You have been such a blessing to us, praise God. I hope you can help us with this. I don't know what I am doing wrong but even when I usually sing (not trained), my throat tend to hurt even with just 1 song, even when it is in my relaxed key...am I breathing wrong? I tried the one that says breathe in the stomach. I pray and hope that I could sing more songs without suffering from this as it causes me to cough in between. Thank you so much, may God bless you more
Hi! This used to happen for me too - my voice would get tired and sore after singing even for a shorter time. It is usually not a breathing issue; it's usually because we are pushing too much from the throat (pushing up chest voice). Check out my "What is Mix Voice?" video on the channel to learn more about how we can sing in a more balanced way to have less vocal fatigue!
This is a terrible video! I am a professional singer who has led worship in New York City at both Trinity Baptist Church and Redeemer Presbyterian Church for 15 years. Her vocal approach is downright wrong and will confuse an untrained singer and over time actually do damage to the voice. Worship song leaders, do not do these exercises!
Hi Melinda! I can appreciate that you come from a different vocal background, with different vocal training. I know that not everyone is in agreement about what exercises are best for the voice. These exercises are specifically designed for singers who desire to train their voice in a pop/contemporary style, by training the voice to blend resonators (to sing in a mix). I am indebted to those who came before me and have done immense study to make sure that these techniques are not only helpful, but also healthy - namely Brett Manning of Singing Success (who I have studied extensively with), and Seth Riggs of Speech Level Singing. Both of these coaches have trained so many incredible singers who have healthy, flourishing voices.
I love this and everything she does. She is a 🙌 blessing
