English Wheel Tooling EXPERT Shares Top Polishing Techniques
In this video Wray polished the lower anvils and the top wheel on our English Wheel but we have a new twist! This time he is also using a polishing wheel after using the 600 grit sandpaper.

Very VERY informative and greatly appreciated.
It's very relaxing to listen to somebody who really knows what they're talking about. Everything makes sense.
For a budget top wheel i use a steel/cast iron trolly wheel off a skip bin they come in all sizes with a round profile and need machining flat but its an hour at most for a machine shop to do it. there designed to be bashed around when the garbage trucks pick up the bins so there a really tough and usually only $50-$100 dollars I've used one for about 8 years now with no issues
I was wondering if one of those could be used for a DIY english wheel. Good to know it works!
Brilliant!
Nice to see you again.

Thanks for the video Wray.
You are very welcome
thanks for the vid.
Thank you !!++
Curious how, if you are, are you case hardening your wheels , I used to do a lot with sodium cyanate as/was the quickest and cheapest that gave good surface harness but still re-polishable, probably be even better today using induction heating 👍
The top of the buffing wheel turns opposite of the bottom thus you don't have to go to the other side to cut off the part😊.
