    Thank You So Much Billy Ray For Putting These Videos Up. It Means Alot To Me. I Once Cut Some Large Trees While Living In Washington State. But, Now I'm 83 Years Old And Can't Do Any Of That Anymore. I Now Live In Geoegia, And The Largest Tree I Dropped Around Here( On My Place) Was 33" Across The Butt And Seventy Two Feet High. I Did Cut Alot Of Smaller Ones, But That Was Several Years Ago. I'll Never Froget Those Days, So A Big THANK YOU For Putting Up Your Films. It Means So Much To Watch Them. Thank You Again. You Take Care. AL BYERS.

    I'm glad to hear that the younger generation are taking up these trades. Maybe allot of them have realized that putting yourself 100K in debt for college isn't really the best path. There will always be a need for plumbers, carpenters, electricians, mechanics, and of course tree folk (don't want to offend anyone lol). Very few want to do this kind of work anymore, and there is a good living to be made doing it.

    • @DanielBelzil
      @DanielBelzil 2 роки тому

      In Canada, it is called "university," not "college." And it does not cost $100k. Provincial government in BC keeps university very affordable relative to what it costs in the USA.

      @@WalkenDead Well, I do not know if I disagree with you or not. I worked in forestry in Canada during my summers. I paid my year's tuition in cash and had enough money to rent my own apartment for the whole year. Graduated debt-free.
      If I disagree with anything you said it is the assumption that university's sole purpose is to get employment. The point of post-secondary education is also personal enrichment. You can study anything that interests you. You can travel and meet people and just have a great time.
      I agree though that the trades are great and that there's a good living to be made in the trades. But I know a lot of tradespeople who get sick of it or get injured also. . . It's great to have a degree to fall back on if that happens.

    Measure twice cut once. Or when felling mature tree measure - measure - measure - measure and then come back again and repeat the entire thing a couple times. I really enjoy seeing large trees that I would be reluctant to cut under any circumstances perfectly dropped within a foot of the designated landing zone because of patience, planning and accurate measurement and adjustments when cutting. Billy Ray is one of the best! You may even have some nice clear grain sections in some of the red cedar to get some guitar tops or other acoustic instrument tops if you''re lucky.
