Thanks brother, I’m glad you liked the video! 1/43 needs a little more attention, I’m impressed with the bang for your buck you get with this set. A lot of fun!
I have a bunch of Carrera but H.O. Scale is more fun, to me anyway. Faster cars with G-Force and wall huggers. When “Toys Are Us” was still around I’d wait until after Christmas or any holiday really and find sets on sale for way cheap. You could generally get a track with one feature like a loop, high banks or a ramp for 20 or 30 bucks. I’d buy stacks of them frequently. I amassed well over 400’ of track and have a car lot and junk yard because every time you get the small sets you have 2 cars, a power supplies and 2 controllers. I have a pretty big box of controllers lol. My buddy and I built an 8’ x 14’ quad layered track at one point with about a 2’ tall corkscrew in one corner and multiple loops. It also went up the wall and on the ceiling. It was Frickin’ Awesome!!! We ended up wearing hard hats and safety glasses because you can still break a wall hugger off of the track and when it flies off the ceiling you have a high chance of getting slammed in the head with those little projectiles. 😆 Bought one of those old people grabby sticks for car recovery. 👍 I ended up buying bulk 9” straight stack packs because we had way too many radius pieces. That’s where the huge corkscrew came from. We had to run 2 power strips with all the transformers divided up best as we could and we extended the supply cables with speaker wire. Man, that was the most Epic setup I’ve ever had or seen. The only thing that would have been better is if we’d have been able to make quad lanes that paralleled each other for 4 racers. At any rate… SLOT CARS RULE!!!! 🏎️ 💨
Little trick with the cars buy small strong magnets. Drill some holes as close to the rear as possible put in the magnets. It will hold the car to the track better
I got into the Carrera Go sets last year when I saw they had the F1 cars. I've bought a bunch of extra sets and cars this year. They are alot fun when you add in longer straights, wider faster turns and banked curves compared to the more compact starter sets.
I bought 2 cheap sets for the kids to play with when they come Christmas. They have other presents. What I thought interesting was when you unpacked the track, it looks very similar . Also the box looks pretty similar to Carrera in layout, graphics and labelling. But it doesn't have Carrera on it. After Christmas, I can join both sets for the one kid that comes each week. All the best for Christmas and New Year from the deep south, falling off the planet deep........Australia 😊
I think with that lane changer track theres a greater chance of a crash because you're more apt to be running side-by-side than a 1/4 lap behind on that criss-cross intersection and if you set it up right you'll be able to see the other car before a possible crash. Its a great deal and the perfect Christmas gift for any racing fan 🏎 🏎 Thank you for the video ✌️😎 .
I have this set and added extra straight for a longer runs and this track design is a lotta fun. The wireless controller are new and mine didn’t come with them but a real huge upgrade not to be tied to the track. Have fun I know you will 🏎👍👍

Great review of what looks like a good value . I prefer the crossover over an overpass, less to fall apart and more challenging to avoid other cars, plus when I was a kid the fun was all about crashing. If they only made cars that would disintegrate when you crashed the kids would have a ball rebuilding them. Keeping it fun will get a new generation involved. Set 2 has 4 long straights, two 114mm (thoses are the thirds), 2 lanechanging pieces (that have to be connected both in the track, because only one will not let the track function. No power). One narrow straight piece and a fly-over. Set 3, which I bought next two Set 1 has 8 full straights and four 45 degree curves, plus the baned curve No. 1 (tighter radius). I personally don`t connect the intersection piece like you, too. The cars underneath rub on the elevation of the plastic parts in the middle , like they do on the lanechanging pieces. There is also a single lane extension set, so you could build a pit-stop for instance, or a ride around a barrier, or run into the loop differntly in distance. There are also gates that lead both lanes to th right and left side. When I got back into the slotcar hobby a few years ago, I started with the Go!! system and got me two sets. One is also usable for the 132/124 tracks and a smaller one, that is mounted on one side of the track. The first one goes over the track. You can extend the track for much, much longer size and the power won`t let you down, compared to the 132/124 sized track. Mine is over 30 Meters and no power issues at all! 🙂

Carrera Go is a great 2 player option. I got 4 sets so far, no wireless controllers but I think wireless controllers is a great feature to power the cars anywhere around the track. Saw this at Costco too and I was so tempted. I passed on it but I liked your video. I'm planning on doing a 4 lane set for under 400 dollars. It's a very underrated track although I do miss AFX this seems to be the next best option for small scale slot cars.

