga- and Justin Bieber-loving people of today would appreciate it for what it is... XD
Spoilers Very late reply, but I thought it was a sensible conclusion. Royd was a very broken man by the end of the first game. Most games could take the common route of the player character getting things together and moving on, but instead they decide to take a path less traveled for the sake of showing how bad it can get. In making his fate more subdued it gives a sense of tragic realism to it. Despite the major role Royd played in the first game, he's still only a fraction of a greater issue in this globalized nightmare of a setting.
Man, it feels great finding this video while i am developing a FrontMission type game, and this ending damn, i loved it.
I cried at the end.

Lloyd is incinerating Karen's brain device, laying her to rest in peace.

the ending feels kinda sad..
God I love this song ;_;

this game series is dead
It's a shame Square Soft gave a such pathetic ending for Royd and Canyon Crows in Front Mission 2.
What is the Canyon Crows fate in Front Mission 2??
Spoilers
