  • Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is best known for a few things:It’s the world’s busiest airport, seeing over 100,000,000 passengers every year, and it’s massive, employing over 60,000 people and making it Georgia’s largest employer.
What travelers and Georgia residents probably don't know is that the airport is also home to a more natural defining feature: the headwaters of Georgia’s Flint River, which flow into a concrete culvert just north of the airport.
Learn how a coalition of partners are working to find the flint and restore it for people, wildlife and the future of the growing city.

My goal as part of a site I am working on is doing a video on every access along the flint river all the way from ATL to lake Seminole ... I live in meriwether county and our beautiful flint river borders my home county on the eastern side the full length of the county ... we are currently working on a flint river water trail along the river ..

In 1980 @ Adamson Jr. High (Clayton County) I was taught the importance of conservation of the Flint River and learned the Flint river began in East Point, Ga.

I've lived in Clayton County practically my whole life. I've ALWAYS thought it was a shame that the Flint isn't more recognized here. It shouldn't be a hidden wonder lol.

As long as ATL doesn’t tap into it for a water source…..😢

Funding is ok… just don’t keep me out i dont want to be apart of your event or what not… don’t charge me just to get access to the river.
