- This was from when they were still in San Francisco, this is a 14" model but the bid deal with these is the fact they moving jaw and nut are aluminum where other aluminum wrenches the moving jaw & nut are steel. They are supposed to perform better then the cast steel body traditional wrenches in subzero freezing temperatures.
Great information, I didn't know that aluminum performed like that in cold weather. Thanks Catus
Pipe wrench is a long way from razors! Great review, thanks!!
Mr Maximus, Thanks for drawing attention to potential embrittlement issues . This topic is so obscure that UA-cam does not recognize the word embrittlement. 😸
UA-cam is a fuckin idiot
Thank you.i was wondering if this was the same Schick that I shave with. Maybe could try this. Schick wrench 🛠️ and get a out the same results. So, let's get this playoff going soon
One test for welding filler metals is the Charpy V Notch. The standard temperature for test specimens is 20 degrees below zero. For extreme applications there is a 40 below zero test. This test requires different metallurgy for the specimen to pass.
Yes I've known people that had sets of theses wrenches and other tools that worked on pipelines cool tools 🔧
Interesting. I would not have guessed that temperature would have been the determining factor on utilizing an aluminum wrench vs one made of steel. I would have guessed the aluminum would have become even more susceptible to becoming brittle at cold temps.
Damn interesting cat man I didn't know Schick now I do like no 50
As a water well pump technician, we only use aluminum wrenches. The wear and tear on the body is so much less than cast.
Does Manscaped sell pipe wrenches as well?
