Incredible video. Love all the colored layers and use of various mediums. Off to check out the rest of your videos and your website. Thanks for sharing your incredible talents !!!
This is a high caliber tutorial. Your technique is wonderful and your instruction is well-worded, as you include us in your own response to the process. Thank you so much!
Beautiful as always. I'm absolutely loving your content - The gentle way you speak & explain everything, the way you are so "free" with your art, the music you put with it... Perfection.
Just absolutely breathtaking. You are truly a very talented artist. Thank you so much for being a part of this event. This is by far much more than I expected to see! Please continue to post. Very lovely piece of art...
I love watching you draw the faces; there is such ease in your hand moving. You make it look so easy to draw these faces. I can't wait to learn from you. Thank you for sharing. Your drawing is simply marvelous!
I love how you have shown me about the mixed media part of your portraits, using pastels on top of acrylic, conte crayon and oil paint stick. Love watching your procedure
Oh she is stunning, you have me held captive here, and i am a really fussy person when it comes to falling in love with something, but this I just have to do. Now i thought watching your contemplation all i needed was charcoal, and pastel too, now i have a list to get lol, But i am so looking forward to trying this, and i did have a go the other night and surprised, no shocked myself at actually seeing a face appear just copying your video. Love it cant wait for more, Big hugs Dede xxx
***** Oh it makes me so happy to hear that, Dede! So great that you got inspired to try it out yourself. Would love to see what you created! And also what your next steps will be with this new video. By the way, it isn't really about the supplies. Just use what you have (unless of course you need an art supply enabler, which I can totally understand, then I'd say: *go for it*! ;-) ) Have fun and thanks so much for your comment!
Thank you so much Komal, I'm glad you like my videos! I'm currently very busy with teaching and developing my online art courses, but as soon as I have more time I will definitely post new videos here on UA-cam.
Thank you so much +green5sing! I can't reply directly to your comment, so therefore I'm replying separately, hope you'll get to see it. And I will definitely keep posting new videos, especially when I'm getting such sweet and supportive comments like yours and all the others here!

Juna this is so beautiful and your process is soooo relaxed. I.m new to drawing and painting faces and im struggling a little with the shadowing... I think its fear of not getting it right lol....but when i watched this it really inspired me so i think i will have to watch all your videos and try to do what you do...free and easy and maybe i will gain confidence in creating the right shadows. I am so happy to have found your channel...this is the first video i watch but i am subscribed and looking forward to watching your creativity at work. Absolutely stunning.....🙆🏻💙💚💛
Thank you so much Stevie! I am really happy to hear that you are inspired. Yes, just go for it and experiment, that's the best way to learn and to find your own artistic voice!
Yes, oil pastels are very different from soft/chalk pastels. The oil pastels are very creamy and greasy, while the latter are very dry, like chalk. I used soft pastels here, so the dry type.

Juna, Mr. Les (as I call him) is 84-ish, and until a bad stroke last year was still going strong! So glad you looked at his art!
I saw a few beautiful portraits made by him (don't know why I automatically assumed it was a woman) on Pinterest. What a great example!

+Donna Holdsworth Thanks so much Donna! I use reference photos. Not so much to make it exactly like the photo, but mainly for things like shading etc.
+Juna Biagioni Art
Thanks Juna:)
I love your mixed media portrait and how many mediums you used. May I ask if you sealed it and what did you use?
Thanks so much Anna! I didn't seal it because I made it in a journal and it wasn't really necessary. 🙂
Absolutey stunning portrait! So glad I found you through the love #summerart event. Cheers, Ginny :o)

I'd love to have you in class! :-) The current group is already filled to the max, but October is coming soon!!
Fantastic video I really #lovesummerart
Thank you Annemarie! So exciting, isn't it?!
Stunning, thanks for sharing your process. What kind of pastels do you use? Pastels confuse me It seems you can get chalk or oil..
Yes, oil pastels are very different from soft/chalk pastels. The oil pastels are very creamy and greasy, while the latter are very dry, like chalk. I used soft pastels here, so the dry type.
What do you use to seal your paintings please?
I didn't have to seal it since it's in my art journal. If necessary I protect it with a sheet of glassine paper. Hope this helps!
