First off, your videos are fantastic. I can't wait to see you come out with Yzma, Ratigan, Hades, Evil Queen, and Dr. Facilier over the next few months! Quick question about your description of how to win the game. You say that if the strength of all your wickets is higher than or equal to the cost of the 5 cards, you win the game. However, the 'Take the Shot' card says: 'If the total Cost is less than the total Strength of all your Wickets, you make the shot and win the game.' I take this to mean that if the Strength and Cost are equal, you do not make the shot. I feel like it would say 'less than or equal' to as the proviso on the card if you were to win the game when they are the same. Do you concur? Cheers!
I concur! Man I really appreciate you catching that. I must have mispoke . But I really appreciate the feedback and excitement you have for the channel. Yes! Who are you most excited for?
@@LordoftheBoard Absolutely! I really appreciate all the work it must take to put these videos together! I'm definitely interested to see your Yzma video. I generally find her to be a little too easy to win with, so I'm wondering if somehow I'm missing something with how to play her, or how to play against her. I'm also very interested in some Ratigan and Dr. Facilier videos as I feel like those two require and could benefit from some more in-depth tactical analysis! Thanks again!
Good tip about very merry unbirthday! I usually struggle to know which cards to hold and which ones to just play. The queen of hearts seems like a reckless play style. I like that you can talk out a strategy because she’s less long game and those are hard for me to play.
SparkletheBunny for the most part. If I don’t mention a card it’s a situational piece and you’ll want to just discard it! But very merry unbirthday is tricky cause it rewards you for waiting to have a lot of allies. But I say Better to just play and cycle through the hand! Thanks for watching and the analysis!
Actually, my one major problem with card concept is with Queen if Hearts: The White Rabbit should be an ALLY. He's in her court, he's a loyal servant. Dee and Dum are neutral like Hatter and Hare and the others, so if you needed an extra Hero they should have been it, not White Rabbit. Also it keeps bugging me that you keep calling Queen of Hearts "The Red Queen" (there are adaptations where that is a correct title for her, but this isn't one). But I still love these guides and you're giving such good info.
Adam Bram bad habit as I used to read the books growing up. Trust me it bugs everyone I am around when I call her Red Queen. I try so hard to remember. I appreciate the comment! And I agree about the white rabbit.
I will say that I was originally confused about why the tweedles were allies, but after some time, I came to think that it made more sense for them to be allies than heroes. I watched the movie recently and they, for whatever reason, seemed a little bit antagonistic towards Alice when they got the idea to tell her the story of the walrus and the carpenter. Of course, the whole movie is pretty much an acid trip, so who knows?
Beware the ultimate combo that would be used against you QOH users--Alice plus Momeraths. With Alice on the board, you can no longer move Allies or Items. The only way QOH can do so is her Move an Item/Ally Action. When the Momeraths are then used after that while Alice is still in play, you'll feel as if you're on trial and the QOH is presiding over your fate. Imagine all 4 wickets lined up, one in each location when this happens. Your opponent moves your lovely wicket from The Courtyard all the way to the White Rabbit's House. Talk about anguish. You have 4 wickets and cannot move any of them. Having the King and some spears on the Tweedles can help prevent this fatality, but please don't get caught in this trap. Trust, it won't be a royal time
This is a great video series! We love this game in our household and QoH is my go-to when playing just from the original set/I want a breezy game. The only thing I would add though are about spears. I know you mention adding them to the Tweedles, but I really think attaching them to the card guards really secures your ability to use only one Take the Shot to win. That's maybe my biggest strategy tip with her personally.
@@LordoftheBoard we cycle through some things, but currently enjoying Thanos Rising and Marvel Champions. Ticket to Ride and this really random Carmen Sandiego game from Target are also some of our go-to's for a game night. Oh thank you ! :) I wish I could redo these older ones and add all the cards. I only started covering every card in the deck starting at... I believe Facilier :)
The King of Hearts is also a useful ally. I never use it to vanquish, though. It's waaaay more useful to let him live to play cheap or even free Card Guards.

Hey! Yes sir. Remember she is a very quick villain to win with. But only if her boards open. Fate early, often, and strategically. Cover up the locations with activate actions first to slow them down. Hedgemaze you want to cover as early as possible. Best fate cards against her are Cheshire Cat, Alice, March Hare, and Mad Hatter. March hare and mad hatter are best if the other is already in play.