Very similar set, the one I’m seeing for “Formula Free Racing” has a loop in the track, and comes with Verstappen instead of Perez. Looks like a great set. Yeah I’m sure this set I got is branded different by Carrera here in North America. Cheers! ✌🏼
These cars are far too quick and constantly deslot. Its not fun for children. Many people resell them on marketplace for that reason. However for adult hobbyists 99 dollars its worth it.
@@dominicmasi8328 yeah a little too fast. I haven’t tried with the stoppers they included for the controllers. Those may aid the issue, would be nice if that had a setting on the PU to lower the power. But for big kids like me. This is a blast lol
@@vracan can’t argue with you, it’s one of those to each their own. The digital racing is what I find more appealing, lane changing available to attack and defend, interactive pit stops “fuel usage”, damage simulation and all that. My wife came home from Costco this Saturday with this set for my son got it for £30! It’s £60 in the normal shops
Is this the same as Carrera Go PLUS? Can you program phantom cars and different speed limits?
Carrera Go is a great 2 player option. I got 4 sets so far, no wireless controllers but I think wireless controllers is a great feature to power the cars anywhere around the track. Saw this at Costco too and I was so tempted. I passed on it but I liked your video. I'm planning on doing a 4 lane set for under 400 dollars. It's a very underrated track although I do miss AFX this seems to be the next best option for small scale slot cars.
However, cars are expensive so it's almost a better investment to just buy more sets for the cars themselves. That part really sucks.😊
But carrera go has been around for almost 20 years and there are lots of cars and track available second hand online the options are almost endless.
Is this from US costco or UK?
@@shizunesama Hi, it was a Costco in Canada.
An absolute bargain, this set is £90 (160 Canadian)in UK. Carrera Go is a great choice, if like me space is a problem.
@@chewbakka1204 yeah for sure, if space is an issue this is a great route. You can make some great layout with a fraction of the space needed for the Bigger scales
Watching this vod and thinking about to buy more Cars, Here in Germany there is a Store that sells in Moment the Carrera hotwheels slotcars for 8€ each, i think i need all colors 😂
Yep thats a boost button, without it u only get 70% speed or Something like that
Great video. Saw the set at Costco also, been debating to buy ever since…lol. What local hobby store did you go to. I’m in the durham region area myself, so not to sure whats around me for this. Again, great video.
Still cannot beat 440x2 Tyco
Funny enough I had a Tyco set growing up. That was my first taste of slot cars, Christmas gift way back from my dad. Loved that set.
I don't understand how you intend to use lane changing track to replace the cross track. I think you would have to elevate a track and make a bridge.
Yes that is the plan if I keep the current layout, but I intend on changing the layout completely. I just wanted to build the version included in the instructions for the video to show viewers what they can expect if they buy this product.
Cheers David ✌🏼🏁
In Europe the Set is "Formula free Racing", look the European Set 😯, and look your set 😁. Carrera is a German Company 🤣
Very similar set, the one I’m seeing for “Formula Free Racing” has a loop in the track, and comes with Verstappen instead of Perez. Looks like a great set. Yeah I’m sure this set I got is branded different by Carrera here in North America.
Cheers! ✌🏼
Item number???? 🤨
redbull and ferrari rc cars 1/10 scale $50 a piece at costco
@@patrickkennedy2533 yeah I seen those too! They look awesome even as a display piece. They run for $80 CDN up here which still isn’t bad
Wireless is good so kids don't trip over the wire
These cars are far too quick and constantly deslot. Its not fun for children. Many people resell them on marketplace for that reason. However for adult hobbyists 99 dollars its worth it.
@@dominicmasi8328 yeah a little too fast. I haven’t tried with the stoppers they included for the controllers. Those may aid the issue, would be nice if that had a setting on the PU to lower the power.
But for big kids like me. This is a blast lol
why do people still play slot car? old tech only has throttle and thats it?...sounds boring.
@@vracan can’t argue with you, it’s one of those to each their own. The digital racing is what I find more appealing, lane changing available to attack and defend, interactive pit stops “fuel usage”, damage simulation and all that. Most my friends remember slot cars as this set which is analog and entry level. Still fun, but when they see and try the digital set up I have they get more of a kick out of it.
Cheers mate ✌🏼
