This whole podcast was much on point and much needed. I personally highlight Chuck P's seminar starting at about @1:50:00. People need to hear this stuff over and over.
So much great info in this vid, especially Darryls talk of the justice system, a jury, and understanding of the laws. As someone who has been on the bad side of a jury trial after a falling out with my former agency, I can personally attest to the system being run and governed by people that do not share the same mindsets as the people that frequent P&S. Definitely made me rethink my daily EDC choices to a similar frame of mind as Darryl. Cannot reccomend this video enough.
For those wanting specific firearms here is a small list. I'll list my suggestions . Go to the P&S Forum for a longer list. It's essentially a 1993 AWB list. This was a very informative ModCast It has me rethinking my weapons for traveling and personal security use. The magazine capacity law for traveling got me thinking. Thanks
The advice that is based on experiences in California has a Fudd component to it, comapred to other parts of the country. The advice is not necessarily wrong (or right), because the accuracy depends on the local and state legal systems. Some can say that CA residents have bent over and taken poor firearm and self defense laws. They have to live in the prevailing legal system for their area. The standards are different in CA, NJ, TN, TX or even within a state or county. Dealing with horrible laws and traditions may qualify as a Fudd mindset or maybe the only way to navigate a corrupt legal and law enforcement system.
@@PrimaryAndSecondary sorry man. Switched to IPhone and haven’t messed with UA-cam yet. I’ve only stumbled across your channel seeking good defensive talk, revolver talk, and anytime DB is on. Thanks, and good luck
Within the context of the topic I'm not sure where the fudd comments are coming from. Is a 30-30 lever gun or 45-70 single shot ideal? No. Would you fuck someone's day up if you ever had to use one? Yes. Is a 1911 with ball ammo ideal? No. Is having one the best option for some people in certain areas? Yes. Context people.
Great info and insight by qualified people BUT the sound of defeat is loud in this video. Meaning have your AR’s and your glocks but better rethink your self protection/ home defense plan because you may pay the price even for a good shoot, sad times we live in.
The Chitcago reality with charging and trials is very different than the advice from California. Crimesha doesn't charge criminals with real gun crimes. The local fixer attorney ensures that the lubrication is properly applied to the Cops, Assistant SA, and/or the Judge, if someone gets pinched. It is all about the money, relationships, and black mail information. Chitcago has the best law enforcement and judicial system that money can buy. It has always been that way and always will.
At around 2:06:10 Chuck starts talking about how the FBI ballistics tests, which precipitated the agency's shift back to 9mm, were biased in favor of 9mm. I'm interested in learning more, but my Google-fu is failing me. Can anyone link an article on the tests that include which cartridges were tested and the results?
That report is phenomenally detailed and available to Mil/LEOs by official department request. I don’t have a copy. For all pistol calibers barrel length is a factor. For the fbi test it was a glock 19 so the speed g2 gold dot 147 gr won by a mile. @Tnoutdoors9 did a test in 2015. For longer barrels 5.5+ I use Underwood Lehigh it uses fluid dynamics and 1600fps to grenade soft tissue. If you need a shorter gun consider changing to 10mm or 45acp/super.
And just like the glock, 9mm it was pre-selected by careful wording. Not a bad choice but not a fair or complete test of the entire market of options. They did that decades ago and picked 10mm. Which isn’t pleasant in small guns for small people. Then 10 was shortened to 40 Short & Weak. Then bullet and powder design improved and 9mm made more sense. Unless fighting bears, then 10mm or 45acp/super is best like Beardface’s friend in Alaska uses.
That white beard guy reminds me in both gun choices and proficiency/confidence of Ehrmentrout from Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul. And of course age, no offense meant

This corona talk didn't age well. Lots of fear mongering from Chuck unfortunately. The virus is proving to be a secondary problem compared to government overreach driving the economy into the ground and almost 10million people out of work. Eloquent as always though. Enjoyed it.
Could the "fear mongering" being assessing worst case? I suspect many discount the positive outcomes provided by people taking proactive measures like washing their hands which has greatly reduced potential impacts of the covids.
I’d disagree that police primary objective is prisoner taking. Amy police officer who’s more focused on arresting people than everything else police have to do. That’s VERY concerning. I know these guys aren’t stepping on anyone’s rights. But police focusing on arrests more than whatever else. That’s concerning. Unless they’re drug/gang unit/chasing predators ect. But regular beat cops? Arrests should NOT be their primary concern and objective
I was hoping chuck would put the fudd in his place about having a useless gauge in a warzone, but I'll settle for chuck putting all the "its just a flu" people in their place.

This is right up there with the “Snubbies!” and “Revolver Bias” episodes as one with tons of replay value.

What’s deeply, sadly ironic is that a lot of the shooting community would dismiss these guys as ‘Fudds’.

I agree, this is excellent information! It is sad that some might have that knee-jerk reaction.
This was a really great episode. Familiarity makes a huge difference.
I live in New Jersey even though I've had tactical training with my AR and my 50 state legal SKS. I have taught and trained with my shotgun.
Add haggard and claude werner to this panel and that would be the absolute dream panel right there
Keep up the great work!
It’s 2023 and at least one person on this panel missed the Covid scare by a mile 😂

Really cool to hear some guys talk about guns that aren't ARs and double stack pistols and all the more tactically oriented guns.

I wanted to hear Chuck talk about smashing skulls in with his surefire defender
You might want to invite Ed Calderon aka Eds Manifesto on your podcast for Non Standard Defensive Weapons.
Ed, Chuck, and Varg in the same chat would be some of the coolest possible shit

This is about those who dont have those options or those who have the options who travel into or through restricted states.
I think you missed the point of the video man. I took tactics out of this podcast, not equipment per ce.
