I love silage tarps. Such a help. I thought it looked like asparagus growing behind the cabbage. I love asparagus also. My chickens like to take a dust bath in my raised beds. I put up a orange plastic fence that was 3 feet high which did keep them out. They love my stringbeans and potato plants. I enjoy my chickens tho. 3 chickens and 3 eggs a day that I give away. What fun. I enjoy watching your videos. God Bless!
The Soil in the garden only gets better as years pass…always amend it ..compost..fertilizer…this is my 3 rd better year of gardening..,I feel like wooowhoooo on the abundance of growth 🌱🌱🌱
The abundance that is produced in your area is amazing! Weed control and general primping seems to be an ongoing demand. Thanks for sharing! We here in Bend Oregon were hit with another frost three days ago. Our apple blossoms were hit earlier this year and these trees look very sad as far as fruit potential…however our strawberries seem to be thriving and we just planted (late) beans, peas, and, potatoes…rhubarb went to seed crazy fast as we were on our vacation in May as it matured. Holts…Onward and beyond!
I love your garden. It reminds me of my dad’s growing up A farm sitter that doesn’t text for problems is worth their weight in gold as your vacation can continue and not come to a grinding halt with worrying about collard eating goats, etc
Oh my goodness, puppies! So cute, my husband wants a dog for years, I don't want dogs in the house but I would like one in the yard. 😍 We had so much work in the house and my husband had a heart attack but God speared him. My dad passed in February, mom has dimentia, I can barely walk at the moment and I am getting chicks this week. We have the deductibles to pay and ambulance..... and it goes on and on. Ugh, I am blessed to have God in my corner because I couldn't do it on my own. Love your garden, you have lots to do but one step at the time it will get done! God bless you guys. Hugs ❤🤗🙏🌷
Awe love the puppies The garde8ns are looking like you'll be happy with your blessings I'm so glad the farm setter stayed and you'll all benefit from it
Gma Kathy here. Loved seeing the painted rocks, identifying the plants. The Littles stepping on the stones and the beach shots are a delight. And most importantly, I enjoyed the way you sat together and presented your gardening. The rocks between the waters producing great gardens was interesting. Very educational and inspiring, Son Ben and Bri!
I'm the same way about buying plants. I can't NOT buy plants or seeds when I go to the hardware store! And every time I go on a walk, I come home with a cutting, or seeds, or a bulb or two (and sometimes even a potted plant!) that neighbors shared with me. I have way too many plants, seeds, cuttings, and bulbs to use them all, but as they say, "Hope springs eternal!" =D What does a silage tarp do? Does it speed up decomposition?
In the Fall-why don't you put down a large tarp-a lot of cardboard-newspaper-used vinyl signs- your garden will be soft & weed free for planting without backbreaking work? I planted 2 strawberry plants in a container. the runners quickly ran everywhere. I had to get more containers for the runners to fall into I ended up with 10 containers full of strawberries (which I gave away 6 containers last year_ I plant everything with bone meal & blood meal. I don't think (maybe I am wrong) strawberries need all that mulch-they like loose soil. My dad each year would take the rototiller down the middle of the rows to keep the strawberries medium size if not they will get very small. That is all I can say - well not really.....good luck, you two work too hard by hand. Planting early also helps things grow big-if you can get your hands on used milk jugs to cover the plants from frost-also if you go to the bakeries & ask for used frosting pails (they are food rated) a lot of things are free. You can make your own grow bags also out of landscape fabric. I have seen where they no till plant with layering. plastic gallon bottles works great to for maybe herbs..just a few suggestions.
Y'all are one of my top favorite channels. Your family is such a sweet inspiration. Land get prettier all the time from your hard work.

That’s a bummer about the frost. Everything else sounds great though!
What a lovely video! Thank you!
Thank you for watching!
Cheap raised beds can be built out of 6 ft fence pickets. And 4x4 for corners.
It would be cool to make some rock walls with all those rocks.
For sure!

Welcome!
Build or buy something specific for strawberries and locate it close to the house.

love hearing all the birds! Your land is so beautiful.
Rocks warm up the ground and add trace minerals to the soil also, vinyards do better on stony ground for this reason.

Hi! 👋🏻
Beautiful gardens!

It kills back the weeds :)
❤😊❤😊❤😊
Is that woodchips in the peppers? wood absorbs nitrogen from the surrounding soil as it breaks down. depleting nitrogen from your plants.
The compost we got was heavy in mulch… good thought, we will have to keep an eye on the nitrogen. Thanks!
No children!! Did you tie them up and gag them? 😂
Quiet time ☺️
👍❤️🙋♂️
You are addicted to chaos. You create your own chaos. Some people feel dead if their life is not always in chaos.
Wow. Thanks.

Any grower who goes on vacation at the start of the season gets what they get. Growing on vacation in Fall/Winter is better planning
Yup. However our kids rank before our land/gardens and we only have so much time with them.
