I just noticed that on the Toyota site, interior led lights are now a "dealer-installed option" for $139. Thanks for saving me about a $125 of that amount with some spare bulbs left over. You're the best!!! 😊
Me too, many thanks. I did exactly the same on a 2020 rav4 hybrid xle but with so much force and struggling till I found out the tabs are pretty tough. It's hard to break them. But the bulbs are in sockets and supposed to be replaced from inside. Anyway, I was just shaking and pulling, maybe 50 time on each side, to bring them out. Thanks
A big Thank You for the video!!!! However, on my 2020 RAV4 they changed the light cover and added two additional tabs that go under the console cover. I was able to remove the light cover as you demonstrated but there was no way to put it back on. So I ended up having to remove the console and take the whole cover off of it and then could install the light covers back on and reinstall everything. Just a heads up that they changed those light covers on the 2020.
For the 2021 rav4 xle I had to remove the whole assemble. Shame on Toyota for not adding led lights on the interior or the fog lights. Not acceptable they put on those cheap halogen bulbs.
Thx for vid. Just did this and worked. The issue is the other side with the 2 rect holes that slip over tabs in console with a click that side stays tight over tabs and requires force it over tabs. It wont slide easy out and takes force to pop over tabs. Can't bend columns out from tabs because they slide in groove(is in the heart) , they don't just slide out easy, maybe after 1st time the next time is easier. None the less I did this and just a little corner chip on little black tab but the 2 columns do bend a little and aren't too brittle, pro's and con's of console vrs just the lens removal, if console tab breaks you can get replacement plastic plug tab. Lights are too dark and need replace, for led pads have to remove lens. just finished and sure bright yea. Thx again for vid and 2019 Rav4 Hybrid XSE rocks.
Did you change the 2021 yet? I'm still waiting for the fog led's... I ordered the interior led's but watching UA-cam every one is taking the whole thing apart. I definitely can use your guidance on the 2021. I don't want to put my email on here so any guidance would be helpful, thanks in advance...

I tried your way but can't take cover out I must take whole thing down then find out go around back side and saw it has three side to hook up if do like your way certainly will be broke,cause my rav4 was built in Japan.
I couldn't get the lenses out, either, from the front map lights. Looks so easy when the Master does it. LOL. I pulled the whole console out and replaced the 194 bulbs with LED bulbs. It's bright enough now.

I just noticed that the plastic covers of mine are slightly different than yours. They have plastic on the edges that hold them in too, it is not just the two little things that clip in...
Dioshy Cruz The lens cover on my XLE Premium are different than the lenses that you removed. I discovered that you MUST remove the trim piece first to remove the lens cover.

That is the wrong way to do it, if you remove the gray plate that surrounds the entire frame first it is much easier, and you avoid damaging the covers, it takes less time, the way shown in this video is the wrong way!

I have the same issue, I just push the light in, some people said that they have to shaved the corners to fit, in my case I didn’t I push it in
I used an old credit card to pry the covers off the map and dome lights. Do you suggest it?

Learn before you talk, is two different plates, on mine you can remove the lenses, on some other models you have to remove everything
