    That is brilliant! I've spent 40 years watching the shuttle!! In recent years I have wondered why my power of anticipation is not better, knowing that it's been a key weakness preventing me from moving up to the next level.
    Now I actually have something to work on, in the anticipation department. Thanks Lee. :-)

    wow, before this i definitely am only focusing on the shuttle, and as you say, my reflexes are slower since i don't see what my opponent is trying to do.. then i watch this video, today that same opponent was soundly beaten since i can anticipate his every move. thank you for this tip coach. thank you so much

      Coaching Badminton are there anything that the coach must be aware of?

    • @coachingbadminton
      @coachingbadminton  6 років тому

      Can you please narrow down your question. Are talking about coaching in general? Lee

    • @Hmmm13412
      @Hmmm13412 6 років тому

      Yes I would like a general advice like coach's attitude in practices and games. I would also like to learn what I should look after or look at when my players are playing against the opponent. 제 선수들이 경기를 하고있을때 저희 팀의 문제점이 확실하게 보이는데(풋워크나 스윙등등) 이런건 게임내에서 고칠수가 없다고 많이 느꼈습니다. 대신, Encouragement나 정확한 피드백(선수 멘탈 관리, 상대 약점과 플레이스타일의 변화)을 주고싶은데 경험많은 배드민턴 코치분들이 주위에 없고 코칭 전문 서적을 찾기 힘들어서 이게 항상 고민이 되고있습니다.

    • @coachingbadminton

      That is good question. There are a few ways to do it depending on what you want at each moment. Slice drop, tap drop, push drop and simple drop. You should be able to all of them. Soon, I will making all those clips. Lee

      Stretching is important and after training you should do good warming down and good stretching. But please search internet about benefits of doing stretching as I only know from my experience not from sientific way. Lee

    Sir, i am good with my instinctic play.. I am good in doubles as not much movement skills needed there for me bt i am struggling in singles, i wish to play singles & nobody here to help us (coach). I learnt allot from your all superb tutorials with such details. I am improving bt please give me advice to get all shuttles on court, all 4 corners as i can defend very well. I need help regarding court coverage specially on front court. My net game stucks in singles specially, after defence i stuck between fore court or back court shuttle. I cant get net shots properly. Plz help

    • @coachingbadminton
      @coachingbadminton  7 років тому +1

      The best way for you is to follow the project S1. You need to train many different things to be able to cover the full court.
      It is not simple to me to advise by text. You need to spend some length of time to train to improve. Lee

    • @magicmoments5252
      @magicmoments5252 7 років тому +1

      To satart off:- 1) if your defense is good and you make less unforced errors then let the opponent make mistakes.
      2) If you find yourself tired sooner than your opponent then it means he/she doesn't have to move enough to get your shots.
      Make it difficult for them. Make them move to all 4 corners of the court to retrieve your shots of course you should be skilled enough to do it.
      3) Play to your strengths and attack the opponents wekness.
      eg. If you are good at smashes then make ur opponent lift more.

    I am very weak at returning the shots from the back of the court. I always end up returning very easy to shot for the opponent to return with the smash as in my return the shuttle is very high and is in the center of the court. I am left handed player so I do not have the strength to return the back of court response to the opponent's backcourt. Please giude.

    • @coachingbadminton
      @coachingbadminton  7 років тому +1

      There can be few reasons why.
      Try to get behind shuttlecock. Shuttlecock must be in front of your body to be able to hit harder and more deceptive shots.
      If you can do this, your problem can be sorted. Lee
