- Hack Released by Pacnsacdave @pacnsacdave
"Sunsoft originally planned to make a Terminator game for the NES. They lost the license, and we all got the Terminator game from Mindscape. Sunsoft changed a few things (mainly the main character, and the story), and released Journey to Silius. This hack aims to try to turn Journey to Silius back into The Terminator. This hack replaces the title screen, cutscenes and story, ending, character graphics, as well as altering some enemies and bosses to look more Terminator-like. "

Finally a Real Terminator Game.
Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Nope.
@@Sandman_Slim Make it again!
The Sega CD is a good game too
The Terminator sega CD and Terminator resistance
I can imagine this game being a prequel to The Terminator: Kyle Reese is getting ready to go back to the past, but in order to actually get to the time machine he'll have to fight his way into Skynet's base.
Now we need a spiritual sequel that follows the events of John Connor after Kyle heads back to 1984. In the sequel, John fights in Kyle's place, making his way to the assembly area to find a T-800 exo-frame and reprogram it's Nuero-Net Processor. Once acquired, John and the rogue T-800 fight their way into Skynet's main server housing to destroy the mother computer. Once they've done so, John sets the self-destruct sequence for Skynet, winning the war. But he discovers that Skynet had a failsafe ready, by sending their new prototype across time, the T-1000. His final objective: Use the time-displacement equipment and send the T-800 back to 1995.
"Your mission is as follows: Arrive in 1995, and locate my younger self. Protect me at all costs from the T-1000 prototype. Destroy the prototype, then destroy yourself to erase all existence of Cyberdyne Systems technology. Remember: *THE FUTURE IS NOT SET. THERE IS NO FATE BUT WHAT WE MAKE FOR OURSELVES.* "
thats already a thing
its called Terminator Salvation
@krystalfan I know that, but this game was made a long time before that movie came out. Salvation is also from John's point of view, not Kyle's. So in my head that's how I can justify why this game's events don't match up to those of the original movie.
The only gripe I have about the game is that if you're low on health and that you kill the bosses and they shoot one last bullet at you, you'll end up dead and have to start the level over. But it's cool to see the game as a proper terminator game.
It's a garbage glitch fest.
It's so nice when the rom hacker make an effort to create an intro to his hack!
I'm happy the music stayed, such a great soundtrack
Ah! So the intended license for this game, re-applied. Well done OP.
This is a million times better than the LJN trash that the AVGN talked about. This is what we should have gotten.
The Terminator game that we deserve back at the 1990s...
Great hack as this was a Terminator game before licensing fell through, it's totally appropriate. But Jason's story through Silius is still amazing. Graphics and sound were stunning as most Sunsoft games were.
Jason? You mean from Blaster Master?
@@megamix5403 That is the kids name from Blaster Master yes. I believe they called him Jason Freudnick in the excellent remake BM Zero. But in Journey, his name was also Jason and he was avenging his father's death. I could mistaken though so you might want to research that quick. But I think that's right.
I played this one last year, and I can say I don't regret it.
It's really a Great Game 🔥🎮
Ufffffff, lo que siempre quise ver!!! Cómo hubiera sido el Journey to Silius si hubiera sido lanzado como un juego oficial de The Terminator👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
This is brilliant since Silius originally started development with the intention of being a Terminator game.
"Brilliant"

Exactly! This hack was destined to come someday, logically and inevitably. Amazing work.
I really enjoyed this music.
I mean, this is what the game was supposed to be...so why not?
Whoa, what? Why is the story in this hack set in present time and the playable character modified to look like Kyle Reese with a hand gun, even though the original game was obviously going to be set in the post-apocalyptic future? The playable character and the final boss were the two things in the original game that absolutely needed no graphical changes. I like the idea of changing Journey to Silius into a The Terminator game that it was originally meant to be, but the creator of this hack seems to have completely missed what the game's story setting was originally going to be.
I ALWAYS play it this way, or at least with some element of this mod. It'll always be the terminator in my mind.
Wonder how many people know that journey to silius was originally meant to be a Terminator game. I think the licensing just fell through. So it's really the most perfect of all retro game reappropriations.
Supposedly Sunsoft lost the license because their game had nothing to do with the movie. Yet look at Batman, awesome game that doesn’t really follow the movie.
@@bot-un7pu Well it definitely had something to do with the movie. It's just that it was all set in the future. Not what the movie was mainly about.
Fun Fact: *Sunsoft could either make a Batman game or a Terminator game. They went with Batman.
Gracias por tus videos este 2022, me han sido de ayuda para descubrir hacks, te deseo un 2023 lleno de exitos.
Better than real terminator.
If I didn't know better I would say this is a legit game from back in the day.
Хак хаком, но у sunsoft всегда музыка шикардос 👍
Whether its The Terminator or Journey To Silius, I enjoy both version of the game here...