I think you're underselling the need to Fate opponents. Yeah, the Hedge Maze is really nice, but if you're never visiting Tulgey Wood or White Rabbit's House, then your opponent can just do whatever they want. You really need to swing by a Fate location to keep them in check.
werothegreat I appreciate the comment. And I see what you mean. I have found that more often then not the players playing red Queen that waste turns to fate end up slowing down their generally “quick paced” game. Yes. Also, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum are not the only ally other than Card Guards. The King is also a really important ally who reduces the cost of playing Card Guards.

@@LordoftheBoard I enjoy playing Jafar the most but Hades is really fun too. I like going on the hunt for the Scarab and get really happy if it turns up early cause your hand size increases.
Hi, I would like to ask you a question regarding the Cheshire Cat card. On the card it says that when the cat is played two guard cards will be turned from wickets back into guards and if you defeat him you can turn two guards into wickets. The question is once the cat is in play and the opponent turns two of your card guards back into guards can you convert them back to wickets by paying and activating their ability or you have to defeat him first? Thanks for your help and as always, amazing content.
Dill Pickle haha I have been trying to tell people there is hardly a need to do guides on how to defeat villains. Through these guides you can see what is important to the villains and the most dangerous fates.. best locations to cover. It’s all there. Thanks dill!
I feel like Queen Of Hearts needs a a redo… I genuinely can’t think of an easier character, at least in the base pack. She has a very weak fate deck which don’t help to stop her once she is winning. It’s also a very easy goal. The Hero cards need to be way better against her. It’s so bad that we’ve actually banned her from our group because she is so unbalanced. I don’t know if I’m playing against her wrong but I feel like she’s really unbalanced
Definitely not a ton of ways to stop her. Only ways to slow her down a bit. I still believe there are characters stronger than her though. ie Dr Facilier . But she is a very good character no doubt about that
liked the video very good tips and tricks. but i have a question due to her end game goal. so let’s say i have 1 wicket at each location. am i aloud to put another wicket at a location (now having 5 total) will it count towards the end game goal? or will it not? and cheshire cat, do i have to beat him to get my wickets back or can i change my card guards back into wickets again
The queen is easily my favorite villain out of the starting six but I have a question If I use take a shot and I get a condition as one of my cards do I count it as 0 power? Just one a game and I want to know whether or not it was just a fluke
Great job as always man! I started playing Villainous only recently, find it a lot of fun, but I would like to get an opinion from more experienced players.... Do you think the different villains are balanced enough? I won one with the Queen and one with prince John, then played with Ursula and Maleficent and lost. Especially with Ursula I was Vs Jafar and at the end of the game (maybe because we were playing in 3 and one guy left in the middle and we didn't reset the game) I was overwhelmed with heroes on the board, could move only in 3 locations and my opponent was continuously fishing for Ariel every time I defeated her...
So i think like any Assymetric game there isnt any definitive balance. What i will say to that is that some characters are easier to pick up than others. Ursula is one of the more tough villains to play. QOH is concidered to be one of the easiest to win with. But it all depends on the skill of your opponents too. My wife beats me with Ursula. But i struggle winning with Ursula against her. :)
hi so me and my family got the game a few days ago and are very still very confused on how to play it so I was wondering if you could explain it further. like when the card guards are turned to wickets can the other players remove them?
Yes! So when card guards become wickets the one thing that has changed is name and direction of the card. But in all cases it’s treated the same as before. It’s still an ally that can be removed :)
Hey Sam! I am currently playing as the Queen of Hearts, and had a question: when you play the Stopwatch card, it has the Activation symbol, and says to gain 1 Power for each Wicket in your Realm. Since I played the Stopwatch card, do I get to do what the card says, or do I have to wait till I move to a location that has the Activate action? (I'm guessing the latter and have to wait till I move to that location).
Part 2/another question I encountered: (Lol) when the Spear is attached to Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum, when you use them to defeat a Hero, they do not get discarded, but does the Spear get discarded, since that card gave a +1 Strength to the Ally? Or do you get to keep the Spear as well as the Ally? Thanks again for your help! Keep up the great work! =)
