Gma Kathy here. Loved the granddaughter's fashionable leaf skirt and hair adornment. It was entertaining and educational to see the transfer of the hen and piglets. Love the humor you two insert into your lively videos.
Those are such “girls”. The leaf skirt was amazingly creative. And lovely too. Love your family and that smiley baby. You are indeed a super girl dad Ben. ❤
I have always moved my broody hens after dark. Never had one come off the nest and not continue setting...do it earlier in the night, that way they have the rest of the night to readjust and orient to being moved.
So I don't have to deal with extra roosters, I let the hen be broody on a couple of eggs for a couple of weeks, then put purchased chicks under her and let her raise them. Had great success doing it this way. No heat lamps, brooder, etc.

I have moved my broody hens at night that way they seemed to stay on the nest better...just a suggestion ❤
Thanks! Yea, we only move the other chickens at night, not sure why we didn’t think of that with her 🤷🏻♀️☺️
Love watching. Hard work looks like to me
Good luck with the broody hen! 🐣

Here's hopin' for new chicks !!!
Best to move clucky hens after dark, they settle down immediately.
I'm curious, would it be better to move the broody hen at night when she's somewhat lethargic to minimize disturbing her?
Good idea
❤😊❤😊❤😊
next time move hens after dark
Good idea
It looked like the area by the tree offered shade and food. Why didn't you include that area? Just my ignorance asking.
They are under the tree a bit, so they get the benefit of the apples and shade without the junk pile from the prior landowners closer to the house. 🙂
MOVE YOUR HEN AT NIGHT
Thanks
